2 Dear sport friends, in the name of Czech Sports Association, Czech Orienteering Federation and the Organising Committee, we would like to invite you to participate in the 19 th World Orienteering s (WUOC), which will be held in, in and its surrounding in the period of 12 th 26 th August will be first country in which will be organized World Orienteering for the third time. Nine years ago, in Plzen, there was sprint as the new discipline included to the Programme for fi rst time, next year the Mixed Sprint Relay will be also included for fi rst time to the Programme. But not only these new disciplines are in our focus. We have chosen the most attractive terrains from surroundings for the top event, what WUOC is, and we hope the competitions in these terrains will bring a lot of excitement for you. Competition Rules The event will follow the Competition Rules for International Orienteering Federation (IOF) Foot Orienteering Events (January 2011) and the FISU Events Regulations. 5.Anti-Doping All competitors will follow FISU Anti-Doping Regulations and the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) Anti-Doping Rules (February 2010). 6. Participants Participant of have to be students who are currently officially registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at the or similar institute whose status is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority or their country, or former students who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year 2013; must be least 17 and less than 28 years of age on January 1st, 2014 (date of birth must be between January 1st, 1986 and December 31st, 1996; must have a full passport-holding citizenship of the country they represent. Each country may enter a team consisting of up to 12 competitors (6 woman and 6 men) and 4 team officials. Maximum number of competitors per country in disciplines: Mixed Sprint Relay 1 team (order of runners woman man woman man ) Long Distance 4 men and 4 women Middle Distance 4 men and 4 women Sprint 4 men and 4 women Relay 2 men s team (3 legs) and 2 women s team (3 legs) 7. Event Centre and Accomodation The official Event Centre of will be in Campus Neredin in western edge of the City. Team offi cials Meeting, Accreditation, Dinning and Accommodation and also running possibility will be very close to each other. Athletes and officials will be accommodated in double rooms in modern Neredin Student Campus of Palacky, WUOC Olympic Village. The capacity in Neredin Student Campus are 270 double-rooms, 500 beds in total. Double room in Neredin Student Campus 8. Embargoed areas The areas indicated in the enclosed map are embargoed areas. It is prohibited to enter these areas for competitors, leaders and others who, through the knowledge of the terrain, may infl uence results of the WUOC competition. Description: Mostly fl at, a lot of vegetation details, with many ditches. Middle runnability and visibility in the forest. Regular path of network. Previous map: Skalky 2001 The colour copy of last version of the previous map will be sent to the National Orienteering Federations on Request together with Bulletin No Training Opportunities and Training Maps Official trainings in relevant terrains will be organized close prior the Event (see the Programme) Other training possibilities on request. 7 11. Punching and Time-keeping System SPORTident will be used on all events with SI-Card 10/11 compatible Control Stations. Runners have own (Each one should provide the number of their SI cards with the entry). 12. Clothing There are no regulations applying to runners concerning the type of clothing they choose to wear but organizers recommend to use long trousers for Long Distance, Middle Distance and Relay. It is not forbidden to use shoes with spikes in the Sprint and Sprint Mixed Relay competitions, but Organizers don t recommend this. Organizers recommend to use shoes for tracks. 13. Health Services The organizer will coordinate healthcare services for participants. The Event Organizer will provide fi rst-aid at the event center and at each competition site. Emergency care and major hospitals are within a 20 minute drive from each of the competition sites. The Event Organizer will not bear responsibility related to medical costs for participants. Each Federation is responsible for insurance of all their members. 14. Weather During August you can expect temperatures from 18º to 23º Celsius during the day, mostly sunny shines, sometimes rain possibility. 15. Media All media representatives are welcome to come and cover all the events. Media services and facilities will be provided at the event center at. Media representatives and any extra representatives of the Federations are requested to register by contacting the Event organization at info@wuoc2014.cz 16. Transport Organisers will arrange for all transportation during the WUOC. Transport of participants, who will not arrive by own cars, will be organized on request from the airports (Prague, Vienna, Bratislava), railway or bus station (). 17. Accreditation Offi cial FISU Accreditation will be on Monday 11th August 2014 at the event centre. 18. Entry fee Entry fee is 60 EUR for 1 day (night) and person according to the Regulations for FISU events and must be paid via Bank transfer until 12th July Please note that the payer is responsible for all bank fees and charges. Entries and other services (accommodation, catering and transport) will not be confi rmed until organizer receives full payment. FISU fee will be claimed in cash upon registration. 21.
