AAU membership is $12.00 per youth athlete and adult athlete (18-22), and $14.00 per non-athlete (coach/official). The cost of membership is in addition to the entry fee. To become a member, register on-line at contact your local AAU District at AAU-4USA or the AAU National Headquarters at ENTRY FEE: $54.00 per athlete $35.00 per coach * Entry fee includes spectator admission SPECTATOR ADMISSION: ENTRY DEADLINE: Spectator admission will not be charged for the West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games. Entry fees have been set to include the spectator admission fee, which normally would be $10.00 per day. Bring the whole family. No Admissions - a great family event for all! All registration materials must be received no later than Friday, June 8. Entry fees must be in the form of either a cashier's check or money order made payable to UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA REGENTS - WCAAUJOG. No personal checks will be accepted. Please do not send cash. All fees are non-refundable. The entry fee is in addition to the AAU membership card. ANY ENTRY FORM (S) NOT RECEIVED BY THE ABOVE-MENTIONED DEADLINE DATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! NO EXCEPTIONS! Guaranteed overnight delivery is strongly advised and will become necessary if it is the only way to ensure that all forms are to be received by the published deadline date. Registration for the Jump Rope events is a two-part process: STEP #1: COACHES must enter athletes into events by completing the JUMP ROPE TEAM ENTRY FORMS. Forms must be mailed or faxed by Friday, June 8, directly to Jean Hodges, N. Heron Dr, Lewes DE 19958, (tel/fax). Call first for fax. Team Entry Forms are included in the entry packet. For additional forms, visit STEP #2: ATHLETES and COACHES must send their individual entry forms and fees to the following address: Conference and Event Services Attn: West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games 442 Memorial Union; One Shields Avenue University of California Davis, CA It is important that the following forms are completed and returned together to UC Davis: 1) Jump Rope Individual Athlete Entry Form and/or Coaches Entry Form 2) Signed Athlete Waiver/Release Form 3) Correct Entry Fee(s) ENTRY CONFIRMATION: TO CONFIRM THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED YOUR PACKET: It is recommended to use an overnight mail service (i.e. FedEx, UPS) in order to track your entry. You can track your packet with the airbill number. If you receive confirmation that your entry was delivered, then your entry has been received and will be processed if complete. If your address is on the entry form, you will receive an confirmation once your entry has been processed. Due to the volume of entries, please allow 7 to 10 days for processing. Coaches, if your address is listed on multiple athlete forms you will receive multiple s. Please note that accounts with spam blocks and controls might not receive the confirmation. The Local Organizing Committee, (LOC) has spent many hours planning and preparing for this AAU Event. In order to make it a great success, we ask for your cooperation. It is the responsibility of the coach, designated person of a team, or athlete to return all the necessary monies and completed forms by the deadline date. It is not the responsibility of the LOC or the AAU to make sure all forms are fully completed and received on time. HOWEVER, THE LOC AND AAU SHALL HAVE FULL AUTHORITY TO ACCEPT OR REJECT ENTRY(S) BASED ON THE CONTENT OF THE DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED AND/OR THE DATE RECEIVED! QUALIFICATION: COMPETITION FORMAT: Pre-qualification is required at any of the AAU Jump Rope Open Tournaments listed at Non-US athletes are not eligible for the West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games. The Technical Committee reserves the right to eliminate, add or combine events in response to the number and distribution of entries. When the number of entries exceeds 30 in singles, pairs or Double Dutch divisions, only the top ranked athletes after the speed and power events will compete in freestyle. Competition will consist of the following four events: (1) Individual rope singles Triple Crown Competition (Speed - Power - Finesse/Freestyle). (2) Individual rope pairs Triple Crown Competition (Speed - Power - Finesse/Freestyle). (3) Double Dutch Pentathlon combining five events that are specified in the AAU Jump Rope Manual. (4) Group Routine.
