3 8. Coaching Coordinators Report Report presented by Yvette Burden Our coaching courses are kicking off on Sunday the 11 th of February. CCA Level 1 courses are mainly booked on Sundays as we are trying to fit more than 1 course into a day to have them all finished by the 5 th of April. Last year, I found that people dropped out once the season kicked off so hoping that the new structure will ensure people finish up before the season gets too hectic. CCA Level 2 courses kick off on the 15 th of February and conclude on the 29 th of April. Coaches wanting to do both CCA Level 1 and 2 this season do not have to complete CCA Level 1 before they start the Level 2 courses but they will have to complete Player Centred Coaching on the 11 th of February before they can do any of the follow-on courses. Some very exciting news for Waiuku Netball Centre is that Rachel Brown-Cole will be delivering several of the coaching courses this season as she has been appointed as an Independent Coach Developer for Netball Northern. Rachel is well known to our coaches and has added an enormous amount of value in our past courses so I am very optimistic that she will be a great Coach Developer for our Centre. We currently only have 3 coaches booked for Sunday the 11 th of February so please go back and advertise this to your clubs and get your coaches to sign up in the next few days as I will have to postpone the course if we don t get the numbers up to 6 at least. Despite advertising the course dates in the Post and on our Facebook page as well as sending an to our coaches database, the slow update is due to how early we are starting these courses so I am hoping the word will get out by means of our Club delegates. 9. Rep Liaison Officer Report Report presented by Tara Coe With another season upon us it is really great to have most of the Representative Netball side of things already ready or in the pipeline of being completed before the season starts. With a lot of work put in during the off season behind the scenes I would like to personally thank those who have helped me out here and there with uniforms etc is already shaping up to be a great rep season with a number of girls talking or messaging me in the off season for details and what they can do to be ready for trials. It is great to see so many of our young players so keen and passionate. Trials for this year will be held on the last Sunday of the School Holidays and I am currently drafting a memo out to all schools and clubs for this. I am looking at a total of three trials per age group with Teams to be announced on Sunday 29 th April at the final trials. Trial 1 Sunday 22 nd April 2018 Trial 2 Either Tue/Wed 24/25 or Wed/Thur 25/26 April 2018 Final Trials Sunday 29 th April 2018 with Teams being named. (Times for this will go out with the Memo s) I am pleased to say we have 2 out of the 4 coaches already lined up and the 4 th will be dependent on whether we have an under 17 team or not. We are also currently in talks that if there is not an under 17 we could look at potentially having 2 teams in another age group this would be trial numbers and skill dependant. If you know of anyone wanting to umpire for the Reps this year could you please let myself or Eleanor know so that we can have this organised well before the competitions begin. I am also in the middle of putting together a small Representative Netball Group of people the aim of this is to organise a training schedule for those players who are wanting to come together in Dec/Jan to start training and having weekly sessions on skills and drills with selected coaches/technical people. This will give coaches an Page 3 of 6

4 insight into how much knowledge of the game the girls have and also key areas that can be focused on before trials start. That way when it comes to trials the girls and boys have already had some time playing together and the coaches have been able to have a look and get familiar with the people trialling. After last year and the success we had with our Rep Teams and how it was run we are excited to try and keep the momentum moving forward and start to spend more time on our Representative Players. Hopefully with the vast knowledge and talent we have within our Senior Members we can create and provide a training and development programme that can be run in the summer months for many years to come. If you would like any information on reps or if you would like to be a part of this development then please get in touch with me. Tara Coe tara_coe@hotmail.co.nz 10. Sponsorship Committee Report Report presented by Anne Walters I would like to acknowledge the support of Toni Zinzan who resigned this evening. It would be nice to see more join the Sponsorship Committee at the AGM 11. Zone Report Report presented by Sharni Hunter Fees previously charged per team for Years 5 & 6, will instead be altered and charged per player. 12. Kitchen Report Report presented by Kathy Maxwell I find it hard to believe, but this is definitely it, my final report as the Centre s Kitchen bitch, My thanks to the Clubs who have manned the Canteen, on a weekly basis with barely a glitch, When I first started, things were simple with weekly deliveries dropped at the door, Changes have been many; the first was that local deliveries were available no more, Weekly orders instead were delivered by Mr. Chips, of Cheese, Sausage Rolls and Pies, A weekly visit to New World took care of the majority of all other supplies, Meeting deliveries and the running around has all very time consuming I won t deny, And will I miss the Saturday 6am start.hell NO I cannot tell a lie, I wish my replacement whoever that may be, all the very best, As I take my leave to enjoy an over-due welcome rest. Though the language may sound different, the sentiment is surely the same, Au Revoir...Adios... Haere rā... Sayonara...Arrivederci... Auf Wiedersehen 13. Shop Report Report presented by Debbie Lieder Although attempts were made to sell products at Twilight, this was not overly successful. 