Each team will have 3 Cake Dummies to use (provided). 6 round, 10 round, & 14 round. There will be a surprise element. Please bring enough product with you to complete your 14 twice. 3.) Each team will choose 3 techniques, from the list provided, to use on their cake. 4.) Decorations of your entry will comply with a wedding cake style following the theme of Leather and Lace. 5.) Each team will be allowed 50% or less of pre-made edible (sugar medium type) decorations on their cake. To use any pre-made decorations, an exact duplicate must be made on site. The remaining 50% must be made on site. 6.) Height requirement for the challenge entry will be: Minimum of 16 ~ Maximum of 36 7.) Buttercream, royal icing, gumpaste, candy clay, fondant, and any other medium of choice may be prepared prior to the competition for use in covering your entry or producing decorative pieces. 8.) Each team will have 3 8 tables. Electricity will be available. Should you need more than a standard outlet, please bring your own strip. 9.) 3 judges on site will be judging on the following criteria: Team Interaction/communication, Interpretation of theme, neatness, use of technique, use of color, cleanliness & teamwork. 10.) Each team must provide a sketch of their design to show the judges & audience. 11.) Judges will be inspecting all pre-made sugar pieces. 12.) Challenge starts at 12:30pm and ends at 4:00pm. 13.) Please have a sketch available for the judges & audience. 14.) All entries in bad taste will be disqualified. 15.) All judges decisions will be final. 16.) Applications must be received by May 15, 2012

Please submit your choices to the Show Director prior to the challenge start time.

Date Signature Challenge Waiver: The above competitor agrees to compete in the Cove Country Cake Challenge, held in conjunction with the Cove Country Cake Show & Competition. By signature of this registration and release form, the contestant fully releases all right to photos, publication and other sources of media for all work produced exclusively for, during and in the complete time frame of the event. Contestant is subject to all registration fees (if applicable) and all other related expenses on behalf of him/her entering the above competition. Contestant waives all claims against the Cove Country Cake Show & Competition and Cake Challenge sponsors, all suppliers, judges and others of any claims expressed or implied both written or orally in the context of holding this competition. Contestant agrees to abide by all rules set forth by the sponsors for this competition. All judges decisions are final. Contestant is responsible for all applicable taxes in the event of cash awards and prizes as a contestant of Cove Country Cake Show and Challenge. Contestant shall hold harmless the Cove Country Cake Show and Challenge; and all suppliers, vendors, judges and sponsors and their respective employees and entities in any and all events and results of their participation in the Cove Country Cake Show and Challenge to be held, at the Quality Inn, Bedford, Pa.
