January 2016 Kicking Award High Performance Colin McCann Stephens Favorite Stroke Butterfly Favorite Event 200 IM Colin has done a great job this month of stepping up his game in kick sets. Most notably when we do fastest interval possible sets he has stepped up to put in performances that are head and shoulders above his previous results, even doing 4x50 on a 40 second pace! Congrats Colin and keep up the great work! Favorite activity outside of swimming - Playing League of Legends and Running in the 90 s Performance John Churcher Favorite Stroke Freestyle Favorite Event 100 and 200 Freestyle Swimmer of the month in the Performance group is John Churcher. This month we were looking for someone who improved in all their kicking skills. John has worked very hard at improving his kick speed and technique in all four strokes. I am very happy to give this award to John, he always has a positive outlook which is why he is improving so much this year. Favorite activity outside of swimming - Gaming very seriously
Age Group Performance- Jing Jing Wu Favorite Stroke - Butterfly Favorite Event 200 Butterfly Jing Jing has put in a great deal of effort into her kicking in January. Although she may not be the fastest or best kicker, she was consistent and selfmotivated to perform well in kick sets. She kicks with purpose underwater as well as works to improve her kicking while swimming strokes. Favorite activity outside of swimming -Taking Selfies with friend at swim meets, doing homework and playing basket ball and badminton Youth Development- Logan Evancusky Favorite Stroke - Freestyle Favorite Event 50 Butterfly Logan has always worked very hard on kick sets. He is the best kicker in YD and has been kicking hard to keep that title. He is always looking to improve his kicking skills not only during a kick set but also during swimming sets. Logan continually chooses to practice all four strokes of kick during practice, even if they aren t his favorite kick strokes. Congratulations Logan. Favorite activity outside of swimming - Cooking
Fountain Park JAG-Olivia Cadence Favorite Stroke - Breaststroke Favorite Event 200 IM The swimmer of the month is for January in JAG is Olivia Cadence. Olivia has been working really hard at kicking by leading her lane and even moving up pace times for most kicking sets. She was one of the top kickers in 400 Kick for time in JAG. Keep up the awesome kicking! Favorite activity outside of swimming Watching Netflix Scona JAG- Jack MacArthur Favorite Stroke - Breaststroke Favorite Event 100 IM Congratulations to Jack MacArthur for receiving Swimmer of the Month for January! The Kicking Award is given to Jack because he has been working hard on improving his kicking in both freestyle and butterfly for the last month. His attitude has become increasingly more positive this season and he has demonstrated better listening skills in the last month. Great job Jack, and keep up the great work! Favorite activity outside of swimming Volleyball
Fountain Park OW- Stephanie Poier Favorite Stroke - Butterfly Favorite Event 50 Butterfly This month s swimmer of the month goes to... Stephanie Poier! This month s award is for kicking. Recently Steph has been working on improving her dolphin kick to further benefit her in all her races. Even with a small back injury she still is improving dramatically. Awesome job Steph! Favorite activity outside of swimming - volleyball and good grades Scona OW- Bill Lu Favorite Stroke - Backstroke Favorite Event 100IM January's swimmer of the month goes to Bill Lu. Bill has demonstrated excellent kicking skills in all four of the strokes. His body position kicking skills, along with his streamline kicking skills, have progressed immensely. He strives to make faster pace times every time we do a kick set. Keep up the great work, Bill! Favorite activity outside of swimming - Reading
Terwillegar OW Brian Liu Favorite Stroke - Favorite Event - The Swimmer of the Month at Terwillegar is Brian Liu. In the month of January Brian has consistently remained a top performer in kick sets. While Brian continues to exceed all expectations with his freestyle kick, it is his breaststroke kick that has shown tremendous improvement. He has been working hard to keep his knees narrow in order to produce a strong breaststroke kick. As a result of his hard work, his breaststroke is becoming more efficient. Congratulations and keep up the good work, Brian! Favorite activity outside of swimming - Fountian Park JOW Gillian Archer Favorite Stroke - Freestyle Favorite Event - This month's Swimmer of the Month Award goes to Gillian Archer. Congratulations to Gillian on winning the award for kick! Congratulations again Gillian on winning the award for this month and keep up the great swimming! Favorite activity outside of swimming Playing with her friends

Jonelle has improved immensely in kicking so far in this season and I know she will keep improving. Congrats to Jonelle and keep up the fast kicking! Favorite activity outside of swimming - Dancing