14. General Business Twilight Positive feedback was received from teams who played at Twilight. 48 teams entered and enjoyed the season. The facilitators recommend having the Competition Section removed. Sandspit Netball Club Nicky Harcombe advised the Meeting that she was stepping down as President of Sandspit Netball Club and introduced Jo Barriball who is to take her place. Welcome Jo. 5 Club Contacts as required under the Constitution... (d) A Register of ALL members and Affiliated clubs shall be held by the Secretary at the Centre s Office. All clubs shall forward to the Centre Secretary the names, addresses and telephone numbers (if available) of their President and Secretary following their Annual General Meeting each year. Office Bearer Roles Sharni Hunter suggested setting a date (2 weeks from today) for applications to be ed to the Secretary for any role the applicant may be interested in. It was stated that the Constitution would need to be altered for any changes to the status quo to be implemented. Any member is welcome to the Secretary advising an expression of interest in a role, vacant or otherwise. Remits All remits must be received by the 18 th February for distribution on the 19 th February Police Vetting Although this has been raised prior, it will be introduced for all Centre Personnel, Coaches, Managers Etc as a safeguard to ensure the safety of all players first and foremost. CLM Club Connect - Tara Coe spoke at length about CLM (Counties Leisure Management) having received funding initiated from a 3 year contract recently signed with Aktive which has resulted in a new project called CLM Coach Net. This offers Clubs in the Franklin area many forms of assistance e.g. Marketing Administration Governance Finance Budgeting etc at no cost. Tara intimated she would be keen to take advantage of the Marketing rep to assist in completing the Website to have it up and running before the season starts. They also have a journalist on board who would be keen to write articles about events etc that occur in the different Clubs and put on the website and/or submit to newspapers. They also offer assistance with logos and funding applications for any interested Club. They will only assist when asked and all assistance will cease when funding is no longer available. Further information may be obtained by ing Tara Coe: tara_coe@hotmail.co.nz The Meeting endorsed acceptance of the assistance offered Sharni Hunter briefly mentioned an additional position of a WNC - Funding Officer who would concentrate solely on lodging requests for funding assistance liaising with the Publicity Officer. Maintenance Quotes to carry out necessary repairs as a result of the fire damage have been accepted by the Insurers. Courts are to be cleaned, lines marked and numbered. Quotes have been received to clean the building, treat the front steps and replace the blinds. 2 quotes have been received to waterproof and paint the grandstand 27, GST & 26, GST Neither quote included the necessary drainage. Points were raised concerning the cost of rendering the grandstand fit for use: Will it ever be used for more than just storage Not keen to have fees increased to cover the cost of repair Need to have a set budget for maintenance Asset Management Plan needs to be implemented Are we throwing good money after bad? Is this what everybody wants? All required maintenance needs to be prioritized The issue of erecting covered stands was raised once more. The meeting was advised this was on the wish list and was under consideration to ascertain if it could be achieved on a smaller scale than Auckland Netball, which has double-sided shelters. Surely if spectators were able to shelter from inclement weather they may be more inclined to stay and watch netball. Would this not be more beneficial to the Centre than spending a copious amount of money on a building that will probably only be used for storage. Page 5 of 6

6 VDU - Eleanor Kitching is attempting to get things moving with the new large timer clock. Asset Management Plan - Asset management planning is knowing about assets: what they are, where they are, what condition they are in, and how much they are worth. We also need to look at what level of service is expected of our assets and at what cost. Such a plan needs to be implemented and any repairs and maintenance would need to be prioritised. Aged Rep Bags/Rep Uniforms Tara Coe has been approached by the Coach of the Waiuku College 1 st XV asking to purchase the old Canterbury Rep bags. $10 each for the good ones and $5.00 each for the not so good ones. There are 7 sets of unused Rep uniforms, 1-2 sets shall be retained and the remainder as agreed shall be forwarded to the Islands i.e. Fiji, Rarotonga etc Elva Barriball Anne Walters informed the Meeting of the passing of Elva Barriball, Waiuku Netball identity and past recipient of a NZ Umpire Badge. A Sympathy Card to be sent to Colleen Hair in acknowledgement of her Mum s passing. ACG Strathallan Anne Walters informed the Meeting that Strathallan Seniors are only playing in a Wednesday evening Competition and not on a Saturday. Invitation to be extended to players to attend the scheduled Musters and join the Waiuku Netball Centre Competition. Netball Muster Musters are scheduled for February 5.30pm & February 10.00am. All those interested in playing are encouraged to attend. WNC Website The new website for the Centre is close to being operative. Clubs are invited to forward any promotions, events etc they would like advertised on the website to Tara Coe tara_coe@hotmail.co.nz Club Promo Suggestion was made that Clubs be invited to give a spiel at Monthly Meetings to promote events/inform members of any achievements, what they are doing etc There being no further business the meeting closed at 8.41pm. Signed: (President) Date: Next Annual General Meeting to be held on Monday 5 th March 7.00pm Page 6 of 6
