1 INTRODUCTION It is with much pride that we offer these Ten Elite Raff Angus sires to the industry. These sires have either been bred by the Raff family or personally inspected and selected for within herd use by us, all of which now have calves on the ground and many with daughters and grand daughters in production. They are all bulls which we still use extensively in our program either my natural service or AI. We will be calving in excess of 500 cows this year. These cows we believe are unique in the Angus breed today. They have more growth, yield and frame and are of outcross genetics to the main stream Angus population. They have been bred in a harsh northern Australian environment for 46 years under the sole management of the stud founders David and Jill Raff and now their son Andrew and his family. We have resisted the temptation to let numbers do our selection. We have remained totally focused on the commercial reality of Australian beef production. In 1965 we chose Angus as our preferred breed because of their superior meat producing qualities, foraging and maternal ability as well as being polled. Today we are proud to have a herd of cattle that have retained all those fantastic traits yet have comparable growth and yield to any British, European or Tropical breed or their crosses of cattle anywhere in the world. The bulls in this catalogue give fellow stud and commercial Angus breeders access to semen from nearly half a century of breeding and selection by the Raff family. We have also incorporated what we believe to be the best available bulls in Canada and USA, of a similar type and genetic make up with a difference.
