2 Dallas Stars Management & Coaching Staff Joe Nieuwendyk General Manager Joe Nieuwendyk enters his second season as general manager of the Dallas Stars. He was named as the 10th general manager in Stars franchise history on May 31, In his first season with the Stars, Nieuwendyk began putting his vision for a hockey club to work by hiring head coach Marc Crawford, signing veterans Stephane Robidas, Loui Eriksson and Steve Ott to contract extensions, and trading for (and then re-signing) goaltender Kari Lehtonen. The former Stars player returned to Dallas as GM from the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he served as special assistant to the general manager in Prior to joining the Leafs and after his 2006 retirement, Nieuwendyk worked as a special consultant to the general manager with the Florida Panthers. As assistant general manager, he also helped lead Team Canada at the 2009 IIHF World Hockey Championship when the team won a silver medal. A veteran of 20 seasons as a player in the National Hockey League, Nieuwendyk played seven with the Dallas Stars ( ). He won the Stanley Cup for three different teams, in three different decades (Calgary in 1989, Dallas in 1999, New Jersey in 2003). Nieuwendyk was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Stanley Cup Playoffs most valuable player in 1999 when he led Dallas in post-season scoring on their way to winning the Stanley Cup. The Whitby, Ontario, native played in 1,257 career NHL games (which ranks 62 nd alltime) for five different teams (Calgary , Dallas , New Jersey , Toronto , and Florida ). Nieuwendyk scored 564 goals (21 st all-time) and added 562 assists (84 th all-time) for 1,126 points (51 st overall). He scored 51 goals in his rookie season in Calgary, which ranked second at the time for most-ever goals scored by a rookie in one season (that mark now ranks fourth). Nieuwendyk won the Calder Trophy for rookie-of-the-year that season. He achieved two 50-goal seasons, two 40-goal seasons and four 30-goal seasons during his playing career. A four-time NHL All-Star, Nieuwendyk also appeared in 158 career playoff games, recording 116 points on 66 goals and 50 assists. Nieuwendyk played in 442 games for Dallas, scoring 178 goals and 162 assists for 340 points. Nieuwendyk played three seasons at Cornell and was a Hobey Baker Award finalist in for outstanding collegiate player of the year. He was drafted by Calgary in the second round (27 th overall) of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. Nieuwendyk (born ) and his wife Tina have three children, Kaycee, Tyra and Jackson. The family resides in Dallas. Marc Crawford Head Coach Marc Crawford was named as the 20th head coach in Stars franchise history on June 11, 2009, and posted a record in his first season at the helm. He coached in his 1,000th game on October 30, 2009, becoming just the 15th coach in NHL history to do so. Crawford also became the 15th NHL coach to win 500 games with an 8-2 victory over San Jose on March 16, He climbed past Glen Sather, Toe Blake and Pat Burns last season, becoming the 13th winningest coach in league history.

3 Crawford (born February 13, 1961) enters the season having coached 1,069 games over 14 seasons with the Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche, Vancouver Canucks, Los Angeles Kings and Dallas Stars. He has posted a all-time mark in Stanley Cup Playoff games, including the 1996 Stanley Cup championship with Colorado, as well as five division titles and six seasons of 40-or-more wins. Crawford is still the youngest recipient of the Jack Adams Trophy as NHL Coach of the Year (1995 with Quebec, at the age of 34). Crawford remains the all-time winningest coach in Vancouver Canucks history with 246 wins over seven seasons from The Canucks made the playoffs in four of his last five seasons as head coach. Crawford began his NHL coaching career with Quebec in 1994, and after the Nordiques relocated to Denver in 1996, became the third-youngest coach in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup. Crawford s teams have finished in the top-10 of league power play percentage five different times and have eight seasons with an 18%-or-better success rate on the man-advantage. His teams have also scored goals, finishing in the top six in goals-for in six different seasons. Overall, Crawford s teams have averaged 3.05 goals-per-game over his career. The native of Belleville, Ont., served as the head coach for Team Canada at the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan, finishing first in its pool and advancing to the semifinals before losing to the eventual champion, Czech