5 MLS FAN CODE OF CONDUCT AND PROHIBITED ITEMS Major League Soccer is committed to creating a safe, comfortable and enjoyable soccer experience for all guests in and around our stadiums. MLS encourages fans and supporters to not bring bags to the stadium. If a patron chooses to bring a bag to the venue, they will be subject to a search. For bags to enter the venue, they must be no larger than 14 x 14 x 6. This allows for small purses and bags to be brought into the facility. Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to: Large purses, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, luggage of any kind, computer bags, camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size. This policy is not intended to interfere with guests attending with specific medical needs, or guests caring for young children (nursing mothers with children under 2). MLS FANS HAVE A RIGHT TO EXPECT AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE: -Fans are encouraged to cheer, sing, and otherwise support their team while remaining respectful and courteous to their fellow patrons, referees, opposing team fans and players. -Fans enjoy the soccer experience free from fighting, *thrown objects, attempts to enter the playing field, political or inciting messages, and disorderly behavior, including foul, sexist, racial, obscene or abusive language or gestures. -Fans comply with requests from stadium staff regarding stadium policies and emergency response procedures. -Fans promptly and carefully return the ball to a stadium staff member or the ball kid on the sidelines in the event that a soccer ball enters the stands. -Alcoholic beverages are consumed in a responsible manner and only by those of legal age. -Fans conduct themselves in a lawful manner to avoid incidents in the stadium and in the parking lots. *NOTE: The use of streamers as an expression of fan enthusiasm is not prohibited, but will be kept under review. How do I make the pre-game dinner reservations in the America First Credit Union Pavilion? If you are looking to dine with us before the big game, please contact your Fan Relations Coordinator (see above) or call the Fan Relations Hotline at Reservations will be fulfilled based on availability. 21 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How can I purchase additional tickets to a single game at my STM Royalty Discounted Rate? Please contact your Fan Relations Representative (see page 18) with the most amount of time possible for the best seat availability to order your tickets. Day of game requests may not always be met. Seat availability around or near your seats is not guaranteed. Your season seat cannot be moved from game to game when additional seats are purchased. You can receive your STM Royalty Rate by calling into your Fan Relations Coordinator, the Season Ticket Holder Hotline or at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office. How do I receive any additional tickets I purchase? Our methods of delivery are always Will Call, and Flash Seats. As season ticket holders, these options are free for our Season Ticket Members. For further information and details on Flash Seats, please refer to page 9. Where is Will Call? Will-Call is located at the WEST SIDE BOX OFFICE. Will-Call is open on game days beginning at 10 AM and will close at HALFTIME. Will-Call is also open during the week in the East Box Office Monday-Friday 10 AM- 6PM. We will need the first and last name of the person picking up the Will Call Tickets along with photo ID. PG. 19

22 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I access My RSL Account? And is it different from my Flash Seat Account? Please refer to pages 10, 11 & 12 for further details on your RSL Account and your Flash Seats Account. The login for both is the address that is associated with your season ticket account. However, they are two different sites. When will Meet the Team be? Meet the Team has typically been in the late summer months of August or September. Once a date is determined, you will receive an notification via The Standard. What is the Season Ticket Member Discount at the Team Store? You will receive a Royalty Member Rewards card. This card is good for 15 percent off at the team store. Where can I park? Please see the parking map on page 17. West, South and North Parking lots are Permit Only. Auric Solar Lot off of South is a cash lot of $10. For non-rsl events, all parking lots may be opened as Cash Lots. Other transportation options Shuttle service is provided free of charge from Sandy City Hall two hours prior to kickoff. Drop-off and pick-up is at the north end of the stadium. Shuttle is ADA equipped. PG. 20

