Mineral Area College April 2017 Newsletter Upward Bound Trivia Night & Silent Auction To Benefit BackStoppers Success! On Saturday, March 11th, Upward Bound students, staff, alumni, and community members came together at North County High School to participate in a fundraiser for BackStoppers and an Upward Bound law enforcement scholarship. The night was a huge success. We had fifteen teams for trivia and over forty items that were auctioned. The total raised was $2034.04. We would like to give special recognition to T.J. Isgrig, St. Francois County Ambulance District EMT/paramedic, Mark Mattina, Farmington Fire Department Captain, and Ryan Miller, Farmington Police Officer who spoke to the students about careers, education and safe driving. Also, Farmington Police Department Chaplain, Kevin Kapper volunteered his time to emcee the trivia night. The night would not have been a success without everyone s help. Please take time to look at the businesses located on the insert who donated to our auction. We hope you will thank these businesses with your patronage when possible.
