2 LIMITED WARRANTY Convey-All warrants to the buyer that the new machinery is free from defects in material and workmanship. This warranty is only effective as to any new machinery which has not been altered, changed, repaired or treated since its delivery to the buyer, other than by Convey-All or its authorized dealers or employees, and does not apply to accessories, attachments, tools or parts, sold or operated with new machinery, if they have not been manufactured by Convey-All. Convey-All shall only be liable for defects in the materials or workmanship attributable to faulty material or bad workmanship that can be proved by the buyer, and specifically excludes liability for repairs arising as a result of normal wear and tear of the new machinery or in any other manner whatsoever, and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, excludes application or installation of parts not completed in accordance with Convey-All operator s manual, specifications, or printed instructions. Written notice shall be given by registered mail, to Convey-All within seven (7) days after the defect shall have become apparent or the repairs shall have become necessary, addressed as follows: Convey-All Industries Inc, Box 2008, 130 Canada Street Winkler Manitoba R6W 4B7 Canada This warranty shall expire one (1) year after the date of delivery of the new machinery. If these conditions are fulfilled, Convey-All shall at its own cost and at its own option either repair or replace any defective parts provided that the buyer shall be responsible for all expenses incurred as a result of repairs, labor, parts, transportation or any other work, unless Convey-All has authorized such expenses in advance. The warranty shall not extend to any repairs, changes, alterations, or replacements made to the new equipment other than by Convey-All or its authorized dealers or employees. This warranty extents only to the original owner of the new equipment. This warranty is limited to the terms stated herein and is in lieu of any other warranties whether expressed or implied, and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, excluded all warranties, expressed or implied or conditions whether statutory or otherwise as to quality and fitness for any purpose of the new equipment. Convey-All disclaims all liability for incidental or consequential damages. This machine is subject to design changes and Convey-All shall not be required to retrofit or exchange items on previously sold units except at its own option. WARRANTY VOID IF NOT REGISTERED

9 Section 1: INTRODUCTION Congratulations on your choice of a Convey-All Mini Tower to complement your seed delivery system in your agricultural operation. This equipment has been designed and manufactured to exceed the exacting standards for such equipment in the agricultural industry and will keep your seed delivery operation working at optimum efficiency. This manual covers the Tube Conveyor manufactured by Convey-All Industries Inc. Safe, efficient and trouble free operation of your mini tower system requires that you and anyone else who will be operating or maintaining the machine, read and understand the Safety, Operation, Service & Maintenance and Trouble Shooting information contained within this Operator s Manual. Use the Table of Contents as a guide to locate required information. Keep this manual handy for frequent reference and to pass on to new operators or owners. 11 Section 2: SAFETY This Safety Alert symbol means: ATTENTION! BECOME ALERT! YOUR SAFETY IS INVOLVED! Why is SAFETY important to you? 3 Big Reasons: Accidents Disable and Kill Accidents Cost Accidents Can Be Avoided The Safety Alert symbol identifies important safety messages on the Convey-All Mini Tower and in this manual. When you see this symbol, be alert to the possibility of equipment damage, personal injury or death. Follow the instructions in the safety message. SIGNAL WORDS: Note the use of the signal words: DANGER, WARNING and CAUTION with the safety messages. The appropriate signal word for each message has been selected using the following guide-lines. DANGER - Indicates an imminently hazardous situation that, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury. This signal word is to be limited to the most extreme situations typically for machine components which, for functional purposes, cannot be guarded. WARNING - Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury, and includes hazards that are exposed when guards are removed. It may also be used to alert against unsafe practices. CAUTION - Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury. 12 2.1 SAFETY ORIENTATION YOU are responsible for the SAFE operation and maintenance of your Convey-All Mini Scale Tower. Be sure that you and anyone else who will be operate, maintain or working around it be familiar with the safety, operating and maintenance procedures in this manual. This manual will take you step-by-step through your working day and alerts you to all good safety practices that should be adhered to while operating the tower. Remember, you are the key to safety. Good safety practices not only protect you but also the people around you. Make these practices a working part of your safety program. Be certain that everyone operating this equipment follows all the safety precautions. Most accidents can be prevented. Do not risk injury or death by ignoring good safety practices. Mini Scale Tower owners must give operating instructions to operators or employees before allowing them to operate the machine. Procedures must be reviewed annually thereafter, as per OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulation The most important safety device on this equipment is a SAFE operator. It is the operator s responsibility to read and understand all safety and operating instructions in this manual and to follow them. A person who has not read and understood all operating and safety instructions is not qualified to operate the machine. An untrained operator exposes himself and bystanders to possible serious injury or death. Think SAFETY! Work SAFELY! 2.2 GENERAL SAFETY 1. Read and understand the Operator s Manual and all safety decals before operating, maintaining, adjusting the tower. 2. Only trained competent persons shall operate the unit. An untrained operator is not qualified to operate the machine. 3. Have a first-aid kit available for use should the need arise and know how to use it. 4. Provide a fire extinguisher for use in case of an accident. Store in a highly visible place. 5. Do not allow children, spectators or bystanders within hazard area of machine. 6. Wear appropriate protective gear. This list includes but is not limited to: Hard hat Protective shoes with slip resistant soles Eye protection Heavy gloves Hearing protection Respirator or filter mask Hi-Visibility Safety Vest 7. Review safety related items annually with all personnel who will be operating or maintaining the mini scale tower. 2-2

