Demand very good early, moderate to good late. Movement was mostly moderate. First cutting continues to progress and both quality and yields have varied greatly. Overall quality has been mostly good. Western and northern Oklahoma received much needed rain late this week that delayed haying but will benefit new growth. More wheat hay offered this week and grass hay harvest has begun in southern counties. Alfalfa Central Oklahoma: In light test prices steady to higher. Supreme quality large square bales Premium quality Good quality large square and large round bales Eastern Oklahoma: No sales confirmed. Western Oklahoma: Prices mostly steady to higher. Premium quality large square bales , mostly Good quality bunk hay Fair quality large round bales Grass Hay Central Oklahoma: New Crop: Wheat hay in round and large square bales per ton, mostly per ton. Eastern Oklahoma: New crop: Mixed grass hay in 4 x 5 bales Oklahoma Direct Feeder Cattle Trade Receipts: 4,898 Last Week 5,296 Last Year 4,541 Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold higher. Feeder heifers not well tested last week, however a higher undertone was noted. Receipts this week consisted of 100 percent over 600 lbs and 49 percent heifers. Unless otherwise stated prices are FOB weigh point with a 2-3 percent shrink or equivalent and with a 8-12 cent slide on calves and 4-8 cent slide on yearlings from base weights.
