First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard Training National Lifeguard Service (NLS) Bronze Medallion and Emergency B Must be 13 years old or have completed Bronze Star Members/Non-Members $180.00 + HST Teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water-rescue education - good judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness. Rescuers learn tows and carries, and defence methods and releases in preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk involving conscious and unconscious victims of various types. Lifesavers develop stroke efficiency and endurance in a 500m timed swim. Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm July 9,10,11,12 &13 Tuesday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm August 7,8,9 & 10 Bronze Cross & Standard First Aid with CPR C Must have completed Bronze Medallion & Emergency B or Standard First Aid (current or not current) Members/Non-Members $230.00 + HST Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training including an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for all advanced training programs including National Lifeguard and Instructor certifications. The Bronze Cross course includes a 600m timed swim. Must have completed Bronze Medallion. Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm July 16,17,18,19 & 20 Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm August 13,14,15,16 &17 National Lifeguard Service (NLS) Must have completed Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid with CPR-C, 16 years of age. Members/Non-Members $325.00 + HST National Lifeguard Standard is Canada s professional lifeguard standard. National lifeguard training develops a strong understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment as well as a mature and responsible attitude towards the lifeguards role. National Lifeguard training emphasizes prevention and effective rescue response in emergencies including first aid training. Candidates develop teamwork, leadership, communication skills. Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm July 23-27 Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm August 20-24

Standard First Aid & CPR C Members/Non-Members $109.00 + HST Standard First Aid provides comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid and CPR. Standard First Aid incorporates all of Emergency First Aid and is designed for those who require a more in-depth understanding of first aid including; legal implications of first aid treatment, spinal injuries, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, chest injuries and medical emergencies. This includes a CPR C Certification. Saturday - Sunday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm July 7 & 8 Saturday - Sunday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm August 25 & 26 Recertifications National Lifeguard Service (NLS) Proof of current NLS Certifications required Participants must bring their own alert manual and whistle. Members/Non-Members $115.00 + HST Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm July 27 Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm August 24 Lifesaving Society Standard First Aid and CPR C certification is required two (2) years after your original certification. The National Lifeguard recertification is required every two (2) years. Standard First Aid & CPR C Recertification Members/Non-Members $90.00 + HST Sunday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm July 8 Sunday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm August 26 Holders of Standard First Aid certificates from other agencies may not recertify on a life saving society recertification course. They may recertify only with the original certifying agency.

We use our certified instructors to ensure a learning plan that is right for your child. The purchase of private lessons may only be done in person at the front desk. A private lesson form must be completed and signed at time of purchase.

Semi-Private Lessons 6 x 30 minutes $110.00 + HST A great way for siblings or friends with similar skill sets and swimming goals to share a lesson! Please contact the Private Lesson Coordinator for further details at privatelessons@kingston.ymca.ca Advanced Course Prep 6 x 30 minutes $140.00 + HST 6 x 60 minutes $275.00 + HST Becoming a Lifeguard requires participants to complete several courses including Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and National Lifeguard. A strong knowledge base in Lifesaver theory, rescue skills and physical fitness are needed to be successful in these courses. Whether you re preparing to take on the next course, waiting to become of age or need extra time outside the course dates, our private lessons can help boost a participant s knowledge and skill in and out of the water. Our private swim lessons can be catered to adults of all abilities whether looking to further their current skill level or wanting to learn how to swim from scratch! Youth Fitness Programs Youth Sports Conditioning Boot Camp July 3 - August 30 (no classes August 6th - Civic Holiday) Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm Ages 13-17 Members $180.00 + HST Non-Members $360.00 + HST Participants will gain skills and improve on their speed, agility, and strength in this personal trainer led boot camp. Perfect for the athlete looking to improve their skills on ice, field, gym floor, or just to improve fitness level. All while becoming comfortable in a fitness centre atmosphere.

Youth Recreation Programs Basketball Skills Looking to beat the heat? Join us here this summer and improve your skills! We are offering youth skills programs for ages 9-15 to help them take your expertise to the next level. With small group numbers, each participant will get plenty of training and access to our experienced staff to help them improve their knowledge, technique, and skills with every session.