13 2.3 EQUIPMENT SAFETY GUIDELINES 1. Safety of the operator and bystanders is one of the main concerns in designing and developing this Mini Scale Tower. However, every year many accidents occur which could have been avoided by a few seconds of thought and a more careful approach to handling equipment. You, the operator, can avoid many accidents by observing the following precautions described in this section. To avoid personal injury or death, study these precautions and insist those working with you, or for you, follow them also. 2. In order to provide a better view, certain photographs or illustrations in this manual may show an assembly with a safety guards removed. Equipment should never be operated in this condition. Keep all guards in place. If removal becomes necessary for repairs, replace the guard prior to use. 3. Replace any safety or instruction decal that is not readable or is missing. 6. This equipment is dangerous to children and persons unfamiliar with its operation. The operator should be a responsible, properly trained and physically able person familiar with farm machinery and trained in this equipments operations. If the elderly are assisting with farm work, their physical limitations need to be recognized and accommodated. 7. Never exceed the limits of a piece of machinery. If its ability to do a job, or to do so safely, is in question - DON T TRY IT. 8. Do not modify the equipment in any way. Unauthorized modification result in serious injury or death and may impair the function and life of the equipment. 9. The design and configuration of this conveyor includes safety decals and equipment. They need to be clean, readable and in good condition. 4. Never use alcoholic beverages or drugs which can hinder alertness or coordination while operating this equipment. Consult your doctor about operating this machine while taking prescription medications. 5. Do not allow persons to operate this unit until they have read this manual. They should have a thorough understanding of the safety precautions. Review the safety instructions with all users annually. 2-3

