3 Art LAGUNA BEACH ARTS & CULTURE Laguna Beach is the pristine beauty that she is because the locals really care. An art colony from its roots, we have a number of committees that not only look after Laguna s natural loveliness, but help create and place art in public places, from lamppost banner originals by local artists to towering edifices and street corner art everywhere you look. LAGUNA BEACH ART GALLERIES With more than 100 art galleries and artist studios, you ll come to understand why Laguna Beach refers to itself as an art colony. Laguna Beach makes it easy to take home a part of the city s distinct style with local art you won t find anywhere else. FIRST THURSDAYS ART WALK The art season in Laguna Beach flourishes year round with First Thursdays Art Walk. This educational monthly art event, held on the first Thursday of every month from 6 9pm, celebrates the diverse cultural art scene of Laguna Beach and is free to the public. First Thursdays Art Walk is funded by the entire Laguna Beach art community, lodging establishments, and the City of Laguna Beach. Indoor Activities LAGUNA PLAYHOUSE Celebrating 90 years of community theater in Laguna Beach, The Laguna Playhouse provides an enriching cultural experience to residents and visitors alike. Award-winning and unique shows play year-round. Midsized regional theater stages big-name plays & musicals, comedy shows, kids productions & more. LAGUNA CANYON WINERY Since 2003, Laguna Canyon Winery has produced a spectrum of terrific wines for every palate. Their wines received awards from Orange County Fairs to the largest California wine competitions. Currently, the Laguna Canyon Winery features three brands available in their main winery tasting room: Laguna Canyon, Purple Paws and Wyland Cellars. A portion of all Purple Paws wine sales go for the care of homeless pets. 4 Outdoor Activities BEACHES Laguna Beach is globally renowned for pristine, picturesque beaches that ramble nearly eight miles within city limits. We re also recognized for unique coves that tuck themselves beneath hillsides and cliffs. It s not uncommon to trot down the public access stairs to one of these secluded coves to find that you re just one of the few who have made the discovery. No matter what your mood, Laguna Beach has a beach that perfectly suits you. If it s people watching and easy access to restrooms and restaurants, volleyball, or pickup basketball you seek, try Main Beach; if you re looking to have a bonfire head over to our Aliso Beach Park (the county beach). And, don t forget to check out the tide pools! BIKE RENTALS FROM LAGUNA BEACH CYCLERY As a guest at The Ranch at Laguna Beach, you can rent mountain, road, kids, hybrid, or cyclocross bikes for an exclusive discounted rate at Laguna Beach Cyclery! Details will be available at check-in. The team at Laguna Beach Cyclery will adjust the rental bike to your liking and give you guidance on the trails to ride. Standard rentals come with a helmet, bike lock, and pedals to accommodate the guest s liking. 01

HIKING, MOUNTAIN BIKING, AND RUNNING TRAILS While most people think about the beach offerings in town, according to OC Parks, Laguna Beach has almost 15,000 acres of trails between Aliso & Wood Canyons Park, Crystal Cove State Park, and Laguna Wilderness Park to hike and mountain bike! KAYAK AND JET SKI RENTALS Kayak and Jet Ski rentals are available through the Dana Point Jet Ski and Kayak Center in Dana Point Harbor. The rental fleet, which consists of Hobie Kayaks and Kawasaki 1500cc, 4-stroke, three passenger Jet Skis, allows you to explore the beautiful Dana Point Harbor or the surrounding coastline. PACIFIC MARINE MAMMAL CENTER This non-profit organization is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of marine mammals stranded along the Orange County coastline. 6 STAND UP PADDLEBOARD/SURFBOARD RENTALS Stand Up Paddleboard and Surfboard rentals are available through DPYC Paddle Center at the Dana Point Yacht Club in Dana Point Harbor. Rental boards are fitted to each customer, so you can be assured to have the right equipment and enjoy your time on the water. DPYC Paddle Center has a great selection of Hobie Stand Up paddleboards including stable beginner boards to experienced touring and race boards. They offer a safe flatwater launch and parking on the property. Stand Up Paddleboard rental includes: Board, paddle, PFD, leash and a 15 minute lesson on proper paddling technique and water safety. WALKING TOURS AT LAGUNA BEACH WALKS Laguna Beach Walks offers fun and engaging walking tours showcasing the history and beauty of Laguna Beach. These free self-guided walking tours are perfect for those wanting to get an in depth perspective of this coastal artist colony. HEISLER PARK/DOWNTOWN TOUR: Enjoy picturesque ocean views while strolling through perfectly landscaped paths in Heisler Park. Public art pieces and local landmarks are highlights of this tour along with unique architecture and history of our special downtown. Shopping LAGUNA BEACH Laguna Beach is a quaint, walkable village located in the heart of southern California and makes shopping in this fun and funky town an experience that s like no other.
