5 THE SOUND The Sound of the Golden Hurricane marching band not only promotes school spirit by playing during games, but also provides halftime entertainment for the crowd. From movie soundtracks to patriotic tunes, classic to popular music, the Sound covers a variety of genres and serves as an integral part of the festivities. CAIN S ON CHAPMAN TU Athletics is excited to announce the Cain s on Chapman Concert Series. For three games this fall TU has partnered with Cain s Ballroom and Blockparty to bring a new and fun concert series to TU athletics. Stay tuned as we announce the artists for this season and join us 3 hours prior to every game as we begin tailgating in Chapman Commons. RAISE THE FLAG Get excited for the tradition of sounding the Hurricane siren and raising the flag between the 3rd and 4th quarters. TU TEAM WALK On game day, Tulsa football fans are encouraged to line 8th St. and Glenn Dobbs Dr. approximately two hours and 15 minutes prior to kickoff to cheer on the Golden Hurricane football team as they make their way to H.A. Chapman Stadium. CHAPMAN COMMONS Chapman Commons is the location for all your pre-game fun and entertainment for TU football in Live music, inflatable games, face tattoos, food and drinks make Chapman Commons the place to be before the game. Along with bringing the Cain s on Chapman Concert Series to three games this season, Blockparty will offer a variety of tailgate packages to Hurricane fans and visiting fans looking for a hassle-free game day experience. 10 GAME DAY PARKING INFORMATION Golden Hurricane Club members at varsity level ($300) or higher who have season tickets receive parking benefits for all home football games. On-campus parking during game days is reserved exclusively for Golden Hurricane Club members based on their level of membership. If you are a member of the Golden Hurricane Club and purchased individual game tickets, please call or ghc@utulsa.edu for parking options. FOOTBALL SHUTTLE INFORMATION Shuttle service begins 2 1/2 hours prior to kickoff and will continue to run for 1 hour post-game. PARKING AND SHUTTLE MAP If you are looking for great parking on campus you can also park in the 4th and Harvard lot for only $10 on game day. 12 GOLDEN HURRICANE CLUB TOUCHDOWN TAILGATE Prior to all home football games, Golden Hurricane Club members are invited to join other members for food, fun and entertainment on Chapman Commons. The Golden Hurricane Club s Touchdown Tailgate begins two hours prior to game time and closes 30 minutes prior to kickoff. MAKING RESERVATIONS To make reservations, please call GOLD (4653) and follow the voice prompts. Reservations must be made three business days prior to the tailgate in order to attend. MEAL CREDITS Your reservation deducts the meal credit from your account regardless of your actual attendance. 15 HEAD COACH PHILIP MONTGOMERY RETURNS FOR YEAR FOUR DETAILS defined as attention to particular items Entering the 2018 season, Details is the theme for the Tulsa football team in everything that the 100+ member squad does. The plan is that taking care of the Details will help prepare the Golden Hurricane to return itself to being explosive on offense and a defense that works cohesively to get off the field on third down and eliminate explosive plays. Coach Monty took his first two teams to bowl games the 2015 Camping World Independence Bowl and in 2016 won the Miami Beach Bowl while being explosive on offense and opportunistic on the defensive end. The Tulsa run game has been among the nation s best in each of the past two seasons, ranking among the top 15 each year. A young offense, lacking game experience last year, returns in 2018 a year older with a renewed passion and one that has shown more consistency and production this preseason. In Monty s three seasons, Tulsa s offense has averaged 36.5 points and 487 yards per game for some of the best 3-year numbers in college football. The Tulsa defense has taken that chip on the shoulder mentality to heart and is preparing for the 2018 season with a vengeance. The return of Tulsa s 2017 opening day starting safeties, who missed most of last season, definitely gives the Tulsa defensive unit a boost as does the influx of seven junior college transfers.