14 2.4 SAFETY TRAINING 1. Safety is a primary concern in the design and manufacture of our products. Unfortunately, our efforts to provide safe equipment can be wiped out by a single careless act of an operator or bystander. 2. Hazard control and accident prevention are dependent upon the personnel operating and maintaining the mini tower. Their awareness, concern, prudence and proper training are crucial. 3. It has been said, The best safety feature is an informed, careful operator. We ask you to be that kind of an operator. It is the operator s responsibility to read and understand all safety and operating instructions in the manual and to follow them. 4. Working with unfamiliar equipment can lead to careless injuries. Read this manual before operating, to acquaint yourself with the tower. If this unit is used by any person other than yourself, or is loaned or rented, it is the owner s responsibility to make certain that the operator, prior to operating: Reads and understands the operator s manuals. Is instructed in safe and proper use. 5. Know your controls and how to stop all equipment attached to this tower quickly in an emergency. Read this, and all appropriate manuals. 6. Train all new personnel and review instructions frequently with existing workers. Be certain only a properly trained and physically able person will operate the machinery. A person who has not read and understood all operating and safety instructions is not qualified to operate the machine. An untrained operator exposes himself and bystanders to possible serious injury or death. 2.5 SAFETY DECALS 1. Keep safety decals clean and legible at all times. 2. Replace safety decals that are missing or have become illegible. 3. Replaced parts that displayed a safety decal should also display the current decal. 4. All safety decals have a part number in the lower right hand corner. Use this part number when ordering replacements. 5. Safety decals are available from your authorized distributor, dealer s parts department or from Convey-All Industries Inc How to Install Safety Decals: 1. Be sure that the installation area is clean and dry. 2. Ensure temperature is above 50 F (10 C). 3. Determine exact position before you remove the backing paper. 4. Remove the smallest portion of the split backing paper. 5. Align the decal over the specified area and carefully press the small portion with the exposed sticky backing in place. 6. Slowly peel back the remaining paper and carefully smooth the remaining portion of the decal in place. 7. Small air pockets can be pierced with a pin and smoothed out using the piece of decal backing paper. If the elderly are assisting with farm work, their physical limitations need to be recognized and accommodated. 2-4

15 2.6 WORK PREPARATION 1. Never operate the mini scale tower until you have read and completely understand this manual, and each of the safety messages found on the safety decals on the power unit and machine. 2. Personal protection equipment including: hard hat safety glasses safety shoes gloves are recommended during operation, adjustment, maintaining and repairing the tower. 3. Do not allow long hair, loose fitting clothing or jewelry to be around equipment. 5. Clear working area of stones, branches or hidden obstacles that might be hooked or snagged, causing injury or damage. 6. Operate only in daylight or good artificial light. 7. Be sure machine is properly mounted, adjusted and in good operating condition. 8. Ensure that all safety shielding and safety decals are properly installed and in good condition. 9. Before starting, inspect the unit for any loose bolts, worn parts or cracks. Make necessary repairs. Always follow maintenance instructions. 4. PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO LOUD NOISE MAY CAUSE PERMANENT HEARING LOSS! Agricultural equipment can often be noisy enough to cause permanent, partial hearing loss. We recommend that you wear hearing protection on a full-time basis if the noise in the Operator s position exceeds 80db. Noise over 85db on a long-term basis can cause severe hearing loss. Noise over 90db adjacent to the operator over a long-term basis may cause permanent, total hearing loss. Note: Hearing loss from loud noise (tractors, chain saws, radios, etc.) is cumulative over a lifetime without hope of natural recovery. 2-5

