1 ASC Confined Space Refresher 4 Hours 12 This course refreshers information on the entry to confined spaces, for maintenance, servicing of vessels or other necessary reasons for all ASC work environments. Work in/entry to confined spaces shall conform to the ASC Standards, policies and relevant legislation including AS2865, or its authorised update or replacement. This unit requires the ability to: To have completed the full ASC Enter and work in confined spaces course Read and correctly interpret required documentation relevant to the entry Speak clearly and unambiguously in English Explain, describe and verify sometimes complex needs and issues Understand the permit requirements Writing is required to the level of completing workplace forms and producing any required reports. Numeracy is required to the level of being able to correctly differentiate between high and low pressures and temperatures, voltages or masses and interpret gas test/monitoring results This course refreshers the training requirements for employees wishing to work on an ASC site around confined spaces. The students will gain the skills and knowledge to enter confined space, for maintenance purposes, for cleaning, inspection or other reasons. The course provides students with an ASC specific version of the Enter and Work in Confined Spaces package. Specific knowledge is required to achieve the Performance Criteria of this unit; this includes knowledge of the following: Access and interpret information relevant to specific tasks (eg labels, MSDSs HAZCHEM signs) Access and apply hazard controls Identify changes to conditions which may lead to the permit being revoked before the job is completed Describe and/or explain hazards associated with tasks covered by the permit, types of tests required for the issue of work permits - the types of tests to include, atmospheric/oxygen/ breathability, flammability/explosivity, toxicity/twa, temperature, humidity Interpret and respond to gas test/monitoring results/information Identify a change in work conditions, possible new hazards and so the required hazard controls and obtain revalidation of permit Implement hazard controls Unit of Competency Certificate of Attendance will be issued to successful students on completion of course. Students learning outcomes will be assessed using practical activities designed to simulate a workplace and written or oral questions as appropriate. Classroom theory via PowerPoint presentations, including audio-visual material and practical activities that simulate a workplace.

6 Assist with Responding to Incidents 4 Hours 20 This course applies to individuals who contribute to identifying the actions and activities required for incident response appropriate to their own job role and work area as part of their WHS responsibilities. Language and Literacy requirements for the unit are: Writing is required to the level of completing written assessments. Reading is required to enable the determination of information through the student manual. This course addresses the skills and knowledge required to assist with the actions and activities performed in response to incidents. The course content covers: Legislative and workplace requirements for responding to incidents. Initial incident response procedures. Notify, report and document incidents in accordance with legislative and workplace requirements. Collect information from relevant parties involved in the incident. Assist with incident investigations. Communicate and implement recommendations resulting from incident investigations. Unit of Competency BSBWHS406 Assist with responding to incidents Students will receive a Certificate of Attendance for completing the face to face course. Upon successful completion of the post course assignment within 3 months of the course, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for BSBWHS406 Assist with responding to incidents. Training will be delivered within a public training facility utilising theory and practical activities. Delivery will include instructor led presentations / scenarios.

8 BHP Billiton - Iron Ore - Confined Space Entrant/Standby with Gas Test Atmospheres 2 Days 12 This course is appropriate for students working in confined space (enclosed or partially enclosed) for the purpose of carrying out work or inspections and also is appropriate for those performing sentry or stand-by person roles, at worksites within: Civil construction, Coal mining, Drilling, Extractive industries and Metaliferous mining. The Gas test unit of competency is designed for testing the working atmosphere to determine if it is safe for the proposed work. 10 BHP Billiton - Iron Ore - Fire Extinguisher 2 Hours 12 This course is designed for students who may be required to respond to workplace emergencies, which may include such incidents as a small fire that can be controlled using a nearby fire extinguisher. This unit covers the competency required to confine small workplace emergencies. Specific knowledge is required to achieve the Performance Criteria of this unit, this includes knowledge of the following: Actions to be followed when initial response action is not safe Appropriate initial response equipment Facilities that may be used to confine emergencies Hazards involved with initial response action Implications of the incorrect use of equipment Limitations of initial response equipment Limitations of use of emergency control equipment or facilities Methods of extinguishment Safe use of initial response equipment Situations that must not be responded to because of the risk Types of emergencies Workplace procedures Unit of Competency PUAWER008B Confine small workplace emergencies Students learning outcomes will be assessed using practical activities designed to simulate a workplace incident and written or oral questions as appropriate. 11 BHP Billiton - Iron Ore - Incident Investigation Practical 2 Hours 12 This workshop is designed for participants who are required to Investigate incidences as part of their main roll within the operational environment. Incident Investigations Theory IOINCINVOL Language and literacy requirements for this course are: Writing is required to the level of completing written assessments. Reading is required to enable the determination of information through the student manual. Participants are required to have the physical abilities to successfully complete the practical applications of the course. Participants are required to have the physical abilities to successfully complete the practical applications of the course. Fire Extinguisher training This course provides information on procedural requirements to perform Hot Work on a BHP Billiton WA Iron Ore site. This course covers topics such as: Classifications of Hot Work BHP Billiton Iron Ore Hot Work procedures and permit systems Correct implementation of a JHA Implementation of controls Emergency options for Hot Work incidents Unit of Competency Certificate of Attendance will be issued to successful students on completion of course. Assessment of this course is through written assessment and observation of students carrying out a range of practical scenarios involving the writing of JHA?s, observing permits and the implementation of controls. 15 Heights Incident First Response 2 Days 8 This course is designed for students who are required to work at heights, in particular people who may perform the role of a heights supervisor. Students must meet the following entry requirements: Hold a work at heights competency (RIIWHS204D or equivalent) and hold the Provide first aid competency (HLTAID003 or equivalent). This course addresses the skills necessary to perform a first response rescue. The course focuses on the use of pre-rigged rescue equipment in a range of different workplace scenarios. The following items are covered during the conduct of the training: PPE of the rescuer Communication The briefing Command & control Safety of the rescue team Rescue Suspension intolerance First Aid Anchors Rope Care & maintenance Rope inspection Retiring a rope Rope packaging Pre-rigged system and ladder rescue Units of Competency PUASAR022A Participate in a rescue operation PUAFIR215 Prevent injury PUAEME001B Provide emergency care Assessment of this course is through theory assessment and completion of a number of different rescue activities using pre-rigged rescue systems.

