6 Classification Procedure Final classification results will be posted at the Recovery area before the end of the paratriathlon race, according to the ITU Competition Rules at 13:00h.

7 Waiting List Immediately post briefing, if necessary: Wait list exists for this event. Start list athletes are not present at the athletes briefing, and who have not informed the TD of their absence, will be immediately replaced with the first same gender athlete in the waiting list, who is present at the briefing. No wait list athletes are present, a random list will be used from the balance of the wait list The wait list athlete must be present at the briefing to be assigned to the start list.

8 Timetables and Schedules Immediately after the briefing: Race packet distribution: PT1: Stickers for helmet, handcycle, wheelchairs, daily wheelchair, bag Body decals for athlete Bib numbers for handbike/wheeler and personal handler(s) + Handlers vests Pasta party tickets/accreditation PT2, PT3 and PT4 Stickers for helmet and bike Stickers for prosthesis,crutches, bag, etc. Body decals for athlete Pasta party ticket/accreditation PT2, PT3 and PT4 handlers have to be approved by ITU ( no approval= no handler)

14 Handler Information No Personal handlers for athletes PT2/3 and 4 as per rule 17.6 b) i) unless you have received written approval from ITU For this race, there are no PT2/3 and 4 athletes with approved handlers Personal handlers are specifically allowed to assist Paratriathletes by: Helping with prosthetic devices/assistive devices: Lifting the athletes in and out of handcycles and wheelchairs Removing wetsuits or clothing Repairing flats, punctures and helping with other equipment All handlers shall be subject to the Competition Rules Any action taken by the handler which propels the competitor forward may at the discretion of the RR, be grounds for a time penalty or DSQ Personal handlers can only assist their athlete

15 Allowed Equipment - uniform BIKE & RUN Athletes can wear a long sleeved shirt unterneath their uniform but must wear it the entire event. Athletes will not be allowed to remove the shirt at any time during the event. Arm warmers will be allowed and can be removed during the event only in transition. Do NOT remove arm warmers during the race and hand them to someone along the course. You may be disqualified if seen doing this. PT 5- B1 athletes must wear black-out glasses on the run. If you would prefer to wear a jacket during the event the jacket must be clear /transparent.

16 Check in Procedures Transition Area A folding chair will be provided to each of the athletes To add any equipment to the bike, approval is to obtained from the TD at the end of the briefing Only athletes and their handlers/guides will be allowed in the TA. Running shoes on the ground, helmet on the bike Do not leave your helmet fastened in the transition The athlete who misses to comply with this rule will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1 Individual racks: first transition frontwheel pointing to the middle

17 Pre-Start Procedure 10 minutes before the start, line up Order will be wave number, then race number Move to the start line Select your position.

19 False Start Procedures Several horn blasts TO s in front of you Everyone goes back to the startline Restart of the race Valid start but with early starters: If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the false starter will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1. (during the time penalty athlete can not take any equipment.)

23 Transition Area Individual Bike Racks every 2 m / 3 m - numbered, name and country flag All used equipment in your area > Not doing so = time penalty Helmet MUST be fastened before un-racking bike Mount line on the end of TA1 ( white line) PT1 must stop completely at mount & dismount lines ( also after 1st RUN!!!!!) Personal handlers should stay next to the athletes bike rack during the leg. Handlers moving to and from TA should inform TO s PT1 athletes must put the bib on the handcycle.

28 Draft Zones Legal distance: 12m between bikes (from your front wheel to their front wheel) Max. 20 sec. allowed to pass through In case of penalty: stop at the penaltybox > 1 minute only when returning to T2 Not stopping at the penaltybox or having a second drafting offence: DSQ It is the athletes responability to stop at the penaltybox numbers are not noted on boards

34 RUN PENALTY BOX Run penaltybox is for infringements in TA1, Run and TA2 e.g.: mount before mount line, dismount after dismount line, equipment outside your area, guide leading the athlete, PT1 drafting on run etc. Location: Before entering the finish chute, near busstop (you just pass one time the PB!!!) Information: It s athletes responsibility to present themselves in the PB Procedure: 10 second time penalty if you do not stop it will result in a DSQ

35 Post Race Procedures No congestion in finish area: go to the mixed zone/ recovery area Anti-doping Control: photo ID is needed for every athlete to go for testing, take place in the IBIS Hotel La Cité (transfers by LOC) Results will be posted at the athletes lounge.

36 Coaches Areas Accreditations will be distributed to those that have been entered through the online system by their NF They will have access to: 1- athletes lounge / post recovery area 2- Beside PB s, wheelstations

37 Medal Ceremony 13:30h Ceremony podium Please dress up Ambush marketing is defined as: Deliberately using the opportunity of live television and media photographers to acquire additional exposure for your sponsor product, apparel or brand. Please follow the ambush marketing rules Medalists: please, stay near the podium till ceremony is finished, photo!!!!!

38 Important Updates There is no bike familiarization/ warm up on the course as roads are used for logistic purposes PT1 and PT2 athletes having received 2 chips, please ensure to return all of them. PT5 athlete and guide receives timingchip Personal Handlers: bring vest to Athletes lounge after race Points to be awarded will be reduced to 75% of the original points.