23 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How can I purchase tickets to an RSL Away game? You will need to purchase the tickets directly from the host team/venue. We can however, provide you with the direct contact to purchase your tickets. Please contact Thomas Penrose at or tpenrose@rsl.com for the contact information. Also check to see travel plans with your fellow RSL fans. I forgot or lost my Season Ticket, what do I do? If you have misplaced your ticket and are aware previous to game day, please contact your Fan Relations Coordinator or the Season Ticket Member Hotline. We will be happy to make the most convenient arrangement for you to get your ticket reprinted at no cost to you in advance. On the day of the game, please proceed to the Customer Service Window on either the East or West Box Office. The first reprint will be at no charge. This will be your Yellow Card warning. The next time you need your tickets reprinted, you will be issued a Red Card and $5 reprint fee. The good news is that you will not be suspended for the next match, but you will have to pay the $5 reprint fee any time you need your tickets reprinted on a game day and at the box office. PG. 21

25 GETTING INVOLVED IN A SUPPORTERS GROUP Getting involved with a supporters group Real Salt Lake has a diverse group of supporters that make up the fortress of what is Rio Tinto Stadium. Royal Army is the general group for all fans throughout the stadium. There are several, more specific groups that fall under Royal Army. La Barra Real, Salt City United (SCU), Riot Brigade, Section 26, Rogue Cavaliers Brigade(RCB), Section 35 (Wrecking Crew). Each of these groups make up the Royal Army, their collective effort of planning and organization brings a passion and atmosphere to Real Salt Lake soccer. Royal Army Chants When here at the stadium the Royal Army chants in unison, please refer to the website for the standard chants throughout the stadium. We encourage you to sing and chant with your fellow fans and create a passionate atmosphere. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM VULGAR OR INAPPROPRIATE CHANTS SUCH AS YSA AND PUTO. PG. 23

26 OTHER SOCCER EVENTS What is U.S. Open Cup? Dating back to 1914, the U.S. Open Cup is the oldest cup competition in United States soccer and is among the oldest in the world. Open to all affiliated amateur and professional teams in the United States, the annual U.S. Open Cup is a 100-plus-year-old single-elimination tournament. In a nutshell, the U.S. Open Cup is very similar to domestic cup competitions popular throughout Europe, South America and the rest of the world. Cup competitions, which usually run concurrent with a country s league season, are open in the early stages to any club that qualifies, giving local amateur teams a chance to compete against the best teams a country has to offer. The winner of each country s domestic cup competition, in addition to taking home the prize money, is automatically placed into a tournament to compete against neighboring countries cup winners. What is CONCACAF Champions League? The Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) is the region s premier competition for clubs. It was introduced for the 2008/09 season, replacing the Champions Cup, which had decided the Confederation s best team since Featuring 24 squads from each of CONCACAF s three sub-regions -- North America, Central America and the Caribbean -- the SCCL is played in two stages: the Group Stage and Knockout Stage. Berths are allocated by country or, in the case of the Caribbean, through a separate qualifying competition. Only the group winners advance to the Knockout Stage, which consists of a Quarterfinal Round, a Semifinal Round and a Final Round. In the quarterfinals, the group winner that completed the Group Stage with the best record will face the team with the eighth-best record from among the other group winners. In turn, two will play seven, three will play six, and four will face five. In the semifinals the winner of 1-vs- 8 advances to meet the winner of 4-vs-5, while winners of 3-vs-6 and 2-vs-7 will square off against each other. The Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League champion qualifies for the annual FIFA Club World Cup. PG. 24

27 CARNIVAL REAL Opening each RSL matchday two hours prior to kickoff, the new-and-improved Carnival Real features pre-game music from DJs, live bands and/or local radio stations, providing atmosphere for numerous fan zone activities, including: a mini pitch, mini Foot-Golf course, a 35-foot obstacle course, inflatables and a new playground. Always one to inspire an adventure, Maverik makes no exception when setting up shop in Carnival Real. You can often spot them next to their mobile rock wall with amazing swag to pass out to help enhance the mayhem inside Rio Tinto Stadium.
