SUNDAY 1ST JULY 2018 final instructions and essential information This race will be run under UK Athletics Rules, the course has been officially measured taking the shortest route without cutting corners or going on any grass verges. EA License : Certificate of course accuracy :

2 Race Numbers If you entered on or before Thursday 14th June you will receive your race number in the post by Wednesday 27th June For entries after Thursday 14th June you will need to collect your race number from Event HQ in Jephson gardens on Sunday 1st July from 7.30am-8.30am. For any issues with your race number or on the day visit Event HQ in Jephson gardens. This Leamington Spa Half Marathon is brought to you by Raceways Events Community Interest Company, which gives all of its profits to our charity Kids Run Free. Please ensure you give this Race Pack a quick read before the day as it has all the important info you may need. We hope the training is coming on well and looking forward to meeting you all on Sunday 1st July! WHAT TIME? Starts at 9am prompt warm up 8.50am Baggage drop opens 8am Event HQ opens 7.30am Event finish 12.15pm Before you set off Please don t risk running if you are unwell Plan your journey and allow plenty of time to park Remember to bring your race number with you it has your timing chip attached to it and there is a tear off baggage strip at the bottom. Make sure you write your name, emergency contacts and medical information on the back of your number. Remember only bone conductor headphones are permitted in the race

The following link will give you a variety of car parking options Toilets There will be toilet facilities at drinks stations and at the start/finish. The event village is in Jephson Gardens which has public toilets onsite with two disabled toilets near the clock tower (please bring your access key).

The course will be clearly sign posted and marshalled on the day, however in an emergency always follow marshal instructions and make way for emergency vehicles if they need to pass. Please be kind to all of our volunteer marshals they are working hard early on a Sunday morning for FREE to make this an enjoyable and fun event for all! FIRST AID Please listen to Marshals on route and if you or someone close by requires medical assistance approach your nearest marshal who will assist. There are fixed First Aid stations with roaming medical provision access across the course should you need it you re in safe hands START ELEVATION 54M MAX ELEVATIONP 103M

5 The RACE Rubbish See below the link to the final route map it is also on our website. Which will be clearly sign If you are bringing gels with you please ensure you carry any rubbish with you or pop in a bin we have a no trace policy at Raceways, all bins are located around drinks stations and within the Event Village as they have been kindly sponsored by Fortress for the event This is a traffic free course with rolling road closures although we cannot always predict what the general public might do so please be aware of what is going on around you at all times. Mile markers are clearly displayed throughout the route to keep you on track There is a lead car kindly provided by Kia Warwick which will be starting the race followed by a tail bike. As you come into Leamington and enter into your tour of the parks a bike will take over from the car to finish the remainder of the course There are also pacers so look out for them at the start who can be found with bright orange balloons and times on their vests use them to beat your personal targets and be sure to say thanks when you cross the line! Drinks Stations There will be 5 drinks stations in total including one at the start/ finish and all will have water and electrolyte drink on offer. Our cups might look plastic but they definitely are not and they are fully compostable and biodegradable and provided by our sponsor BioPac! We have been working with Plastic Free Leamington and Warwick SAS to reduce single use plastics from the event and therefore pledged to eliminate plastic cups, bottles and bags from our event. 6 THE FINISH The finish is back where we started give yourself a pat on the back when you cross the line you ve been part of the #LeamHalf from the start! You will be directed down Newbold Terrace to collect your medal, fruit (Kindly sponsored by Morrisons in Leamington Spa) and goody bag containing your t shirt and Pulsin bar before heading into the event village in Jephson Gardens. After the race you will also have access to your online goody bag designed by RacePerks which is full of discounts and promotions one offer to look out for in there is the early bird discount code for the Alcester Seco 10k on Sunday 7th October don t miss out! PRIZES Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female overall will be presented at on our stage at near our finishline at approximately 10.30am after the final person of the 6 finishes and the remaining category winners will be announced by and contacted the week following the race. 8 Kids Fun Run InfoRMATION up next... Please come along to the Kids Zone HQ in Jephson gardens and collect your race numbers on the day from 8am and there will be kids activities run by Everyone Active from 8.30am. The childrens warm up for the run will take place in Jephson gardens shortly before all the children are led into position for the race starting at 9:20am. about kids run free Leamington Spa based children s charity Kids Run Free is the official charity partner of the Leaming-ton Spa Half Marathon. As the personal mission of lifelong friends and co-founders of Raceways Events Community Inter-est Company, Martine Verweij and Catherine O Carroll set up Kids Run Free in Whilst organising running and triathlon events for adults, Martine and Catherine saw a need to cre-ate opportunities to inspire children to run. They believed that running events had to be more ac-cessible and inclusive the challenge was to make them more regular and free for children of all abilities to take part. a big ask but through Kids Run Free s Marathon Kids and Park Kids pro-grammes, by the end of 2018 it is anticipated that 110,850 children will be running on a regular ba-sis. We re sure you ll agree; that s amazing! LEAMINGTON TOWN COUNCIL We are thrilled to announce the Alcester 10k is back for its fourth year on Sunday 7th October 2018! Starting and finishing in the beautiful market town of Alcester near Stratford Upon Avon it s a race not to be missed! Starting on the High Street the route takes runners out into the stunning country lanes of Warwickshire for a single loop with two drinks stations along the way, finishing with welcome cheers from the friendly locals along with t shirts and medals for all runners. Chip timing, postrace snacks and race photography all come as standard from Raceways and afterwards why not stay and enjoy what the town has to offer from its many lovely cafes and pubs? As with all Raceways events there will be a FREE to enter 1Km Kids Fun Run which starts and ends next to the adult finish line and all children receive a FREE medal, so the whole family can enjoy the fun!