16 2.7 ASSEMBLY SAFETY 1. Read and understand the Assembly Section and all safety signs before starting. 2. Follow good safety practices: Keep service area clean and dry. Be sure electrical outlets and tools are properly grounded. Use adequate light for the job at hand. 3. Use properly sized tools, stands, jacks and hoists at all times. 4. Have two people available to handle heavy and/ or bulky components. 5. Position in a large open area to allow access from all sides during assembly. 6. Keep the assembly area neat and clean to prevent slipping or tripping. 7. Place safety stands under the machine or components before going underneath the component for assembly. 8. Stay away from overhead obstructions when lifting the components during assembly. Contact with obstructions can damage components or cause them to fail. 9. For North America, make certain that sufficient amperage, at proper voltage and appropriate frequency for your geographical area is available before connecting power. All wiring should comply with ANSI/NFPA 70 electrical requirements. Have a licensed electrician provide power to the machine. 10. Tighten all fasteners to their specified torque before using the machine. 2.8 OPERATING SAFETY 1. Be sure that anyone who will be operating the tower and associated equipment, or around the unit reads and understands all the operating, maintenance and safety information in all the operator s manuals. Review this manual annually. 2. Clean or replace all safety decals if they cannot be clearly read and understood. 3. Stop any attached or unloading equipment. Place all controls in neutral, and wait for all moving parts to stop before servicing, adjusting, repairing or unplugging the tower. 4. Keep all bystanders, especially children, away from all machines when loading, unloading or carrying out maintenance work. 5. Establish a lock-out tag-out policy for the work site. Be sure all personnel are trained in and follow all procedures. Lock-out, tag-out all power sources before servicing the unit or working around loading/unloading equipment. 6. Be familiar with machine hazard area. If anyone enters hazard areas, shut down machine immediately. Clear the area before restarting. 7. Do not place hands, arms or body between the tower s components. This will prevent pinching or crushing, if something moves unexpectedly. 8. Keep hands, feet, hair and clothing away from all moving and/or rotating parts. 9. Keep working area clean and free of debris to prevent slipping or tripping. 10. Do not operate machine when any guards are removed. 2-6

17 2.9 MAINTENANCE SAFETY 1. Review the Operator s Manual and all safety items before working with, maintaining or operating the mini tower s. 2. Place all controls in neutral or off, stop engines, remove ignition key on all associated equipment. Wait for all moving parts to stop before servicing, adjusting, repairing or unplugging the tower. 3. Follow good shop practices: Keep service area clean and dry. Be sure electrical outlets and tools are properly grounded. Use adequate light for the job at hand. 4. Keep hands, feet, hair and clothing away from all moving and/or rotating parts. 5. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation. Never operate engines in a closed building. The exhaust fumes may cause asphyxiation. 6. Clear the area of bystanders, especially children, when carrying out any maintenance and repairs or making any adjustments. 7. Before resuming work, install and secure all guards when maintenance work is completed ELECTRICAL SAFETY 1. Have only a qualified electrician supply power. All wiring should comply with the ANSI/NFPA 70 electrical requirements. 2. Turn machine OFF, shut down and lock out power supply and wait for all moving parts to stop before assembling, servicing, adjusting, maintaining or repairing. 3. Disconnect power before resetting any motor. 4. Replace any damaged electrical plugs, cords, switches and components immediately. 5. Do not work on the tower s electrical system unless the power supply is locked out LOCK-OUT TAG-OUT SAFETY 1. Establish a formal Lock-Out Tag-Out program for your operation. 2. Train all operators and service personnel before allowing them to work around the unloading system. 3. Provide tags on the machine and a sign-up sheet to record tag out details. 8. Keep safety decals clean. Replace any decal that is damaged or not clearly visible. 2-7

19 Section 3: ASSEMBLY Assembly Safety Read and understand the Assembly Instructions before starting. Follow good safety practices: Keep assembly area clean and dry. Be sure electrical outlets and tools are properly grounded. Use adequate light for the job at hand. Use properly sized tools, stands, jacks and hoists at all times. Use winch of sufficient capacity. Two people should handle heavy and/or bulky components. Tighten all fasteners to their specified torque before using the machine. When you receive the mini tower unit on site we recommend that you check your parts list provided, to ensure that you have all the parts required for setup. The following assembly instructions should make it a simple process to set up your mini tower. 3.1 TOWER ASSEMBLY 1. The box with the top-most (receiving) hopper come as one piece. 2. Install both the top and side hatches. Fig 2 - Frame and Top Hopper Fig 3 - Hatches 3-1

