1 PE News Terms 1&2 Lee Valley Cross Country Championships For our first competition of the year some of our long distance runners represented our school at this year s Lee Valley X-Country Championships. This involved running 3000m (Year 10) and 1700m (Years 7, 8 & 9). Top performers: Our Year 9 boys team was the top performing team for AJK on the day, finishing 9 th place as a team out of over 30 schools. Out of the Year 10 s, James was our first athlete to cross the finish line. Honouring the sporting legend that is Sir Mo Farah with the MO-BOT. Do you know what distances Mo Farah competes in?
2 Girls Football 9-a-side League The girls have had a great start to the season with a 4-1 win against Chace! Top Scorers Wendy (2 goals), Lilith (1 goal), Kiera (1 goal) Shout Outs For Emmanuella and Chloe for showing great courage by stepping up to play out of position as goal keeper. Girls Football 7 a- side League The girls are only currently undefeated in the 7-a-side league, as they secured their first win again Chace with a final score of 6 5. Their second win against Enfield County ended with a final score of 3 1. Top Scorers Versus Chace = Wendy (5 goals) Emmanuella (1 goal) Versus Enfield County = Lilith (2 goals) Wendy (1 goal) Shout Outs For our Captain Lilith for great organisation and encouragement of her team mates. 3 PE News Term 1 Year 9 Netball Our Year 9 girls performed very well in the their first match this season with a 7 7 draw versus Winchmore. Player of the Match: Glory Top Scorers : Tiffany & Toni-Ann Defensive Player: Davina Year 10 Netball Our Year 10 girls lost their first match of the season in what was a very challenging match against Palmers Green. 4 Boys Football Year 7 League Results: The Year 7 boys team have started the season with 2 losses against Enfield Grammar School and Aylward, however with each performance the team are beginning to work more cohesively and are improving with each game! Man of the Match: Versus Enfield Grammar = Tyler Versus Aylward = Hamza PE News Term 1 Boys Football Year 8 League Results: 4 4 draw versus Enfield Grammar Cup Result: 4 5 loss (after extra-time) versus Enfield Grammar Man of the match: Daniel

6 Year 7 Trials Netball Well done to all the Year 7s who came to trials for netball this half term. Thank you to all the Year 10 pupils who helped to run this event. Below are some photos from the trials.
7 Basketball Morning Club Well done to the 46 pupils who have been waking up early to attend basketball club before school to prepare for upcoming basketball matches.
8 PE News Term 2 Lee Valley Athletics Cup Competition Pupils from Y8&9 recently represented AJK in this elite athletics event, competing against schools from all across London and Essex. The girls team finished 6 th out of 12 schools and qualified for the semi-finals. The boys team finished 9 th out of 18 schools. School athletics records beaten on this day included: Year 9 Records: 60m Hurdles Cory 11.08s 60m Amari 8.35s 200m Delainie 26.72s 300m Rayhan 46.86s 800m Travis s High Jump Kamali 1.35m Shot Put Rayhan 8.83m 200m Glory 31.2s 800m Amoor s High Jump Glory 1.25m Year 8 Records: 60m Mariam 11.77s Hurdles 300m Wendy 54.11s Long Jump Emmanuella 4.21m Shot Put Emma 7.56m
9 Term 2 Enfield Cross Country Competition KS3 Enfield Cross Country Our cross country runners represented AJK at the recent Enfield Cross Country Competition at Trent Park. Year 7s ran a total distance of 3000m and the Year 8&9s ran 3500m. Each race had approximately 100 runners. Our stand out results of the day were as follows: Kristupas was the first Year 7 from AJK to finish the race and he came 22 nd. Wendy finished in 14 th place, which was our highest placing of the day, and her sister was close behind her in 21 st place. Amoor then finished in 29 th place overall.
10 Term 2 Year 10 Boys Basketball Our Year 10 boys have entered the Enfield basketball leagues for the first time this season. Despite only playing the game for a short period of time the team put in a good performance in their first match, despite losing against Enfield Grammar School. Throughout the game their play improved immensely as the game progressed and the other team complimented the boys on their exemplary sportsmanship and fair play throughout the game. SHOUT OUTS: Top Scorer: Ayhan (7 points) Defensive players of the match: Tyrell and Kevin Best rebounder: Glen Best sportsmanship: David
11 Term 2 Year 8 Boys Basketball The Year 8 boys began their season with a game against Edmonton. This was a very close game throughout, and resulted in a loss. The team worked well together as a unit defensively and now need to develop their fast break skills ready for the next match. SHOUT OUTS: Player of the match: Ahmet for working hard defensively and rebounding well Top scorer: Mekhi (6 points) Best sportsmanship: Emre for being positive during the game and encouraging his team mates
