1 AGM General Manager Report This last year, has seen numerous changes occur within the association, with the largest being the completion of the redevelopment, and transitioning into the 10-court facility. There have been many challenges with the move, with some still ongoing, but we have been able to handle these with little disruption to our members. Our financial position continues to be strong as we plan for future growth, with a possible investment into improved facilitates for our members. This year has also included robust discussions with City of Casey Council in regards to the redevelopment, fit out and license fee. Negotiations in regards to the License fee are unresolved, but are soon to be finalised with the best possible result for our members being achieved. We are able to secure some major events for the first time: - BIG V All-star game. This was the opening event at Casey stadium. We hosted Vic Metro All-stars V Vic Country All-stars. We had a total of 1032 attend. - NBL pre-season game for Melbourne United. This game sold out in 26 hours seats sold. We had over 1700 people at this event (including function room sales) We became partners with Melbourne United and Melbourne Boomers, and had appearances from them through-out the year. Charity events- Pink Day we were able to raise a record $11,600 with the added help of volunteers. We look forward to the 2018 Pink day, which will be on the new Show Court. We supported Epilepsy foundation by advertising and running a purple round. We had volunteers sell merchandise to raise funds. Development Programs Our development programs continue to grow and offer our members quality coaching, competitive competition, and lots of fun. Our goal is to offer our members the opportunities to play basketball at all levels. - Aussie Hoops Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays - Academy- Monday - 3 on 3 tournaments- January, April, July and September - Junior Tournament- March Labour day weekend - CITP - School Holiday Camps each School Holidays - Girls rule Program - Next Gen program

2 - Rep ready Program - School Visits 25 schools in Introduction of Wheelchair basketball - All Abilities basketball - Coaches clinics Domestic Competitions Our membership for 2016/17 was 584 teams with total membership of 5337 in Summer, and 550 teams with total membership of 4963 in Winter. Our membership increased to an average of 5150 over the 2 seasons, with a total increase of 601 members. This year Casey Basketball continued to use 5 venues to play its competitions, Casey Stadium, Timbarra P-12 College, Berwick Indoor Sports Centre (Kambrya College), Beaconhills College, and Hillcrest Christian College. Once the redevelopment was completed we continued to utilise these venues for our Saturday competition to accommodate the large number of teams, but our Senior and afterschool competitions were all played at Casey Stadium from June BIG V In 2016 season we had 4 teams, Men s, Women s, Youth league Men and for the first time, Youth League women compete in the BIG V competition. Our Men were elevated to State Champ Men and our Women were elevated to Division 1 for the 2017 season. Our Men s team made the final series while our women s teams struggled in their first year in Division One. After numerous attempts over the past few years finally, our Youth league men, won the YL2M championship against Collingwood All-stars in a great 3 game series. Our first season Youth League Women s teams lost in the semi-final in overtime. A crushing end to an extremely successful first season. Our club won many awards at the BIG V awards dinner. 3 Our teams transitioned from court 1 to the new show court, with new change rooms. All agreed the new show court is a fantastic court to play on. We would like to thank all of our player sponsors, as without them it would be impossible to run this program. Director of Coaching, Warren Dawson, is forming a strong group of coaches, who give our players the best possible opportunities to develop and succeed. 39 Teams registered in the VJBL for season. - 3 teams in Victoria Championships in the season. - 5 Championships were won. Boys U12.1 Girls U12.4 Boys U14.6 Boys U16.3 Boys U The continued growth of the association, has filtered into our Junior Representative teams, with the registration of 44 teams for VJBL season. - Julia Gnocato and Corey Roos made U16 Vic state teams - Nemuel Soliven, Kylan Dsylva, represented Vic Metro and Josh Rawiri represented Vic country in the recent Southern Cross challenge - Jess McConchie (U18 girls) won GGG award for VJBL. For the 2018 season, we have appointed Ben Louis as Girls DOC, Simon Phillips as U12 U14 Boys DOC, Karl Loh as U16 U18 Boys DOC and High-Performance Coach- Eric Minerve, to work with Warren Dawson Junior Program DOC.

4 Awards Gala- Our celebration of our Association Awards Gala was held at Settlers Run Golf Club, with 105 people in attendance. This gives us an opportunity to recognise all the tremendous work they do, from Junior and senior players at all levels, to volunteers, referee s and our clubs. 5 Referee s We appointed Dean McCarthy as our Referee Advisor in This has been a big step forward in elevating our referee program. Dean is a SEABL referee, Level 3 Referee Coach and has been Referee Advisor for Frankston for many years. He came highly recommended by BIG V referee coaches and BV Referee Development Coordinator. He is well regarded within the Referee community, and we have already seen an increase in BIG V panel nominations, VJBL panel nominations and general numbers in referee participation. I would like to thank the CBA Board, for their ongoing support and forward thinking, which will help us plan and prepare, for the continued rapid growth. Our strong financial position will give us opportunities to expand our Association enabling our members to participate at every level of our sport within the City of Casey, in quality venues.
