2 ATPCA - Coach Membership page 2 Welcome ATPCA is a community of Australian tennis coaches and business owners; like-minded, active individuals that possess a passion for tennis and in particular a love of coaching. We exist, as an independent non-profit public company, to provide the industry with economical and quality assured tennis coach training and membership services to tennis coaches in Australia and around the world. Our training philosophy is founded in practical based training, with the majority of our Qualification courses held on-court, ensuring all of our course graduates are industry ready meaning they can readily & confidently demonstrate the modern coaching techniques and skills required of a successful industry coach. ATPCA was established in Sydney in 1967, and since then we have professionally trained and accredited over 5,000 tennis coaches world-wide. Our commission is to serve & support the independent tennis community that we represent. ATPCA acts to advocate the advancement of tennis coaching, providing an on-going source of support and training for coaching professionals. ATPCA Membership is provided on year round basis (no official starting date) meaning there is no better time to join than today. These members hold as a minimum, the ATPCA Graduate Pro Level 1 Qualification. All Qualified members of ATPCA are trained in First Aid practices and are required to obtain a working with children check within the first 3 months of completing a course. Qualification Cert. & Coach ID Coaching Resources (Manual, Study Guide etc.) Business support & marketing resources Trainee Membership Trainee membership is available to unqualified assistant or trainee tennis coaches, for a maximum term of 24 months. This ensures trainees are individually covered with their own insurance policy, and do not require direct supervision when coaching. Trainees are then required to obtain ATPCA official qualification within 24 months of joining. This membership represents adherence to ATPCA National Coaching Standards, ensuring the integrity of the industry is upheld with professional conduct and coaching skill. Business Resources & Marketing All members have the facility to create a coach profile page to market themselves, and have access to a range of promotional resources designed to assist and support their coaching enterprise and advertising efforts. 4 ATPCA - Coach Membership page 4 ACCREDITATION COURSES & NATIONAL PROGRAMS The ATPCA Hot Hits program is a coaching tool (under ITF guidelines) that provides the platform for ATPCA coaches to technically develop young children at an earlier stage by providing a structured, play the game, fun environment. The Hot Hits program uses a system of modified courts, nets, racquets and balls enabling a progressive pathway of junior coaching from 4 years of age onwards. Hot Hits scales the game down with reduced court sizes and set scoring so as to enhance the learning process and makes the game more fun for kids. Graduate Pro Level 1 - Accreditation On-court course cost // $990 Adults or $750 U/21 For the trainee/development coach (entry level accreditation) No prior coaching experience required Held over 1 weekend, 90% on-court Focus on Games, drills & error detection & stroke production Coach beginner to intermediate standard students Advanced Pro Level 2 - Accreditation On-court course cost // $1450 Adults $1250 U/21 For the experienced / professional coach Held over 3 consecutive days mostly on-court Focus on Adv.