17 Introduction to Confined Space Rescue 1 Day 12 This introductory course provides guidance and outlines procedures for people who required a basic understanding and knowledge of confined space rescues as defined in AS2865. Students must hold a competency in Confined Space training and Breathing Apparatus training. Language, literacy and numeracy requirements from the unit are: Writing is required to the level of completing written assessments. Numeracy is required to enable the determination of similar activities. Participants are required to have the physicality and flexibility to enter, exit and manoeuvre within confined spaces while performing assigned tasks. This introductory course provides guidance and outlines procedures for people who required a basic understanding and knowledge of confined space rescues in the preparations, risk assessments, performing of rescues and concluding rescue operations to a basic level. The course content introduces students to procedures and processes in the preparations, risk assessments, performing rescues and concluding rescue operations to a basic level. Units of Competency PUASAR022A Participate in a rescue operation PUAFIR215 Prevent injury PUAEME001B Provide emergency care Assessment will be conducted through actual demonstration of competency and written testing of underpinning knowledge. 18 Low Voltage Rescue & Provide CPR 4 Hour 15 The training course is designed for any person whom may need to perform CPR to utilise DRSABCD during the course of their employment and all learners involved in electrical work that are required to maintain skill levels in low voltage rescue procedures as part of their duties. Unique Student Identifier (USI) - Fitness to participate This course provides participants with the confidence and competence required to perform CPR on an unconscious casualty. This training course is taught according to the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. This training course takes personnel through both the theory of why we do CPR and many practical exercises that emphasise the 'how' we perform CPR. Low Voltage Rescue teaches participants on how to rescue a person using low voltage equipment using a Low Voltage Rescue Kit. Specific skills are required to achieve the performance criteria in this course these are as follows: Assess the incident scene Conduct D-R-S-A-B-C-D Cardio pulmonary resuscitation techniques Roll patient into recovery position Handover to Medical personnel Manage a choking patient Assess a low voltage rescue incident Operate a low voltage rescue kit Understand electrical dangers and PPE Units of Competency UETTDRRF06B Perform rescue from a live LV panel HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation Assessment is conducted by oral / written theory questions and practical activities using a range of scenarios. Delivery of training is done face to face and may be done on a customer?s site or in a Fire & Safety Australia training centre.

20 Melbourne Water Confined Space Entry 2 Days 12 This course is designed for Melbourne Water personnel and contractors whom are required to work in or on Melbourne Water confined space assets. Work in / entry to confined spaces shall conform to relevant legislation and AS2865 (or its authorised update or replacement) and to relevant Melbourne Water policies and permitting system requirements. MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit. This unit requires the ability to: Read and correctly interpret required documentation relevant to the entry Speak clearly and unambiguously in English Explain, describe and verify sometimes complex needs and issues Understand the permit requirements Writing is required to the level of completing workplace forms and producing any required reports Numeracy is required to the level of being able to correctly differentiate between high and low pressures and temperatures, voltages or masses and interpret gas test/monitoring results This competency applies to persons who are required to enter confined space, for maintenance purposes, for cleaning, inspection or other reasons. It is required by all persons who are required to enter a confined space, as defined by the standard AS2865 requires reassessment 'at appropriate intervals'. The industry regards reassessment on a two to three year cycle as good practice. This unit includes: Preparing to enter the confined space Checking the preparations against the permit conditions Entering the confined space Specific knowledge is required to achieve the Performance Criteria of this unit, this includes knowledge of the following: Access and interpret information relevant to specific tasks (eg labels, MSDSs hazchem signs) Access and apply hazard controls Identify changes to conditions which may lead to the permit being revoked before the job is completed Describe and/or explain hazards associated with tasks covered by the permit, types of tests required for the issue of work permits - the types of tests to include, atmospheric/oxygen/ breathability, flammability/explosivity, toxicity/twa, temperature, humidity Interpret and respond to gas test/monitoring results/information. Identify a change in work conditions, possible new hazards and so the required hazard controls and obtain re validation of permit Implement hazard controls Apply CPR techniques as per current Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. Interpret and comply with Melbourne Water policies and permitting systems
