Head Coach Philip Montgomery leads tulsa football In December, 2014, Philip Montgomery was named the 29th head coach in TU history. Coach Montgomery has logged nearly two decades of coaching experience, including the past seven ( ) at Baylor where he most recently served as the offensive coordinator for the Big 12 powerhouse. The Bears posted 10 or more wins in three of the last four years, including 11 victories in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. In 2014, Baylor produced an 11-1 record and No. 4 ranking in the Associated Press poll. A Texas native, Montgomery first began his association with Art Briles at Stephenville High School and coached alongside Baylor s head coach for 16 seasons. Montgomery moved with Briles to the University of Houston in 2003 and spent five years ( ) with the Cougars. In his career, Montgomery has tutored several award-winning and NFL quarterbacks, including Big 12 Player of the Year and New York Jets draft pick Bryce Petty, Heisman Trophy winner and Washington Redskins 2012 Rookie of the Year Robert Griffin III, Baylor All-American Nick Florence, Conference USA MVP and seven-year NFL veteran Kevin Kolb and Houston standout and St. Louis Rams quarterback Case Keenum. Prior to the intro video, fans will be prompted to WAVE THEIR FLAGS at which point fans will wave their flags to welcome the team on to the field. As a result, the Golden Hurricane Club offers a variety of game day parking options for members. Golden Hurricane Club members at the Varsity level ($300) and higher receive parking benefits as part of their annual membership. On-campus parking during game days is reserved exclusively for Golden Hurricane Club members based on their level of membership. Beer and water are available for purchase. For most games, TU Tavern on the Green begins two and a half hours prior to game time and closes 30 minutes before kickoff. To make reservations, please call GOLD (4653) and follow the voice mail prompts. Reservations must be made three business days prior to the tailgate in order to attend.
