We hope you get the opportunity to meet new friends and become re-acquainted with old ones. If you are visiting our beautiful city, we hope you have some time to explore what Vancouver has to offer! We wish you an enjoyable and successful tournament. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS ALL PLAYERS: IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ THIS CHANGE FOR 2017 All players who have lost a singles match in the Main Draw MUST INDICATE TO THE TOURNAMENT DESK THAT THEY WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONSOLATION SINGLES DRAW for that event. If you do not communicate to the tournament desk that you want to play, you will NOT be included in the consolation draw. If you decide to not participate, please communicate this as well with a reason for your decision. All matches up to and including the semi-finals will provide an opportunity for the losers of those matches to continue on and play at least one more match. Each article of usable visible clothing (incl. warm ups & accessories, like hats, head & wrist bands) must be predominantly white with no more than 10% colour. This rule applies while on courts warming up, playing & cleaning the courts. Coloured shoes are Permitted. 2 hard courts and 2 clay courts between 12-4pm on Sat. Aug. 19; 2 hard courts and 2 clay courts between 7-8am Monday to Saturday. 30-minute court time booked with Front Desk Reception staff. No courts available outside tournament play and practice times. Water fountains available. Bottled water for sale, only closed containers on the courts. Food available from 7 am daily. Pub open each day from noon. Registered Massage Therapy available. Book with the Front Desk staff. Stringing available - overnight turnaround, pay in advance. Club merchandise and athletic apparel sold. No access. No access. No cell phone usage in the Club, texting permitted. Two lots on Fir street, one lot on 16th Ave and street parking with restrictions. Clay court shoes may only be worn on the Clay courts and are not permitted anywhere else in the Club.

5 VLTBC - SOCIAL CALENDAR SPECIAL EVENTS Thursday, August 24 TH, 6:30pm Steve Stevens Sr. National Championships Banquet This year we offer an upscale West Coast-themed buffet dinner, featuring the best that BC has to offer. All participants and ticket holders will dine together in our club s badminton hall, the oldest of its kind in North America. Live entertainment will be featured in the pub after the banquet! Enjoy relaxed dining for breakfast and lunch in the Players Lounge. For casual and fast food service, pre-packaged meals to go, or sit down service, we invite you to visit the Players Bistro. The Pub offers fresh casual fare, and the inviting Pub deck overlooks the pool and tennis courts, offering some of the best views! Conventional tennis attire (colours allowed). Available Saturday, Aug. 19 noon-6pm and Sunday Aug. 20 7am-8am. You can book through the Pro Shoppe one day in advance for 1/2 hour practice courts. No courts are available outside tournament hours and practice times. Fountains available in viewing area in front of Courts 5, 6, 11, and 12. Bottled water available at the Pro Shoppe. Closed containers on court. Bistro: Cash or debit. No AMEX. The Lounge will be open Monday to Friday 5pm-11pm. Physio, massage, and spa services available. Call or visit the Pro Shoppe and book an appointment. Stringing is available 7am-9pm. The Shoppe also sells clothing, racquets, gifts, and food and beverages, including alcohol. No access, but spinning bikes will be available for warm up in the viewing area by Courts 9, 10, 11, and 12. No access. Hallways for all calls, texting allowed in all areas. Free parking available in the Parkade in stalls that are not marked Members Only. Play Control and Hospitality Desks are in the Billy Mitchell Room located near the Pro Shoppe on the second level.

7 THE ARBUTUS CLUB - SOCIAL CALENDAR SPECIAL EVENTS MONDAY, AUGUST 21 ST WELCOME BBQ 6:30-9:30 PM Join us for our Down South Barbecue. Grilled BC Salmon, Beef Brisket, Baby Back Ribs and more (with vegetarian options) served with southern sides that will stick to your ribs. Don t miss this one as it will be one of the highlights of the tournament. This function is for all players and ticket holders. WEDNESDAY AUGUST 23 RD MARGARITAVILLE 5:00-8:00 PM Join us for our Roof Top Happy Hour. $4.00 beer and coolers plus our fantastic Rooftop menu is also available FOOD & BEVERAGE VENUES During the tournament: BISTRO DAILY 6:30 AM - 9:00 PM Offering a comprehensive menu, including many healthy options, salad bar, and a beautiful outdoor patio. THE LOUNGE/SPORTS BAR NIGHTLY 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM Casual menu featuring dinner specials every evening. OTHER Food and beverage payment method is cash and/or credit card (no surcharge) for non-members. These courts can be booked one day in advance, for ½ hour through JTC Reception commencing on Friday, Aug Water fountains available. No Sport Shop currently however, tennis balls, grips, etc. are available for purchase at Reception Desk. No access. No access. No cell phone usage anywhere in the club. In locker rooms and by the courts. Proper tennis attire is mandatory and must be worn by all guests while using the tennis courts. Leggings and tights must be accompanied with a skirt or shorts. Light and smooth soled, non-marking tennis shoes are the only shoes allowed on court. Guests who do not have the proper dress code will not be allowed to play. One court on Friday Aug. 18th: 4pm-10pm; two courts on Saturday Aug. 19th: 3pm-10pm. Contact the Racquet Office to book a ½ hour time: Water coolers located by the courts. Bottled water for purchase at the Racquets Office and the Cabana. Food and beverages are available in the Snack Shop and at the Cabana (e.g. Sandwiches, salads, snacks and Hot Food). Tennis accessories (grips, socks, armbands, dampeners, etc.) available for purchase in the Racquet Office. Available-turnaround time is 1 hour -24 hours, depending on the availability of the Stringer. No access. No access. Cell phones must be turned off or on Silent Mode while on club property. Cell phones may be used for silent, two-way communication by text. Voice calls may be made or taken in designated areas only. These are confined to the Club parking lot, the indoor tennis breeze-way and the telephone alcove in the upper hallway. Parking is available for all guests.

Each article of visible clothing (incl. accessories such as hats, head & wrist bands) must be predominantly white in colour with no more than 10% colour trim. Coloured warm ups must be removed within 20 min. Coloured tennis shoes are allowed. PRACTICE COURTS Practice courts will be available on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 2:30-7:30pm. Courts can be booked for ½ hour by calling the Tennis Centre at on Aug. 19 as of 9am. WATER FOOD SPORT SHOP FITNESS CENTRE CELL PHONE USE PARKING OTHER Water is available in the Tennis Centre and near the courts. Bottled water is available for purchase. Closed containers must be used on the courts. Sandwiches, Power Bars, Salads and Fruit available in the Tennis Centre and at the Outdoor Tennis Courts. The tennis Pro Shop is owned and operated by Rackets and Runners, located at 3880 Oak Street. Tel: The store will be open for stringing services with a 24 hour turnaround. There will be no on-site racquet stringing. No access. No Voice Cell Phone use is permitted on club premises. There will be an area reserved by the outdoor tennis courts for parking for all players and guests. Non-members do not have access to the SGCC clubhouse.

13 SHAUGHNESSY GOLF COUNTRY CLUB - SOCIAL CALENDAR SPECIAL EVENTS SUNDAY, AUGUST 20 TH 6pm-8:30pm Gala event hosted by the Shaughnessy Golf Country Club An exquisite evening taking place inside the clubhouse and outdoors on the lawn, with complimentary appetizers and paired-beverages. An opportunity to enjoy the wonderful setting, while connecting with old friends, on the first day of the tournament. This function is for players only. Dress attire at this function is Smart Casual. No denim (jeans) or tank tops. If you d like to attend and didn t reply when you entered the tournament, please contact Suzanne Brenton: brentons@shaw.ca. The deadline is August 10.
