Paturel, Yamaha, 433 pts Team Suzuki World MXGP, partnered technically by Motul, experienced a dream Grand Prix of Belgium on 31 July at Lommel, very close to its workshops. Kevin Strijbos indeed bagged his first world win since 2007! 'Words cannot express what I feel', commented the Belgian rider. 'When I reached 3rd place in race two, I began to think the podium's for me... then I tried to forget that!' It was also the team's first success since the arrival of another Belgian, Stefan Everts, as General Manager at end In Belgium, Suzuki also celebrated Bas Vaessen's win in EMX250 and Jérémy Seewer's 2nd place in MX2. Jérémy was lucky to race in front of over 40,000 compatriots the following week, the last Grand Prix of Switzerland having been way back in 2001! On the new Frauenfeld-Gachnang track, not far from Zürich, he mounted his tenth podium and draws closer to the world championship leader, Jeffrey Herlings, injured. 'My aim is to put in my best effort and try and beat the riders on the track with me. I don't think about the championship!' Team HRC, the other factory team supported by Motul in the highest spheres of Motocross, secured a 4th place in Switzerland thanks to Gautier Paulin, who will represent France at the end of September at the Motocross of Nations.

3 AUSTRALIAN SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP MORGAN PARK Troy Herfoss Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team Honda CBR1000RR SP 05/06 HERFOSS BACK FIGHTING FIT STANDINGS Wayne Maxwell, 216 pts Troy Herfoss, 209 pts Glenn Allerton, 205 pts Motul is highly involved with the organisers of the Australian Superbike Championship, especially as the official lubricant partner of this major Australian championship. Motul also provides its technical support to team Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team. Its riders shone in round five, particularly Troy Herfoss, who bagged pole and a double win on 7 August on Morgan Park Raceway. He was therefore 2nd placed, 7 points off the leader the day before a final set to be thrilling. 'At breakfast time I was taking my porridge out of the microwave and happened to make it spin in the air. It did three little somersaults and landed perfectly right way up. So I was sure it was one of my good days'. It would be good to think of doing this kind of extremely effective test more often! Troy Herfoss was indeed the only rider to go under the one minute 14 seconds mark in qualifying. The rider of the Honda CBR1000RR SP #17 then won the two races, both finished with a lead of slightly over 3 seconds. His team-mate, Jamie Stauffer, also got himself into the six candidates for the Superpole before coming 5th overall on the weekend's points. His 2016 season has been marked by an injury which made him miss the Wakefield Park meet. He hopes to finish higher up and improve his present 8th place in the championship at Winton at the beginning of October!

4 Alexander Potekhin Estonia 20 MOSCOW CLASSIC GRAND PRIX SERIES RIGA 03/04 CLASSIC FEST AT BIKERNIEKI Motul's colours could be widely seen on 30 and 31 July around the Latvian circuit of Bikernieki, near Riga, for the third round of the Moscow Classic Grand Prix series. The Dzintara Aplis championship was held concomitantly with its spirited succession of Volgas, Moskvitches and Ladas, as well as 18 single-seaters brought together for the Friendship Cup. The number of participants has remained stable since round one of this competition held on Moscow Raceway, always with two classes contending, Mondial 1600 and Vostok / East s atmosphere guaranteed, even if the field grouped cars produced slightly before and after that decade, from 1977 to The red and white logo was also highly visible on the 1982 Estonia 20 driven by its proud owner, Alexander Potekhin. The former double champion of the USSR and Russia and his contenders faced torrential rainfall on Saturday literally turning the track into a swimming pool. Fortunately, for its 5Oth anniversary, the Bikernieki circuit enjoyed more favourable weather for Sunday's races. The 3260 metres track, surrounded by trees, is not flat at all and offers a varied range of difficulties. It rarely lets you get away with mistakes and drivers often liken it to the Nürburgring. This demanding environment is quite to the liking of Alexander Potekhin who came 2nd then 1st of the two programmed races, thus also winning the Friendship Cup in its Formula Mondial class.

5 Pierre-Yves Corthals, Jordi Oriola Villa DG Sport Opel Astra TCR ADAC TCR GERMANY NÜRBURGRING 05/07 SECOND AND THIRD FOR A MAIDEN ON GERMAN SOIL DG Sport has been a reference in motorcycling for many years. In 2012, a rally structure called DG Sport Compétition was created and has already gained famed internationally marks a new diversification for the Belgian company, located near Spa-Francorchamps, by competing on circuits and beginning with the TCR Benelux championship. Motul is providing its technical contribution to this ambitious programme centred on the development of the Opel Astra TCR. The German tuner Kissling Motorsport as well as Opel Motorsport are also involved in the project. To demonstrate the car's qualities, DG Sport Compétition stood in as a replacement at the ADAC TCR Germany championship on 6 and 7 July on the Nürburgring, in the presence of Jörg Schrott, Opel Motorsport Director. Pierre-Yves Corthals, the usual driver for the Astra in TCR Bénélux, pushed forward energetically from his 7th place on the grid to third step of the podium of race 1. Jordi Oriola Villa made a comparable leap forward, passing from 5th to 2nd place, not without clinching the best lap time. The Belgian like the Spaniard in contrast had to quit race 2 following collisions. 'This lack of success does not overshadow the team's general performance', emphasised Christian Jupsin, DG Sport Compétition manager. 'The cooperation with Kissling and Opel Motorsport is ever more fruitful, and the Astra's performances are improving all the time.'

6 Laurens Vanthoor - Florian Stoll kfzteile24 APR Motorsport Audi R8 LMS ADAC GT MASTERS NÜRBURGRING 05/07 MOTUL BAGGING EVER MORE PODIUMS IN ADAC GT MASTERS The ADAC GT Masters championship is commonly called the 'Super Sports Car League', a title that does not appear usurped at all, bringing together as it does thirty or so exceptional racing cars, seven prestigious manufacturers and many factory drivers. Motul is part of this 'motorsport concert' through a partnership with kfzteile24 APR Motorsport, a team that is an offshoot of the structure MS Racing, champion in It has just obtained its best result of the season on 7 July at the Nürburgring, where Belgian Laurens Vanthoor and German Florian Stoll took 2nd place of the 2nd race. The best time clinched by Vanthoor in free practice revealed the high pretensions of the Audi R8 LMS #24 line-up. Having left from 11th on Saturday, Stoll unfortunately had to quit before being able to change with his team-mate. Things went just the opposite way on Sunday with 2nd time in qualifying, and fastest lap during the race for Vanthoor, and the arrival line crossed by Stoll second placed. The 60 minutes of the race were however eventful, as explained to us by the Belgian, former winner of the Spa 24 Hours: 'a penalty pushed us back to 5th on the grid. I found myself stuck in 4th place at the beginning of the race, but I stayed longer on the track than my contenders and managed to truly battle it out at the end of my stint. So Florian came out of the pits in the lead. He couldn't keep this place to the end but our 2nd place represents a great satisfaction'.
