From luxurious manicures to invigorating new body treatments, Jade & Earth Spa & Health Club is here to care for guests in need of some pampering. You ll delight in the scents of autumn as the soft aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg evoke the spirit of fall and inspires a sense of relaxation while hydrating and soothing your skin. During the summer, skin can become dehydrated and the damaging rays of the sun can speed up the aging process. At the same time, the dry, cold winter months are approaching, so this is the best time of year to rehydrate and rejuvenate your skin with Pumpkin. Time to start thinking about winterizing boats & cooler temps & all things pumpkin. We can still enjoy the foliage season at Green Turtle Bay, Grand Rivers & Land Between the Lakes. Let s talk a little about our September & October events before going on to November & December At the Bay. The CYC annual Seafood Boil was another successful & delicious event. 187 folks enjoyed the wonderful seafood dinner & braved the September heat. Here in Western Kentucky you never know what temps you will get & it was quite hot this year, but fortunately no rain. Again, this year the Seafood Boil could not happen without all the volunteers from the Board of Directors, friends, neighbors, & the Green Turtle Bay crew who pitched in to setup the tent, tables & chairs, cleaning those tables & chairs, bussing tables & cooking all that food. Thanks to everyone who took the time to help out & make this another great event. This year s CYC 13th Commonwealth Cup Regatta was fantastic & we had a great attendance. We had a few weather wind hiccups on Saturday but overall the regatta was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended & raced. We had a large & fun time. This year there was a record; 21 overall boats with 16 vying for the coveted Commonwealth Cup,& 5 J22 s competing to win the J22 s trophies. Congratulations to all our race winners. The Commonwealth Cup trophy went to Brett Trelfa racing on Aries. Cruising Class 1st Place was won by Brady Gorbacz racing on Tranquility, & 2nd Place went to Cliff Hynniman racing on Finish Line. JAM B winners were 3rd Place Sharla Sparks on Fat Cat, 2nd Place Steve Smith on Healing Time, & 1st Place Brett Trelfa on Aries. JAM A winners were 3rd Place John Pinney on Flag, 2nd Place Keith Feather on Chill, & 1st Place Lee Bird on Neptune. Spinnaker 3rd Place Wayne Cassidy on Southern Cross, 2nd Place Marc Crutcher on Apex, & 1st Place to James Wells sailing on Whirlaway. CYC Spring 2018 Sailing Series winners were 3rd Place Dan Lassiter, 2nd Place-Dave Casey, & 1st Place was Steve Smith. CYC Fall 2017 Sailing Series winners were 3rd Place Tim Crowell, 2nd Place Steve Smith, & 1st Place Dave Casey. Our J22 Racing results were 3rd Place Bruce Berner on Ambush, 2nd Place Doug Davis on Cool Kids, & 1st Place winner was Chip Riddle on Two Dollar Pistol. Again, thank you to all sailors who participated & congratulations to winners. Hope to see everyone here next year for our 14th Commonwealth Cup Regatta. This regatta would not have been possible without all the volunteers who worked so diligently Friday, Saturday & Sunday to make this event a ginormous success. Thank you everyone. As of this writing the Commonwealth Yacht Club & Thirsty Turtle s Halloween parties have not happened but I am sure they will be loads of funds. Will try to have pictures in the December NautiNews. Now to November & December events. Grand Rivers Festival of Lights starts on Friday, November 2nd at 5pm & runs into the first of January. Enjoy a magical light display kicking off the 2018 Holiday Season with 700,000 lights that will light up hundreds of trees with garland & ornaments around Grand Rivers at Patti s 1880 Settlement, downtown Grand Rivers, shops, & restaurants. Enjoy the music by the Eddy Grove Trio. Witness the Zions Cause Live Nativity with a special visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus at Patti s 1880 Settlement. While you re at Grand Rivers, enjoy the Musical Christmas productions at the Badgett Playhouse. Visiting Grand Rivers during the Festival of Lights is an unforgettable experience. November 3rd & December 1st are the Board of Directors meetings at the Commonwealth Yacht Club starting at 9am. If you have any event suggestions contact Commodore Danny Cope as the board will be setting up the calendar of events for 2019. November 10th is the last Fall Sailing Series race for the year. Join Chris Riley on Kentucky Lake around 10am to participate in the racing. The CYC will be closed for Thanksgiving on November 22nd. Gobble, gobble! The annual CYC Christmas Party dinner & dance is December 1st. What a terrific way to start your holiday season! The annual New Years Eve at the Commonwealth Yacht Club is December 31st. See you soon, Ann Donnelly Past Commodore

Welcome New Members! TOMMY BURRUSS, MIKE & PAM GOURLEY, JEFF JAMES, TYLER & KARA GEIGER, TIM BROWN, STEPHANIE HILL To promote and encourage fellowship, friendship and camaraderie among our members and guests, by creating, organizing and providing boating activities for our club members and the surrounding water communities. Commodore s Corner Desire is the key to motivation but its determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal a commitment to excellence that will enable you to attain the success you seek. My name is Danny Cope, the new commodore for the new CYC fiscal year. If I have not met you; my most important desire is to meet you. My e-mail is danycope51@gmail. com and my phone number is 270-331-7636. Please contact me so we can meet at the club, on your pier or wherever is convenient for you. Active membership is essential to the success of any organization. My goal is for all of us to join together and have a record year. I challenge each CYC member to sponsor ONE new member each this year! ONLY ONE! We can double our membership, and if we will all set goals to participate, our mission to give, serve, and help our club and community can double. November is a month of Thanksgiving. Let us all be thankful for our God or higher power, our family and our health. Be thankful for Green Turtle Bay, and the vision Bill Gary III had. His vision and goals became a reality because he and his family saw the opportunity to build a resort where people could come to relax, enjoy life loving water sports, boating and fellowship with people from all over the country. My wife and I are so thankful to be a part of this wonderful community called Green Turtle Bay Resort. If you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can become it. I thank each and every one of you for allowing me to be your CYC commodore. I pledge to give one hundred twenty five percent, to lead us into a record year in membership and achievements. I see every function growing to record goals. Together we are strong. A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. Your Commodore, Danny Cope Danny Cope Commodore We would like to emphasize that all CYC members are welcomed at any CYC-sponsored event.
