2 1. PACKET PICK-UP Please PRINT OUT YOUR CONFIRMATION and hand it in to registration desks on your arrival. Can t find it? Try searching You're registered for Run or Dye! in your inbox or search your junk folders. What does my confirmation look like? Before you run you need to pick up your race number and swag bag! Here are a few reminders about your packet pick up: You must have signed your waiver electronically before you can pick up your packet. If you haven t signed it yet, please do so by signing into your My Active account HERE. You can also find this link at the bottom of your confirmation . You may pick up packets on behalf of your family, friends or teammates but be sure they have signed their waivers first! If you are under the age of 18 you MUST have a parent or guardian sign your electronic waiver online before the day of the event. Prepare for queues at the packet pick up tents. X T-SHIRT X RACE NUMBER X DYE PACK X WRISTBAND X TATTOO Packet Pick-Up Location: Packet Pick-Up / Registration will be near the stage/start line. Look out for our GREEN FLAGS marked registration you won t miss them! Date / Time Packet Pick Up: Packet Pick-Up / Registration will take place from 8AM 9:30AM on Saturday 11 th July. Please make sure you arrive in plenty of time as there may be queues to pick up your packet. 2

3 2. VENUE & COURSE Please respect the facilities. We ask that you throw away empty DYE packets, tattoo packets, water bottles and other trash in the bins provided and make sure that others do the same! Remember: NO PETS are allowed on the course and it is not permitted for DYE to be taken off the premises. TERRAIN The run is around Kings Park, so please expect the terrain to be flat, and a combination of grass, dirt track and tarmac. >>WHERE: KINGS PARK, BOURNEMOUTH, BH77AE >>WHEN: SATURDAY, 11 th JULY (08:00AM 12:30PM) <<< Please see the course map. The course will be signed with arrows so there s no way you ll get lost! There will be a series of DYE stations to get you as multicoloured as possible (as you can see marked on the map!) 3

4 3. GETTING TO KINGS PARK / PARKING We highly recommend you use Bournemouth s great public transport system! By Train The best train route to Kings Park is from Bournemouth Train Station to Pokesdown, which is a 15 minute walk to the event site. The trains run twice every hour and are only a five minute journey. By Bus Kings Park can be reached from Bournemouth centre (Gervis Place - Stand M) and from Bournemouth Train Station by bus services; 2, 2a and 2b to the Kings Park Bus Stop. By Car If approaching from the east, please take the M3 until junction 13. Exit the M3 at junction 13 onto the M27, follow the M27/A31 until roundabout with the A338. Use the southbound ramp of the A338, after 8 miles take the exit towards A3049/ Boscombe. This will shortly bring you to Kings Park roundabout described in the parking instructions below. Take Kings Park Drive until you arrive at the entrance to the car park. If approaching from the east please take the A35 until the Westbourne roundabout. Please take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A338, follow the A338 to the St Paul roundabout. Travel past the Asda superstore and take the first exit onto Holdenhurst Rd. Follow Holdenshurst Rd all the way to Kings Park roundabout, take the exit onto Kings Park Drive arrive at the entrance to the car park. When you have parked up. Follow the Run o Dye flags to the event village. 4

5 PARKING Parking We have limited amount of car parking in the park that will be operating on a first come first serve basis. The car park will be open from 07:30 on the morning of the event. The car park is free, please arrive early to ensure you get a space and avoid the ques. To access the car park please turn off Kings Park roundabout onto Kings Park Drive bringing you to AFC Bournemouth. This will be signposted for you, and staff will be at the entrance of the car park to greet you. Alternative Parking Alternative parking is available just a 15 minute walk from the event site. This is situated at the Boscombe Sovereign Centre (Christchurch Rd, BH1 4SX). This is a pay and display car park and will cost 2.50 for the duration of your stay. 5

