3 Welcome to SMIEC from the SMIEC Committee 18 April 2018 Welcome to the 2018 Snowy Mountains Interschools Equestrian Competition. We are looking forward to four wonderful days of competition with over 250 riders from different schools competing with their horses in a wide range of disciplines. Families can enjoy the picturesque surrounds of the Snowy Mountains at the Station Resort, with comfortable accommodation on site for horses and riders alike. On Saturday the One-Day Event will get the competition started, with 80 riders doing a dressage test, completing the cross-country course and then mastering the jumping round. Over the following days, riders will showjump, do dressage, compete in sporting events, complete the Stockman s Challenge and the Interschools Challenge and then finish with the Showmanship classes and parade on Sunday. There are many prizes to be won, friends to be made, lots of fun experiences to be had, and the Schools Pointscore will be hotly contested for both junior and senior riders. The Snowy Mountains Grammar School P&F canteen will run each day, ensuring that no-one is hungry or thirsty and then, each evening, the Stockwhip Chargrill and Bistro will be open for dinner. We hope you enjoy your time here in Jindabyne - a great place for horse and rider to demonstrate their skills and represent their school. The SMIEC Committee 3