Republic. Crawford was also an assistant coach for Canada for the 1996 World Cup of Hockey. He spent three seasons as the head coach of St. John s in the American Hockey League from , winning the 1993 Louis A.R. Pieri Memorial Award as AHL Coach of the Year and two campaigns with the Cornwall Royals of the Ontario Hockey League from Prior to beginning his coaching career, Crawford was selected in the fourth-round (No. 70 overall) of the 1980 Entry Draft by Vancouver and skated in 176 career NHL games, all with the Canucks, recording 19 goals and 31 assists for 50 points. He made his NHL debut with Vancouver during the season, which he split between the Canucks and the Dallas Black Hawks of the Central Hockey League. Crawford and his wife Helene have two children daughter Kaitlin and son Dylan. Willie Desjardins Associate Coach Willie Desjardins enters his first season as associate coach for the Dallas Stars. Desjardins, 53, spent the past eight seasons as head coach of the Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL) and also served as general manager of the club from He won the WHL Championship with Medicine Hat in 2004 and Desjardins coached the Tigers at the Memorial Cup Tournament in those two seasons and was runner-up at the 2007 Tournament. The native of Climax, Saskatoon, won a gold medal as an assistant coach for Team Canada at the 2009 World Junior Championships. Desjardins was named head coach of the Canadian national team in the 2010 World Junior Championships and earned a silver medal. He has won National Championships in Asia, Europe and North America. During his time with the Medicine Hat Tigers, Desjardins posted a collective regular season record and a record in the playoffs, and each of his teams have qualified for the playoffs when he has started the season with the club. Desjardins and his wife Rhonda have three children two hockey players in Brayden (17) and Jayce (11), and a gymnast in Sheehan (15).

4 Charlie Huddy Assistant Coach Charlie Huddy enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Dallas Stars after nine campaigns as an assistant coach with the Edmonton Oilers ( ). Huddy, 51, helped lead the Oilers to a record during his nine seasons as assistant coach. Edmonton posted a playoff record during his tenure, including a run to the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals, in which the Oilers fell to Carolina in seven games. Prior to his stint with Edmonton s coaching staff, Huddy served as an assistant for the New York Rangers for two seasons ( ) and was head coach and director of hockey operations for the ECHL s Huntington Blizzard in He was a player/assistant coach with the AHL Rochester Americans in A native of Oshawa, Ont., he skated in 1,107 career games over a 17-year NHL career with Edmonton, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Buffalo, posting 99 goals and 354 assists for 453 points with 785 penalty minutes. Huddy also skated in 183 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, notching 85 points (19 goals, 66 assists) and 135 penalty minutes. A former defenseman, Huddy is one of just seven players to skate in all five of the Oilers Stanley Cup championships (1984, 1985, 1987, 1988 and 1990). He also appeared in the Cup Finals with Edmonton in 1983 and with Los Angeles in 1993, in addition to the 2006 trip as an Oilers assistant. Huddy and his wife Karen have two children - daughter, Amanda and son, Ryan. Stu Barnes Assistant Coach Stu Barnes enters his third season as an assistant coach for the Dallas Stars after a 16-year playing career. Barnes, 39, collected 597 career NHL points (261 goals, 336 assists) in 1,136 NHL games with the Winnipeg Jets, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Buffalo Sabres and Dallas Stars. He also skated in 116 career Stanley Cup Playoff games over 12 postseasons, notching 30 goals and 32 assists for 62 points and reaching the Cup Final twice (Buffalo, 1999; Florida, 1996). Barnes was acquired via trade by Dallas on March 10, 2003, in exchange for Mike Ryan and a second-round draft pick, and in 329 total games with the Stars, recorded 120 points (53 goals and 67 assists). He added 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 38 Stanley Cup Playoff games with Dallas. The native of Spruce Grove, Alta., was originally selected by Winnipeg in the first round (No. 4 overall) of the 1989 Entry Draft. He had a stellar career with the Tri-City Americans in the Western Hockey League and currently co-owns that club with his junior teammate, goaltender Olaf Kolzig. Barnes and his wife, Julie, live in Plano with their daughter, Riley and son, Jack.