6 10:00 09:30 13:00 12:30 08:00 BOURNEMOUTH 4. EVENT DAY INFORMATION START TIME DON T BE LATE! DYE Runners racing the rainbow will be sent in waves every 3 minutes. The waves will start at 10:00AM and end at 10.20AM Please don t be late! Runners are sent on a first come first serve basis so plan your morning accordingly. If you are planning on doing more walking or dancing than running rather than aiming for a PB, please join a later wave and let the faster runners set off first. COURSE AND COLOUR STATIONS Every 1KM you ll run, walk and dance through our DYE Stations. Our highly trained DYE Crew will be ready to administer Random Acts of DYE (they ll be throwing colour all over you!) If you d rather dance, walk or jog slowly, no problem just join the back of the start queue. Remember, the race isn t timed, and this isn t a competition! DYE FESTIVAL At the end of the course, head over to the stage for the DYE Festival. MC Sam will be blasting more DYE out with music and colour so you can dance, party, play...and of course throw tons of colour all over your family and friends! You get a free colour packet as part of your pre-race swag and there s plenty more to buy at the Run or DYE swag store. NO BAG DROP Please only bring essentials that you don t mind running with to the event - there is no designated bag drop. 10:20 10:30 EVENT DAY SCHEDULE: PACKET PICK UP OPENS! You will need to pick up your packet before you can run. This begins on site at 8:00AM. Come early, there may be queues! PRE RUN FESTIVAL KICKS OFF! Don t forget to stop by our store before the race! We ve got awesome swag and of course TONS of DYE! THE RUN BEGINS! Runners are sent on a first come first serve basis! Get to the chute by 10:00AM. The last wave is sent around 10:20AM THE DYE FESTIVAL STARTS! LAST WAVE OF DYE RUNNERS SENT THE DYE FESTIVAL ENDS THE SITE CLOSES: We all head home, and check out how fab we look in our photos reliving our Run or DYE experience! 6

7 5. SWAG STORE! Our SWAG STORE will be open from Registration right through until after the DYE Festival. So be sure to save some money for a clean souvenir t-shirt to change into at the end of the day! 8 6. GENERAL INFORMATION SAFETY WHAT TO WEAR At Run or DYE you re the canvas so wear whatever you want! Lots of runners wear white to show off all the colour while others come dressed in crazy costumes. Just remember, whatever you wear will get covered in coloured DYE and while our DYE is designed to be washable, we don t do your laundry. So wear something you don t mind getting a little colourful! PHOTO POLICY We want you to make memories and take pictures! Your smartphones and point and shoot cameras are welcome! There will also be professional photographers on the course so remember to smile at the camera! Want to find your totally awesome photos taken by our camera crew? Just follow the steps below! FIND YOUR PHOTOS! 1. WEAR YOUR RACE NUMBER ON THE FRONT OF YOUR TSHIRT DURING THE RACE 2. FIND AN OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER TO TAKE YOUR PHOTO! (TRY TO GET YOUR RACE NUMBER IN THE PHOTO) 3. KEEP/REMEMBER YOUR RACE NUMBER 4. GO TO 5. SEARCH BY YOUR RACE NUMBER AND PURCHASE YOUR PHOTOS! 1. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER: Be sure to drink plenty of water before, during and after the race. Runners receive a drink at the finish line, but we strongly suggest that you bring your own to stay hydrated before and during the event as well. 2. USE COMMON SENSE WHEN THROWING DYE: Don t throw DYE directly in peoples faces, don t throw DYE at babies or at service animals and don t throw DYE at photographers with expensive equipment. If you see anyone throwing DYE inappropriately please report it to a member of staff. 3. REPORT SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR OR PEOPLE WHO LOOK LIKE THEY NEED ASSISTANCE: Run or DYE participants are the best on the planet and we ve never had any problems at any of our events. Still, if you see anyone acting suspiciously or endangering others please report it to a volunteer or staff member. If you happen to run past someone who seems to be struggling or appear they need medical assistance, let a volunteer know so that we can get them the help they might need. 4. DO NOT LEAVE BAGS UNATTENDED: Any bags left unattended will be immediately confiscated by event security! WEATHER We will hold Run or DYE as scheduled even if it is raining! However, our first priority is your safety and there may be occasions such as high wind or lightening- that will postpone the run. If the weather looks threatening as we lead up to the event, keep your eyes on our Facebook page and your for updates. 8

Julia s House is there year-round and in a crisis, offering emotional and practical support, emergency respite and endof-life care. It supports the whole family, not just the sick child, organising social activities for parents and siblings. Government funding accounts for just 7 per cent of the 4.6m Julia s House needs to raise in 2015 to run this vital free service. 9
