Winthrop Public Library Libraries Rock! Summer Reading 2018 Programs & Events Some programs are funded by the Winthrop Cultural Council. Friends of the Winthrop Public Library also sponsor many of these programs! Friends Rock!! Winthrop Public Library - 2 Metcalf Square - 617-846-1703

Kids Weekly Programs Toddler Craft Time PJ Storytime* Little Wiggles* Monday 10:30 am Join us for a story and a craft based on a tale! A number of our crafts will be based on this summer's theme "Libraries Rock!" Tuesday Wednesday 7:00-7:30 pm Put on your pjs, grab your teddy bear and come to the library for a good time! We will read stories and end the night with some fun! PJs encouraged, but not required. Open to those up to Grade 1. 10:30-11:00 am Clap your hands, stomp your feet & wiggle with the beat! This is a high energy music and movement program where your children will be wiggling and giggling throughout! Ages 2-5 years Storytime in the Sunshine* Thursday 11:30-12:30 pm Bring your lunch and kick back in the sunshine while we read stories on the lawn outside the library (weather permitting). Storytime will be held inside when there's bad weather. Friday Storytime - Infants & Toddlers 10:30-11:00 am Join us as we read stories and sing songs! Storytime - Preschoolers 11:30 am One storytime not enough? Stick around for this second one for preschoolers! * = Programs will run from June 25 to August 30

End of Summer Ice Cream Social Thursday, August 30, Time TBD We all scream for ice cream! Celebrate the end of the summer by enjoying some ice cream on us!

Open to those entering grades 4-8 Have fun while learning how to do the electric slide, swing, or even the chicken dance as we teach you some awesome dance moves (and maybe you can even teach us some!) Open to grades 5-8. Lego Club 3:00-4:30 pm Come build with the library's Lego collection! Open to all ages! Pokemon Club Wednesday 3:00-4:30 pm Calling all Pokemon Trainers! Battle it out, trade your cards, and make new friends with other trainers. * = Programs will run from June 25 to August 30

Random Fandom Teen Trivia Monday, June 11, 3:30-4:30 pm Come test your fandom know-how against your friends' for a chance at prizes! Summer Reading Kickoff After Hours Lock-In Monday, July 9, 6:00-11:00 pm Party in the library after hours! Permission slips are required and can be obtained from Mary Kate Schulte or from the circulation desk. Rock Band! Thursday, July 12 AND August 9, 2:00-4:00 pm Teen Programs Teen Trivia Thursday, July 19 AND August 2, 2:00-4:00 pm Test your useless knowledge against your friends' for a chance at eternal glory! Wii Dance Tournament Thursday, July 26, 2:00-4:00 pm So you think you can dance...? Come to the library's Wii Dance Tournament to show off your dancing skills! Rock Painting Thursday, August 16, 2:00-4:00 pm The library will really be rocking at this event! All supplies provided!* Just drop by! *While Supplies Last! Karaoke! Thursday, August 23, 2:00-4:00 pm Do you have what it takes to be a rock star? Stop by our Rock Band Tournament to find out! Last teen-only event of the summer. Prizes to those brave enough to sing!
