4 Prince Albert Raiders Game Notes RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders got blanked in the shootout, falling 5-4 to the Regina Pats last night at the Art Hauser Centre. The Pats opened up the game with an early 2-goal lead before 20-year-old winger Collin Valcourt got the home side on the scoresheet. Regina regained their 2-goal lead to start the second, but 19-year-old pivot Calder Brooks got the Raiders within one and 18 -year-old centre Leon Draisatil scored a pair to take a 4-3 lead through 40 minutes. The Pats scored the only goal of the third period to send the game to overtime, before eventually taking the game in a shootout. 20-year-old goaltender Cole Cheveldave stopped 35 of 39 shots faced, including 2 of 3 in the shootout, in a losing cause. VS THE ROYALS: This is the first and only meeting between Victoria and Prince Albert this season. Last year, the Raiders took a 6-5 shootout decision in Victoria. Carson Perreaux and Leon Draisaitl each recorded a goal and assist in the victory. HELPING OUT: 19-year-old defenceman Sawyer Lange recorded 3 assists in last night s games against Regina, setting a new career high for helpers in a single game. His total of 35 assists is tied for second on the Raiders. SETTING THE PACE: 18-year-old centre Leon Draisaitl has recorded points in 39 of 49 games played this season, including a WHL high 12 game assist streak. The Raiders are when the import centre does not hit the scoresheet this year. Draisaitl is currently on a 4-game point streak, with 3 goals and 5 assists in that span. BLUELINE BLASTING: 18-year-old defensemen Josh Morrissey leads defenceman in the WHL this season with 20 goals. The Raiders captain becomes just the second Raider defenceman to ever hit the 20-goal plateau in a single season, with Emanuel Viveiros holding the record with 22 in A CLOSE RACE: 17-year-old forward Reid Gardiner, 18-year-old defenceman Josh Morrissey and 20-year-old winger Collin Valcourt have 20 goals each and 19-year-old right-winger Dakota Conroy has 21, one behind 18-year-old centre Leon Draisaitl s team leading 24. RAIDERS RANKED: 18-year-old centre Leon Draisaitl has been ranked 2 nd among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting Service s recent Midterm rankings for the 2014 NHL Draft, making him the highest ranked player in the WHL. 17-year-old forward Reid Gardiner holds down the 40 th spot on the list, the 11 th highest player in the WHL. LEADING BY EXAMPLE: 18-year-old captain Josh Morrissey has scor4ed in all 6 games in the month of February, recording 3 goals and 7 assists. MILESTONES: 19-year-old centre Jayden Hart is 4 points away from 100 in his career, while 20-year-old winger Collin Valcourt is 2 away from 150 and played in his 250 th career game on Wednesday night. 19-year-old forward Dakota Conroy has matched his previous season high for goals with 21. UPCOMING GAMES: The Raiders will visit Swift Current for a Family Day matchup with the Broncos followed by a 5-game road swing through the U.S. division that concludes in Everett on February 26 th. The return home to face the Kootenay Ice on March 1 st.

5 Victoria Royals Game Notes TOP 10: The Royals were named the 10 th -ranked team in the BMO CHL Top 10 this week. The honour marks the first time in franchise history the club has been nationally ranked. Victoria was an honourable mention on the list four times this year and once during the season. PLAYOFF BOUND: With a 3-2 overtime win over the Tri-City Americans on Wednesday night and a Prince George loss to Portland, the Royals officially clinched a spot in the 2014 WHL Playoffs. RECORDS FALLING: With a win tonight, the Victoria Royals will reach the 40-win plateau for the first time in franchise history. This season, Victoria has broken the franchise record for wins in a season (previously 36) and the record for points in a season (previously 77). The Royals have also broken the franchise record for most road wins in one season (previously 16). Victoria has 13 games remaining, 10 of which are on the road. RACK EM UP: The Royals win on Wednesday evening saw the team set a franchise record for consecutive games earning at least a point. The Royals have collected at least one point in their last 11 games, notching a record of The previous record of 10 was set during the season from February 27 th -March 16 th when the team compiled a record of UNFAMILAR TERRITORY: The Royals last visit to the Art Hauser Centre came on January 20 th, 2012 and saw Victoria skate away with a 6-4 win. ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Royals have been hot when facing teams away from home. In 26 games played, Victoria has posted a record. In their past 10 games played on the road, the Royals have put up an impressive streak, including six wins in a row dating back to January 4 th in Portland. WALKING TALL: Ben Walker has had a great start to the month of February, posting nine points (3g-6a) through six games. During his three seasons in the WHL, Walker has now registered 34 points (10g-24a) in 32 games played during the month February. MILESTONES: Royals forwards Steven Hodges and Logan Nelson are quickly approaching career milestones for points. Hodges sits just two points away from 150 career WHL points in the regular season with 148 (71g-77a) in 236 games. Nelson sits one point back of the same milestone with 149 points (56g-93a) in 166 games. ON A ROLL: Since December 12 th, Victoria has compiled a record of EAST MODE: The Royals have had 13 games against Eastern Conference teams this season, posting a record. The Royals have outscored their opponents in those 13 games. The Royals have not lost in regulation when playing on Eastern Conference soil this season, posting a record.
