Confirmed: Phillip Bradley Seconded: Adam Crump Amendment to previous minutes: 4 Actions Arising 5 Correspondence In 6 New Business 6.1 Strategy planning session Thanks to all clubs for providing representatives to this session. We are part way through the strategy session. There will be a further session to further develop the WWCHA strategy. Date to be confirmed. 6.2 Canteen Policy Please review the policies and provide feedback via correspondence by 12 th March. Once feedback received policies will be amended as required and then implemented. Mustangs concerned with the club responsibility for running the canteen particularly for those clubs that have small player numbers. 1

2 The roster that is being developed is taking into consideration these concerns. Those clubs that have larger playing numbers will, have a greater responsibility. The roster needs to be reviewed by the board and will then be sent to clubs for review. It was suggested that club days may be more beneficial on weekends that your club has a bye. Question was raised regarding food safety officer, Ken will follow this up. 6.3 Facility Policy Please review the policies and provide feedback via correspondence by 12 th March. 6.4 Registration process Should WWCHA charge a player the $95 fee for playing 1 game before 31 March This was discussed at length by the clubs and it was agreed that this item was to be voted on (see voting). 6.5 WWCC- Alice Kent (guest speaker) Jubilee Recycling Project Discussion on new recycling project being implemented at Jubilee Park 60% of waste across jubilee is recyclable Aim is to reduce waste to landfill WWCC have met with user groups via a consultative process as well as parks and recreation A bin bay will be constructed with bins in place, these will be wheelie bins for recycling, the bin bay will be located near the Connolly park carpark. The current skip bins will continue to be used for general waste A skip bin will be put in place for cardboard and located near the canteen Clubs asked if a recycling bin could be put inside the hockey ground. Alice will look into this and provide feedback. Proposed to have bin bay installed by mid-march Alice welcomes any feedback on this initiative. 6.6 Board Reports President Turf cleaning will occur on 8 March 2017; therefore, fields will be closed. Dugouts and grandstands have all been painted. Grandstands have been repaired, WWCC will review these in the coming weeks. Looking at rubber matting for inside the dugouts Club fact sheets need to be completed asap. Next general meeting there will be a panel workshops. These will focus on facilities, competitions and officiating. Secretary Treasurer Budget will be ready for the March meeting for voting Presentation night 9 September at commercial club. $40 per head which includes a 3 course meal. Proposing that clubs have a minimum of 4 players to attend the presentation night. 2

3 Majority of clubs not in favour of putting in a motion that clubs must have 4 players attend. The board will further discuss this proposal. The board expects the encouragement of club presidents to promote the presentation night. The board are investigating having a guest speaker for the night. It was commented that there not be junior players attend the presentation night. It was raised whether the fees set by WWCHA need to be voted on. The treasurer has been voted in by the association, therefore the fees stand as they have been set. Competitions Concerns with the division 1 women s competition. Have only received 3 team nominations for division 1 women. It is being proposed if this is the case that the Div. 1 team that has a bye will play a team in division 2 Juniors have been moved to Friday nights, would like to move senior games to commence 30 minutes earlier at 11am. Clubs did not support this. Competition will run in the same format as last season. Proposal that we play teams on a half season rotation. This was not supported by the clubs. All clubs must have team nominations in by 12 th March to Sam. Clubs were asked to vote on whether they wanted the competition structure to remain the same as last season (see voting). Officiating Looking at running umpire clinic to develop umpires. Are there any rule changes for 2017? Will there be a night before the competition starts to go through the rule changes before the competition commences. Andrew will look into this and provide feedback to the clubs. Development Junior Development Report February Kate Wickson Junior registration days To be held Friday 10th March and Friday 17th March 5:30-6:30pm Schools and previous players have been notified of these dates and Wagga Hockey will be placing an advertisement in the Daily Advertiser for continued publicity. Junior draw All Junior games are being played on Friday nights. The game times will be 5.30pm U9 and U11 (game duration 20 mins with 3 min half time) 6.30pm U13 ( game duration 20 mins with 3 min half time) 7.30pm U16 (game duration 25 mins with 3 min half time) Shirts/team colours The colours in our rep uniform will be used for teams, so the teams will be in Blue, Green, Black and Red with White as the other colour if we need a 5th team. All children are to buy their own black skort or shorts as part of their uniform. Joey Balls These new safer and lighter balls will be used for the Under 9 age group. They are being promoted extensively throughout NSW for Associations to utilise them for the younger junior teams. 3

4 Junior umpiring Clubs will again be asked to assist in the supply of Umpires this year to umpire the U16 and U13 games. Vests and spray jackets will be purchased for umpires to utilise and will be returned to the central dugout after each game. Fees The total fee they will pay on the registration portal will include playing shirt and socks. Under 9 s will continue to use the bibs from last year, ensuring this age division remains as low cost to parents as possible. U7- $50 (no shirt or socks for these ones) U11 $80 U13/U16 $120 Representative As per report RCC 6.7 Club Reports Cavaliers CSU Harlequins LAHC Mustangs Rosellas Royals Royals Hockey Club Report 26 February 2017 Royals have been doing a lot behind the scenes leading up to the start of the 2017 season. A main focus of this year has been to improve our financial position to best support our Club members and ensure they are getting value for money and a positive experience though playing Hockey for the Club. We have held two general meetings to discuss and plan for a comprehensive sponsorship proposal. Stage 1 of this proposal has gone ahead with distribution of a proposal to local businesses to sponsor our Club for $250 in return for their logo being printed on our 2017 club training shirts as well as exposure on our correspondence and website material. We have had 12 local business commit to this so far for the 2017 season as well as one business committing to the goalie sponsorship package offered. 4

5 The Kooringal Hotel have agreed to remain as our major sponsor this year. We have also confirmed the Wagga Country Club as a sponsor and have confirmed the date of our Club Presentation evening with a plan to make this a more formal event this year. Royals plan to role out the rest of our Sponsorship Plan in 2018 as part of a broader strategic approach in increasing the success of our Club into the future. To kick-start the season, we secured two Bunnings BBQ slots, the first being held on Saturday 4 February making a fundraising profit of $ The second BBQ will be held this Saturday 4 March. Royals held their AGM on Sunday 5 February at the Wagga Hockey Club rooms with a strong attendance. We had to outgoing members of our Committee including Club President Charles Web-Wagg and Club Treasurer Jen Hawkins. Both were thanked for the significant contributions they d made to the club. All club members are encouraged to join at least one of these groups.
