HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION Main hazards: Extremely flammable. Irritating to eyes. Vapours may cause drowsiness and dizziness. Other hazards: In use, may form flammable / explosive vapour-air mixture. 4. FIRST AID MEASURES (SYMPTOMS) Skin contact: There may be mild irritation at the site of contact. Prolonged or repeated contact may cause defatting of the skin, which can lead to dermatitis. Eye contact: There may be irritation and redness. The eyes may water profusely. Ingestion: Headaches or general malaise may result. Nausea and stomach pain may occur. Inhalation: Drowsiness or mental confusion may occur. Nausea and stomach pain may occur. Exposure may cause coughing or wheezing.

Remove all contaminated clothes and footwear immediately unless stuck to skin. Eye contact: Bathe the eye with running water for 15 minutes. Consult a doctor. Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. If conscious, give half a litre of water to drink immediately. Consult a doctor. Inhalation: Remove casualty from exposure ensuring one's own safety whilst doing so. Consult a doctor. 5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES Extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide. Alcohol or polymer foam. Dry chemical powder. Use water spray to cool containers. Do not use water. Exposure hazards: Extremely flammable. Vapour may travel considerable distance to source of ignition and flash back. In combustion emits toxic fumes of carbon dioxide / carbon monoxide. In combustion emits toxic fumes of nitrogen oxides. Protection of fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes. 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Personal precautions: Eliminate all sources of ignition. Evacuate the area immediately. Mark out the contaminated area with signs and prevent access to unauthorised personnel. Environmental precautions: Do not discharge into drains or rivers.
