3 Vol. 26 No.2 October Glue Crazy Well it looks like we are in for a glorious fall and from what the long range forecast shows, it is supposed to be a mild winter. That's just perfect weather for building. I want to say a very well done and an "I 'm proud of you" to all the members who chose to participate in this year's Expo. From the feedback I received after the day, it seems we were a resounding success. There were in excess of 350 models on display. The public gave very good response to all the displays. I was particularly happy to see that our builders tables were always occupied and there was a good exchange of info between builders. There seemed to be a much more relaxed atmosphere and I noticed that there were always at least half a dozen club members present at all times. A big thank you to all who stayed after the show to give a hand in the tear down and loading of the trucks. The Expo this year surpassed what I had envisioned and I hope this spirit will continue into the future. Again well done and keep your forehead off the table - there may be a drop of Crazy Glue on the table. Glue Crazy? You betcha. 4 Vol. 26 No.2 October Pre-Expo Display To hopefully increase Expo attendance this year, and also to promote the club, a display was set up on the F. W. Hill Mall (aka Scarth Street Mall) for approximately three weeks prior to the Expo, running from Saturday, August 27 to Saturday, September 18. The display was co-ordinated by Kevin Kreinke, and it was located in the large display case in front of the Salon SnaX on the enclosed east side of the mall. Members contributing items for the display included Dave Kapp, Kevin Kreinke, Colin Kunkel, Barry Novak and Frank Turgeon.

5 Vol. 26 No.2 October September 95, 2005 General Meeting Unfortunately there is nothing to report for this month. The strike by City of Regina outside and support workers resulted in many city services being unavailable, including access to all of the leisure centres. This in turn affected our regular meeting venue at the South Leisure Centre, which was closed and forcing the exec to cancel the September meeting. But all is not lost. The strike ended in late September, so the October meeting, scheduled for October 14 is now on as usual - at the South Leisure Centre starting at 7:30pm. Expo 2005 Report by Al Magnus Once again we had a beautiful fall weekend for our show, which may have affected overall attendance, but we did see a busy Saturday, though Sunday was somewhat slower. The tables were filled with a large variety of items brought out by Lee David, Michael Evans, Robert Gall, Bruce Goff, Curfew James, Leith James, Ed Kereluk, Murray Kish (SMAS),Colin Kunkel, Al Magnus, Gordon McDonald, Brian Miller, Dave Porter, Len Schmidt, Joey Stebanuk (SMAS), Eugene Stacyszyn and Frank Turgeon. According to Len, items on display included 43 armour, 187 aircraft (including helicopters), 85 automobiles (including motorcycles), seven figures, 26 dioramas, two miscellaneous items (engines, etc.), 4 ships/submarines, and eleven space/sci-fi. We even had a few visitors actually stop by the tables where some of the members were sitting and thanked us for the great display. There's nothing like being appreciated! During the two days, Dave Porter's X-Wing fighter Star Wars diorama was probably the most popular subject. It's funny how that tiny R2-D2 generated so many exclamations of "Look, there's R2-D2!" from the younger crowd. Early Sunday morning a Leader-Post photographer dropped by for some pictures, and a photo of Gord McDonald's airliner collection made it's way into the Monday edition. We had a few kits which were raffled off towards the end of the Expo. The winners were: Tyler Pelletier (Regina), winning the 1/35 scale Testors Katyusha rocket launcher. Gerald Gadd (Regina), winner of the Italeri 1/72 scale Me-210 A-1. Sandhya Bhatti (Regina), getting the AMT/ERTL 1:25 scale Lowes Monte Carlo. Rick Fredericks (Saskatoon), winning the 1/72 scale Tamiya Mosquito. Mathew Peters (Regina), winner of the Revell 1:24 scale '48 Ford Woody. Regina Model Railroad Show The Regina Model Railroad Club and the Echo Valley Railroad Club will be hosting their third annual model railroad show, October The venue will be Cochrane High School, and the show runs from 10am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
