Motion to Approve the Revised Slip Waiting List Policy at Ole Miss ATTACHMENTS: Red -Lined Slip Waiting Policy Revised Slip Waiting List Policy BACKGROUND: During the summer of 2013, The Harbor Commission began the process of revising the Ole Miss Marina Slip Waiting List Policy, providing staff with comments. During that time, Ole Miss Marina experienced a number of changes. With the departure of the Marina Manager and operational changes for the marina, the policy was put on hold until these issues were worked out. DISCUSSION: Public Works Staff and the Marina Manager took comments provided from the Commission and incorporated these changes into the revised policy. Staff also provided a copy for the City attorney to review and the recommended changes were incorporated into the policy as well. The major changes to the policy are included in item number 1. This revision gives the Public Works Director or his /her designee the right to re- assign slips as needed for safety reasons. The new policy also defines who is classified as a city resident. The Slip Waiting List Policy was presented at the April 1st Harbor Commission meeting and was recommended to be forwarded to the City Council for approval as is. FUNDING SOURCE( S): No funds needed. ALTERNATIVES: Approve revised Policy Not Approve Policy RECOMMENDATION: City staff recommends approval of policy. 8-1 Page li
