3 Racers, On behalf of KnoxVelo, Southern Cycling Operations, the race committee, and our sponsors, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2016 Three River Rumble and the 2016 State Championship Criterium! The goal of the Three River Rumble (TRR) is to showcase Roane County and the cities of Harriman, Kingston and Rockwood, all charming, historic and vibrant communities. We hope you enjoy Roane County, get to know the residents, and take in some of the beautiful countryside as you re rolling past. We also hope you will visit all of our sponsors and thank them and our volunteers, as we would be unable to bring you the Three River Rumble without their generous support. Thank you for your participation and support. We re excited that you have chosen to join us and look forward to a safe and successful race weekend for all. 20 THREE RIVER RUMBLE OMNIUM Points Competition Pro/Cat 1 Cat 2 Cat 3 Cat 4 Women 1/2/3 Women Cat 4 Masters 35+ Cat 1-4 Masters 45+ Cat 1-4 Masters 50+ Cat 1-5 Masters 60+ Cat 1-5 Omnium participants must pre-register for an omnium and start each event (RR, TT and crit) in order to qualify for omnium payouts. To be considered a starter for each event, you must be entered into the final results for that event, whether it is an actual finish position, DNF (did not finish), or DNP (did not place). IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY (not the promoter s) to make sure that your results (even DNF s and DNP s) are documented for each event in order to maintain your eligibility. Riders DO NOT have to finish each event to retain omnium eligibility. If you are in a race with combined fields who have separate omniums (Pro/1/2, Masters 35/45, Masters 50/60), you will receive omnium points based on your placing among the riders in your omnium category. For example, Pro/1 and Cat 2 are separate omniums but they race together. If a Cat 2 rider is fifth overall in the Pro/1/2 road race but first in Cat 2, he would receive first place points in the Cat 2 omnium. If a Pro/1 rider is tenth overall but eighth among the P1 riders, he will receive eighth place points in the Pro/1 omnium. Men Cat 2 will have a separate omnium category and payout. For the individual Pro/1/2 races (RR, TT and crit) the payouts are based on Pro/1/2 with Cat 2 bonus. Masters 35/45 will have separate omnium categories and payouts. For the individual Masters 35/45 races (RR, TT and crit) the payouts are based on Masters 35/45 with Masters 45+ bonus. Masters 50/60 will have separate omnium categories and payouts. For the individual Masters 50/60 races (RR, TT and crit) the payouts are based on Masters 50/60 with Masters 60+ bonus.
21 Omnium points for each event (RR, TT and crit) will be awarded from top to bottom of the event results, without regard to the omnium eligibility of each rider. For example, if you are the second place road race finisher, you will receive second place omnium points regardless of whether or not the race winner is eligible for the omnium. We score the omnium this way because we do not want the omnium points awarded in an event to change throughout the weekend, which would be the case if we only awarded points to the omnium-eligible participants. Omnium eligibility for riders can and will change throughout the weekend as riders potentially do not start an event. That would cause a change in points for all prior events, creating a scenario where the omnium points are a moving target all weekend. Omnium points will be awarded according to the following scale: Place RR TT Crit Please be aware that omnium results posted after the time trial and crit will reflect the riders at that point in time who have started each stage. It is possible that this list will shrink throughout the weekend as riders DNS stages. Complete and final omnium results will be posted after the protest period is complete for each corresponding road race. Omnium ties will be broken as follows: 1. Greatest # of 1st place finishes, then greatest # of 2nd place finishes, greatest # of 3 rd place finishes, etc. until the tie is broken. 2. In the event that two or more riders are still tied after the above tiebreakers, the highest placing rider in the Road Race will win the tie.