20 3. Thread the cord through the arm in the top hatch. Loop the cord and secure with a cable clamp. 4. Thread the rest of the cord through the eyelets in the top and side panels. 5. Install the gate assembly under the top hopper. Fig 4 - Threaded Cord The gate handles must be underneath the unit. They are zip tied for shipping. Fig 5 - Gate Assembly, Shown Upsidedown a b Note: Attach the gate assembly, so it leads out to the same side as where the hole for the level sensor is. If not placed on this side, it will interfere with the installation of the hanging scale load cells. Bolt the gate assembly to the bottom of the hopper using carriage bolts. The washers and nuts should be attached on the outside of the hopper. Fig 6 - Gate Assembly Bolt Holes (a), Sensor Hole (b) 6. Install the gate assembly on the middle hopper. 21 7. Insert the middle hopper into the box. Note: When the hopper is hung by the weigh scales, in it s final position, the gate assembly must lead out in the same direction as the top hopper s gate assembly. Generally, the middle hopper is shipped as a separate item. If requested, it will be shipped hanging from 2x4s, inside the box, as illustrated. Fig 8 - Middle Hopper Gate Assembly 8. Bolt the hinge plate, to the frame on all four corners, top and bottom. Fig 9 - Installing the Middle Hopper Use the plate with the pin open to the top, and the knuckle on the bottom. 9. Bolt the other hinge plate, to all four the doors. Fig 10 - Hinge Section Bolted to Frame Be sure the knuckle is positioned at the top. Fig 11 - Hinge Section Bolted to Door 3-3

22 10. Install the left-hand side doors onto the hopper box. Note: The right-hand doors (on both sides) have extra holes along it s length for the latching mechanism. 11. Place the bottom pieces of the hinge brackets on the right-hand side door, over the pre-drilled holes. Lay the latching bar over the brackets. Fig 12 - Left-Hand Door Installed 12. Lay the second set of hinge brackets over the bar. Fig 13 - Latching Bar Also, position the locking bracket in place for the handle. 13. Bolt all brackets into place, to secure the latching bar. 23 14. Bolt the door latch brackets to the top and bottom between the two doors. 15. Install the right-hand doors. Fig 16 - Door Latch Bracket 16. Stick a length of foam tape inside the door frames, on all four doors. Fig 17 - Installed Right-Hand Door 17. Work the latching bar. Make sure that it closes well, top and bottom. 24 The handle must function smoothly, and sit in it s locking bracket securely. 18. Find the integrated tower base and bottom hopper. Fig 20 - Top Latch Note: Behind the metal panel is another hole (like the top hopper), where a level sensor will be mounted. CAUTION: Heavy Lifting: Lift base using a crane or winch of sufficient load capacity. 19. Turn the base on it s side, so that the hopper pockets sit horizontal to each other, for easy access, to simplify installation. Fig 21 - Tower Base 20. 25 21. Stick two strips of foam tape in the corner, between the two spouts openings. 22. Place the spout inside the angle brackets. Fig 24 - Foam Tape 23. Work the slide into place between the hopper and the spout. Fig 25 - Place Spout Note: The gate slide should not slide loosely, but easily with some friction. 24. Tighten the spout against the foam strip and bolt into place. Fig 26 - Gate Slide Fig 27 - Spout Assembly 3-7

