It s my pleasure ad privilege as presidet of the Co Atrim FA, to welcome sposors, guests, players, team ad match officials ad ot least, spectators at toight s Toals Seior Shield fial featurig the coutry s leadig teams Crusaders ad Lifield. The associatio s thaks go to Ballymea Uited for allowig us to use their topclass Showgrouds facilities for the occasio - the secod time i three years that the coucil-owed groud has bee selected as the fial veue followig objectios by Lifield over a iitial decisio made by the Seior Shield Committee. But all s well that eds well, ad the Co. Atrim are delighted to be back i the Braid for the decisive game i the pricipal competitio withi their domai. Back i 2014, it was Lifield who got their hads o the trophy for the 43rd time - oe of those by the Swifts (1949) - whe beatig toight s oppoets 4-1 o pealties after a 0-0 draw. No doubt Blues fas ad officials would settle for a case of deja vu. The Shore Road me, chasig a hat-trick of league titles which has ot bee achieved sice Lifield s last success i 2012, are hopig to add the Toals Shield to their trophy cabiet for a sixth time.