2 COACHES & OFFICIALS: All coaches and officials must be registered members of the AAU. Teams must nominate officials in a ratio of 1 official per 4 athletes. The Officials Registration forms must be mailed or faxed by June 8 directly to Jean Hodges, N. Heron Dr, Lewes DE 19958, (tel/fax). Call first for fax. All officials should be dressed in white shirts and navy pants, skirts or shorts and athletic shoes. RULES: The 2007 AAU rules of competition will apply. To obtain a copy of the 2007 AAU Jump Rope Rulebook (Handbook), please visit our web site at EVENTS: DIVISIONS AGE SIZE CATEGORY JUMP ROPE 8 & U Singles, Pairs Boys and Girls Singles compete separately Singles, Pairs Pairs may be mixed gender Singles, Pairs, Double Dutch 12 and under is the youngest Double Dutch age-group Singles, Pairs, Double Dutch Team may be mixed gender Singles, Pairs, Double Dutch Singles, Pairs, Double Dutch 13 & U Junior Group Routine (Mixed) Senior Group Routine (Mixed) AGE DETERMINATION: The competitor's age is determined by December 31 st of the competition year. Whatever the age of the competitor on December 31, 2007 is competitor's official competition age for the 2007 competition year. Proof must be provided if challenged (certified birth certificate or comparable legal document). AWARDS: SOUND EQUIPMENT: CHECK-IN: AAU Junior Olympic Games medals will be awarded to the top three (3) individual athletes per combined event in each age category of each division. A team plaque will be awarded to the top three (3) teams in the Group Routine. Winners of the component parts will receive a medal. Place winners (2-10) will receive ribbons. All participants will receive a T-shirt commemorating the event. The Technical Committee may change awards given. Sound equipment will be provided. Each individual or team is responsible for providing their accompaniment to the Sound Manager on a standard CD. CD s should be clearly marked with the competitor's team name. No volume adjustments will be made. The volume and quality of the accompaniment are the responsibility of the competitor and not the Sound Manager. Volume or quality of sound will not be judged. CD s must be cued so the music begins immediately when pressing the start button. CD s must be compatible with standard audio systems. A back-up CD should be available. Pre-Registration: It is extremely important that all entries be received no later than the above-mentioned deadline date. ENTRY FORM(S) RECEIVED BEYOND THAT DATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! Of course, we want as many athletes as possible to participate, so please get all entry forms in on time. Again, guaranteed overnight delivery will become mandatory if it is the only way to ensure compliance with the deadline date. Team entry forms must also be received by the deadline in order for athletes to be entered in the events. On-Site Check-In: Check-In for athletes, coaches, clubs and teams participating in the West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games will be held in the Pavilion located at the corner of La Rue Road and Orchard Park Drive at the University of California, Davis. Please follow posted signs to the Check-In Area. On-site parking is $7.00/vehicle/day. MEDICAL PERSONNEL: TRANSPORTATION: SECURITY: FOOD: NO GUARANTEE: Medical Personnel are part of the event staff and will be on hand to deal with any medical situations that may arise; they are not present for any team training duties (i.e., preventative taping and stretching). Participants are responsible for their own transportation during their stay in Davis, California. All 2007 West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games facilities maintain the right to search any bags, backpacks, purses, jackets, etc. throughout the duration of the 2007 AAU Junior Olympic Games. All 2007 West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games facilities maintain exclusive rights to concessions. Outside food and beverage are not permitted throughout the duration of the 2007 West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games. The AAU can not and does not guarantee the appearance and/or participation of specific participant(s) and/or teams (as applicable) in this event. 5 Dear Coaches: Enclosed please find registration forms for the 2007 West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games at UC-Davis, CA. All registration forms must be RECEIVED by Friday, June 8th, Please note that registration is a two-part process. Step #1: COACHES must enter athletes into events by completing the JUMP ROPE TEAM ENTRY FORMS, which are also included in this packet. It cannot be someone named as a judge since they may be judging at the time the question arises. Additional coaches may be named and registered in order to receive credentials to accompany the team at the venue. As stated in the AAU Jump Rope rules, it is mandatory for every team to nominate 1 judge for every 4 participants. For example, if you have 7 athletes, your team should supply 1 certified judge and 1 helper. Please return the OFFICIAL S SIGN-UP SHEET for your team by the entry deadline of June 8. 6 Officials registered with the AAU Jump Rope Committee ($25 fee) will receive: 1. Daily admission to all venues (pick-up credentials from the Jump Rope booth at Check-In) 2. Admission to the Athletes Village 3. Access to the refreshment room for officials 4. A Judge s white golf shirt or Officials Volunteer shirt. The Committee reserves the right to substitute an AAU Junior Olympic Games volunteer t-shirt for clerks, runners and scorers where necessary. Numbers are limited, so please register early. Preference will be given to certified judges All Coaches must check their teams in as directed in the entry information on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the Ballroom of the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) located at the corner of La Rue Road and Orchard Park Drive at the University of California, Davis.