26 25. Repeat with the other spout and gate slide. 26. Silicone the gaps in the spout assembly, so no product can escape. Fig 28 - Hopper Spout Installed Bolt Apply silicone to both corners of each spout. CAUTION: Heavy Lifting: Lift base and upper hopper box using a crane or winch of sufficient load capacity. Fig 29 - Gaps Around Spouts 27. Return the base to its upright position. 28. Lift the upper hopper box, and place onto the base. 27 IMPORTANT: Align the tower so that the doors on the upper hopper box, sit on the side of the base where the forklift pockets run parallel. Also, the gate assemblies and sensor hole in the upper box, should be on the same side as the sensor hole on the base, which is behind the metal panel. Fig 32 - Proper Placement 29. Bolt the tower sections together. Fig 33 - Proper Placement 30. On the upper two hoppers, the gate cylinders will be installed under each gate assembly. 28 This is the cylinder installed on the gate. The air hoses will be installed on site. 31. On the bottom hopper, the gate cylinders will be installed along the bin, on both sides. The scale load cells will be hung in three places, to bear the weight of the middle hopper: On one side, it will hang from the middle support bracket. 30 34. The scale load cell junction box and other electronics will be attached to the metal plate on the base of the tower. 35. Once the Scale Tower is on site. 31 Section 4: OPERATION Operating Safety Read and understand the Operator s Manual, and all safety decals, before using. Place all controls in neutral. Stop all engines associated with the tower. Remove ignition key and wait for all moving parts to stop before servicing, adjusting, or repairing or unplugging. Clear the area of bystanders, especially children, before starting. Be familiar with machine hazard area. If anyone enters hazard areas, shut down machine immediately. Clear the area before restarting. Keep hands, feet, hair and clothing away from all moving and/or rotating parts. Stay away from overhead obstructions and power lines during operation. Electrocution can occur without direct contact. Do not operate machine when any guards are removed. Keep working area clean and free of debris to prevent slipping or tripping. Establish a lock-out, tag-out policy for the work site. Be sure all personnel are trained in and follow all procedures. Lock-out tag-out all power sources before servicing the unit or working around loading/unloading equipment. The Convey-All Mini Scale Tower is designed to weigh incoming grain, pulse crops, or granular material, then unload it into a truck or transportable container. It has a wide range of possible applications. It is the responsibility of the owner or operator to read this manual and to train all other operators before they start working with the unit. Follow all safety instructions exactly. Safety is everyone s business. By following recommended procedures, a safe working environment is provided for the operator, bystanders and the area around the work site. Untrained operators are not qualified to operate the machine. The design and configuration of this mini tower includes safety decals and equipment. Hazard controls and accident prevention are dependent upon the personnel operating and maintaining it. Their awareness, concern, prudence and proper training are crucial. Many features incorporated into this machine are the result of suggestions made by customers like you. Read this manual carefully to learn how to operate the machine safely and how to set it to provide maximum efficiency. By following the operating instructions in conjunction with a good maintenance program, your tower will provide many years of trouble free service. 4-1

32 4.1 TOWER COMPONENTS The Convey-All Mini Scale Tower is a continuous flow seed transfer system. It is ideal for seed treating lines. The unit is computer controlled. The unit consists of a receiving hopper at the top. The middle hopper is hung by rods containing scale load cells. The bottom hopper receives the weighed material, ready for unloading. a. 33 4.2 MACHINE BREAK-IN A special break-in procedure has been developed to insure the integrity of the machine when first starting. When using the machine for the first time, follow this procedure: Before Starting Work: Read the mini scale tower s operator manual. Review and follow pre-operation procedures before starting machine. After 1 /2, 5 and 10 hours: Check hardware and all fasteners and. Tighten to their specified torque. Check the controls. Be sure that they all function properly. After 10 Hours: Go to the service schedule as defined in Section 5: Service and Maintenance. 4.3 PRE-OPERATION CHECKLIST Efficient and safe operation of the mini tower requires that each operator reads and understands the operating procedures. They must also be aware of the related safety precautions outlined in this section. It is important for both the personal safety and maintaining the good mechanical condition of the mini tower that the following checklist is followed. Before operating the mini tower and each time thereafter, the following areas should be checked off: Clean and service the unit as per the schedule outlined in the Section 5.2. Check that all guards are installed, secured and functioning as intended. Do not operate with missing or damaged shields. Check work site. Clean up working area to prevent slipping or tripping. Check that discharge and hopper areas are free of obstructions. Check that the gate cylinders can move without obstruction. 4-3

