We are excited to teach the latest skiing techniques, and we hope you will be excited to attend. With new equipment technology and new teaching techniques, it has never been easier to learn to ski. Perfect North is about 1 ½ hours southeast of Indianapolis just off interstate 74. Please sign up and pay by December 29. Group rates for 15 or more people will get rental and lift ticket - $45.00 ; lift ticket only -$ Instruction will begin at 10:00 am. 3 The Prez Speaks - by Joan Naffziger We are headed in to ski season and I can t wait. We had a good turn out at Rathskellar for our As a solo family law practitioner, I handle child custody and support modifications, divorces, paternity issues, guardianships, name changes, emancipations, and a host of other family law-related issues. My rates are reasonable and I communicate promptly. October meeting. Trips are nearly full which is very encouraging. Given the economic and travel challenges we deal with Jean Ballinger has done an excellent job of planning trips this year and working very closely with our tour operators to get good pricing and service. This is a club that is run by members just like Jean, you and me. Without the efforts of Jean and others as officers and committee chairs there could be no Indianapolis Ski Club. As I mentioned in an earlier note, many people responded on the picnic survey that they were interested in additional activities but only a few said they would help planning. So how do we make any of this happen? We d like people to step up and offer to help, however, my experience has been that people don t do that. Fortunately when asked for help on something specific they are usually willing. You know the old saying Many hands make light work. Well come this spring we will be looking for many sets of hands. We are hosting the OVSC summit in June. I have offered to chair the committee, Paul Wood our President elect has taken on the task of finding a venue and Dick Surber, our OVSC rep offered to coordinate the vendors. We ve hosted before and we can do it again. We are going to need some more help and we plan to make it fun light work! Just ask the folks who helped at Penrod -Mel Crichton, Jennifer Rhamy, Jim & Vicki Robinson, Jeanie Kincaid, Susan Neves, Patrick Swickheimer, Tiffany Oliver, Dana & Lisa (Superfly) Sindelar, Sue McNiel, Dick Surber, Paul Wood and John Oberlies. They volunteered and they had fun! So while you are out there hitting the slopes this winter, think about what makes those great trips possible, members just like you, who said they would help out. Think about volunteering to help or say yes when asked. Don t forget the Holiday party at the Rathskellar Thursday Dec 2 nd. Watch the website and look for an electronic Boomer with more information.
