In an effort to shorten the time for a potential member to actually become a member we will no longer be posting candidate information in the Newsletter. Fall Festival Fight Against Cancer The Cody Lodge Officers want to thank the membership for all the support during the very successful Fall Festival Fight Against Cancer. Over 300 people attended the event and we look forward to hosting it again next year. Exalted Ruler s Message I hope that everyone had an enjoyable September. The leaves are turning and Fall is in the air. The Lodge has several events planned for October. The Queen of Hearts game will start on Sat. the 1 st. For all of you that enjoy a game of chance there is a Texas Hold em game on Sat. the 8 th, scheduled to start at 6:00 PM. A cribbage tournament will be held on the 15 th, beginning at 1:30 PM. Fly tying class for Disabled Vets is held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the Fourth Sat. of each month. It is open to all veterans. There is a new drink package available for NFL Sunday. Come in and ask the bartenders for details. All this is in addition to our regularly scheduled Bingo, Taco Tuesday, Thirsty Thursday and Friday Night Meal. Please come in and Support our lodge. Cub Pack 50 held its Recruitment Campfire on the Elks lawn on Sept 7. Seven new boys were enrolled into our Pack. Also joining our Pack are Courtney and Todd Legler. DeAnn Baily joined Cody Lodge on Noverber 25, 2016. She was a 2 year Member of Cody Lodge. Olyn Allbert joined Cody Lodge on October 28, 1970. He was a 46 year Member of Cody Lodge. We had a great crowd! We appreciate all the kind remarks and compliments from those of you who took the time to thank our cooks and servers. We are happy to learn that so many of you are happy that we are serving dinners downstairs. Thanks to our loyal Does members who cook, serve, provide food and supplies, and act as cashiers for our dinners. This very small group of members carry this Drove s success. Their efforts are appreciated! Our next Chicken Fried Steak dinner will be held after the New Year. Our next benevolent project will be announced soon. Watch for it! A very special thank you goes out to Does members Charlie and Jo Anne Stickney and Kay Horwath for their donation of the beautiful Memorial Plaque that Charlie made for us. His craftsmanship is wonderful, and we are so happy to have received this beautiful plaque. Bonnie will be putting it in the appropriate place at the Lodge. Join us for our next Social Birthday luncheon will be held on Wednesday, October 12 at noon at the Irma Hotel. Our next meeting will be held on Saturday, October 15 th at 11:15 a.m. in the Governor s Room at the Irma Hotel. Hope to see you there! QUEEN OF HEARTS Every Thursday RULES There are 52 cards and 2 jokers for a total of 54 opportunities To win on the Queen of Hearts Board.Tickets - $1.00 Each Tickets will be sold only at the Cody Elks Lodge ALL TICKETS MUST HAVE THE NAME OF AN ELK OR DOE MEMBER ON THE BACK OF THE TICKET, AND IT MUST BE LEGIBLE. MEMBERS MUST HAVE VALID ELKS / DOES MEMBERSHIP CARD ON THEM AT TIME OF DRAWING. One weekly winner will be selected on Thursday at 7:00 PM and that person will select one of the Queen of Hearts tabs on the board. Once the Queen of Hearts tab on the board is revealed a new board will begin play the following week. The amount of the jack pot will be posted every week. Players Must Be Present To Win The Night Of The Drawing PAYOUTS: Queen of Hearts: 60 % of the pot, other cards drawn pay out according to card drawn. Check at the lodge for more details NFL Sundays are Back Ever Sunday the Club will be open at 10:45 am for the enjoyment of all NFL games. Free food will be served during the morning and afternoon games. Watch your favorite team on one of our 8 TVs'. First Sunday Game of the this Year will be a carry-in lunch.