34 4.4 COMPONENTS AND CONTROLS Before starting to work, all operators should familiarize themselves with the location and function of the controls. Hopper Gate Cylinders: Each gate is operated by a pneumatic cylinder, which is controlled by computer. Fig 51 - Hopper Gates Access Hatches: Material can be unloaded into the tower through one of 2 access hatches. Fig 52 - Hopper Gates Load Cells: The middle hopper is suspended by cables. There is a load cell attached in the middle of each cable in three locations around the hopper. These loads cells read the weight of the hopper. Fig 53-2 Access Hatches Fig 54 - Load Cell 4-4

35 Level Sensors: The top and bottom hoppers are equipped with level sensors. Once it senses the hopper is full the feeding conveyor will shut off or the gate will open. Fig 55 - Level Sensor Tower Doors: If the tower is set up outside, doors are attached. The doors weather-proof the unit, while still giving full access to the hoppers inside. Junction Boxes: Information from the load cells and sensors, as well as directions for the gate cylinders, are routed through the junction boxes to the computer terminal. 37 4.5 TOWER OPERATION The Convey-All Mini Scale Tower is designed to handle a variety kind of seed or granular product. Inspect the unit at the start of each day to be sure it is in good mechanical condition. 1. Program the scale and gates on the tower, to function according to the needs of the job. 2. Begin unloading product into the top hopper. 3. The material will flow through the gate of the top hopper, down into the middle. Fig 60 - Unloading Product The load cells attached to the middle hopper will track the weight of the material flowing in. 4. Once the preset weight of the middle hopper has been attained: The gate in the top hopper will close, stopping the flow from it, to the middle. Product may continue to be unloaded into the top hopper. The gate in the middle hopper will open, then empty into the bottom hopper. Fig 61 - Middle Hopper When empty, the middle hopper s gate will close again. The top gate will open, to refill the middle hopper. Meanwhile, the bottom hopper will unload the product as required for the job. 5. The bottom hopper has two discharge spouts. 39 Section 5: SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE Servicing Safety Review the Operator s Manual and all safety items before working with, maintaining or operating the machine. Stop all engines/motors associated with the tower. Wait for all moving parts to stop before servicing, adjusting, repairing or unplugging. Follow good shop practices: Keep service area clean and dry. Be sure electrical outlets and tools are properly grounded. Use adequate light for the job at hand. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation. Never operate engines in a closed building. The exhaust fumes may cause asphyxiation. Clear the area of bystanders, especially children, when carrying out any maintenance and repairs or making any adjustments. Before resuming work, install and secure all guards when maintenance work is completed. Keep safety decals clean. Replace any decal that is damaged or not clearly visible. By following the operating instructions, in conjunction with a good maintenance program, your tube conveyor will provide many years of trouble free service. 5.1 SERVICING INTERVALS The periods recommended below are based on normal operating conditions. Severe or unusual conditions may require more frequent lubrication or oil changes After 10 Hours or Daily 1. Clean the level sensors in the top and bottom hoppers. Fig 64 - Level Sensor 5-1

40 2. Clean dust and debris from in and around the gate channels. Also, remove buildup or obstructions from around the pneumatic cylinder After 50 Hours or Weekly 3. 41 5.2 MAINTENANCE By following a careful service and maintenance program for your machine, you will enjoy many years of trouble-free service. Remove the screws in the muffler. Take it apart to access the copper filter inside. Replace if necessary. Fig 68 - Copper Filters 5-3

Inspect all goods received immediately upon receipt. When damaged goods are received, insist that a full description of the damage is made with the carrier against the freight bill. If this is insisted upon, full damage can be collected from the transport company. No responsibility is assumed for delay or damage to merchandise while in transit. Dealers responsibility ceases upon delivery or pickup of shipment from or to the transportation company. Anyone who will be operating and/or maintaining the mini tower must read and clearly understand ALL Safety, Operating and Maintenance information presented in this manual. Do not operate or allow anyone else to operate this equipment until such information has been reviewed. Annually review this information before the season start-up. Make these periodic reviews of SAFETY and OPERATION a standard practice for all of your equipment. We feel that an untrained operator is unqualified to operate this machine.
