1 Proudly presents the The Lack Group Southport Olympic Twilight Carnival LONG COURSE OPEN QUALIFYING MEET Friday 31 st October & Saturday 1 st November, 2014 Brand New Facility, Electronic Timing & Scoreboard, Grandstand Seating and plenty of space = fast swimming!!! This meet is a recognised A Grade qualifying meet and is sanctioned by Swimming Queensland. This OPEN style meet facilitates better racing as swimmers are seeded according to their entry times and not separated by age groups. DATE: Session 1 Friday 31 st October Session 2 - Saturday 1 st November TIME: Session 1 - Warm-up 5.30 pm / Start 6.30 pm Session 2 Warm up 3.00 pm / Start 4.00 pm VENUE: Gold Coast Aquatic Centre - Australia s newest International facility and venue for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. POOL ENTRY FEE: Adults $5.40 / Children non swimmers (15 & Under) $4.00 Swimmers & Coaches

NOMINATIONS CLOSE: Friday 24 th October p.m. AGE: ELIGIBILITY: ENTRIES: EVENTS: 50m EVENTS: SKINSS PRIZES As at Friday 31 st October, 2014 Entry is openn to any SQ competitive registered swimmer. Entries from other states or international swimmers will be accepted with clearance from their state or country s swimming body. All entries must be submitted through thee swimmer s Club Race Secretary, either through Meet or Teamm Manager. As per attached Program of Events. Timed Finals only will be swum in eachh event from too 1500m. All 50m events will be run as a normal event. Thesee heats will be run slowest to fastest. The fastest 6 swimmers will progress to round 1 of the Skins event. From there, the fastest 4 will progress to round 2. 2 From there the fastest 2 swimmers will progress to the Skins Final. Each round will be swum on a 3 minute cycle. Both male and female races will be run within each 3 minute cycle (1:30 apart). First Place $100 cash, Second Place $50 swimwear voucher Bonus Win Two Skins events receive additional $100. MEDAL AWARDS: 1 st, 2 nd andd 3 rd medals forr individual age groups (10,11,12,13, 14,15,16,17&over) will w be determined from the OFFICIAL times swum in the event. e No medals for 50m Events as these are SKINS events. This is a No Rule Tolerance meet. RULES: SQ rules will apply. One start rule will applies. Feet first entry must be usedd for backstroke entry. Swim suits must comply with the current FINA regulations. Officials have the right to refuse a competitor to swim if their suit doess not comply.

6 Seating for the Meet Clubs can erect shade tents after midday during the day on Friday. These can go upstairs on either side of the new competition pool. The centre can supply containers that can be filled with water to anchor the tents. There are three rows of permanent seats upstairs (approx. 600). There is bleacher style seating that will be on pool deck for swimmers and coaches ONLY. Clubs are encouraged to have their swimmers sit on pool deck as a team and cheer for their teammates. Parking Parents and swimmers can outside the pool and in Broadwater Parklands. Please observe parking regulations and signs wherever you do park. SOSC are not responsible for any fines incurred. Timekeeping The GCAC has electronic timing with large scoreboard. We will require 2 timekeepers per lane. A roster will be sent out to clubs prior to the meet. Please note The venue will be hosting the Pan Pacs Masters swimming/diving/water polo commencing on the Friday. This will have no impact on the Friday night. On the Saturday the diving will finish at 5.00pm (diving pool) and water polo will finish at 4.00pm (old 50m pool). The masters swimming event does not commence till the next week. Payments Clubs must ensure entry fees are received by Southport Olympic Swimming Club and cleared by Thursday 30 th October. Clubs failing to do so, will be notified that they have been omitted from the meet.
