2 Part I (60 marks) andidates are required to choose two physical activities, one from each of the following two categories: (i) (ii) badminton, basketball, football, volleyball, table tennis athletics, gymnastics, swimming ategory (i) adminton (30 marks). ssessment of asic Skills (20 marks) andidates are required to perform the following sequence twice (as shown in Figure 1). 1. 3 asketball (30 marks). ssessment of asic Skills (20 marks) andidates are required to perform the following sequence twice (as shown in Figure 2). 1. The candidate dribbles from to the right of cone and then performs a reverse protecting dribble to the left of cone. He/she then performs another reverse protecting dribble to cone. 2. The candidate then performs zig-zag dribbling between cones and, passes the defender (helper Z) with a cross-over and makes a lay-up shot. 3. The candidate immediately retrieves the ball, whether he/she scores or not. He/she passes the ball to helper using an overhead pass. He/she runs round helper, goes to the free throw position to receive the return pass from helper on a one-count stop. 4. 4 Football (30 marks). ssessment of asic Skills (20 marks) andidates are required to perform the following sequence once (both as a field player and a goalkeeper). 1. One field player and one goalkeeper will be assessed at the same time (as shown in Figure 3). 2. From point, the field player runs with the ball and cross passes to helper at the far post. The goalkeeper may handle the pass by catching, punching or tipping the ball. Helper then throws a high ball to the field player at. fter controlling the high dropping ball, the field player attempts to beat helper by using a feinting technique before he/she dribbles towards the goal and attempts to score. The goalkeeper may rush out to narrow the shooting angle and attempts to make a save. 3. The field player controls the ball passed from helper and returns it back to. He/she then receives the ball and dribbles around the cones in a zig-zag pattern. 4. t the end of the zig-zag dribbling, the field player runs with the ball and attempts to make a long drive to score out the penalty area while the goalkeeper attempts to narrow the shooting angle and make a save. 5. The field player runs to to receive and return by heading the ball thrown by helper. He/she then attempts to perform a volley shot with the ball thrown by helper, while the goalkeeper may rush out to narrow the shooting angle and attempt to make a save. 8 Part II (30 marks) andidates will be assessed in the following four items (each item carries 7½ marks): 1. Sit-ups (boys and girls) The candidate lies on his/her back with the knees flexed, the feet on the floor, and the heels between 30 and 45 cm from the buttocks. The feet are held by the helper to keep them in touch with the testing surface. The arms are crossed on the chest with the hands on the opposite shoulders. The arms must be kept on the chest all the time. On the command: Ready-go, the candidate curls up into a sitting position with the elbows touching the thighs. He/she then returns to the down position. sit-up is complete when his/her mid-back contacts the surface. The number of correctly executed sit-ups performed in 60 seconds will be recorded. 2. Sit and Reach (boys and girls) fter removing his/her shoes, the candidate sits down at the apparatus with the knees fully extended and the feet kept together. The soles of the feet should touch the end board. The arms are extended forward with the hands placed one on top of the other. To perform the test, the candidate reaches directly forward, palms down along the measuring scale as far as possible. Two trials are allowed and the position of the maximum reach must be held for at least one second. The best result will be recorded. 3. (a) Pull-ups (boys) The candidate begins by using an overhand grip (palms outward) to hang from a bar with his legs and arms fully extended. The feet should not touch the floor. On the command: Ready-go, the candidate pulls up his body with his arms until his chin is positioned over the bar. The candidate then lowers his body until his arms are fully extended. The candidate repeats the pull-up as many times as possible. pull-up will be counted each time the chin is positioned over the bar. Pull-ups done with excessive body swing will not be counted. (b) Flexed rm Hang (girls) The candidate uses an overhand grip (palms outward). The candidate will be helped to pull up her body off the floor to a position where the chin is above the bar, with the elbows flexed and the chest close to the bar. The candidate holds this position as long as possible and the length of time will be recorded m Run/Walk (boys and girls) On the command: Ready-go, candidates start from the starting line to cover a distance of 1609m.
