Autumn Term: No 7 Tel 01737 354541 email: info@tadworthps.surrey.sch.uk Website: www.tadworthps.surrey.sch.uk 17 October 2014 Happiness is Photography Competition for our Whole School Community (parents can enter too) During the month of October our assemblies have focused on the value of Happiness. This has been such a successful value that we have decided to extend the topic to a thought provoking competition. We invite you to submit a photograph which could go with the title: Happiness is... In assembly on Monday the whole school was involved in coming up with criteria which our House Captains will be taking into consideration when judging entries. The winning picture will: Fit the brief and make the viewer feel happy (or smile) Be of good quality Have good composition a well framed shot (e.g. angle, positioning of the subject) Not have something distracting in the background that detracts from the image Be original Be the entrants own photograph Other important information Deadline for submissions is Friday 7th November (This gives you half term to get snapping) Any photos entered may be used in school on display, in our newsle er or on our website (Please do not enter any pictures of anyone without their permission) For children s entries, please include on the back of the photo: name, class and house Children s entries must be photos taken by them For any parents or staff members wishing to enter, please include on the back your name and your connection to the school (e.g. daughter in Bumblebees class ) Any individual may enter up to three photographs Entries to be sent in to your son/daughter s class teacher We hope to have an entry from as many of the children in the school as we can. There will be prizes and plenty of house points up for grabs. The judges had a practice run in assembly based on some Happiness is photos, which can be seen below. Happy snapping! JK Keeping Sick Children Away from School May we remind parents that children who have suffered from a sickness or diarrhoea bug should be kept off school for a period of 48 hrs after their last bout of illness. We would also ask that you check with school if your child is suffering from an infectious ailment/condition to help determine whether they should or should not be in school. This is particularly important currently as we have children in school with weakened immune systems. Thank you for your co-operation. FP
