On October 3, 2015! We left Valdosta with a caravan of nine (9) vehicles going down and joined by two (2) more at the Advent Christian Village. There was an off again - on again misting rain throughout most of the day. Attendance for the show was down due to heavy rains in the out-lying areas. Those of us that were there had a great time talking with other car owners, visiting vendor booths and listening to great Oldies - Goldies played by the DJ all day. SGCCC Members did quite well in the awards portion of the show. Those in attendance and awards received included: Dan & Chris Bremer Dennis & Cheryl Smith George & Ann Peterson (2 vehicles) Jim Kelty Johnny Swilley (2 vehicles) Bill Higgins (continued on page 4)

Wow, it s hard to believe that only recently, it seems, we were all meeting up at the Mall to host our Spring Super Cruise-in and now, we are only days away from hosting our Fall Car and Truck Show. If the months seem to fly by so quickly, how is it that pay day never seems to get here? Speaking of shows, our club s 32 nd Annual Fall Show scheduled for November 7 th is just around the corner. This year s show will be held at the 5 Points Shopping Center on N. Ashley Street and, promises to be our largest and most enjoyable yet, The Organizing Committee has been hard at work planning what we all hope to be our best show ever. Participation by all club members the day of the show is necessary, so if you have not volunteered to be a part of this process, please do so now. Specific committees consist of parking, judging, hospitality, registration, trophy and door prizes, marketing and advertising, and entertainment to name just a few. So please join in the fun as everyone s participation is important to ensure the show s success. The 2 nd Saturday and 3 rd Thursday cruise-ins for October were very well attended by both participants and spectators thanks to cooler weather and no rain at all. Thank you Mr. Weatherman -- again. We all had a good time at Dasher Days -- the 122 nd anniversary celebration for the city of Dasher, GA. We had good representation from our club at this event -- the organizers were thankful for our attendance. Several members attended the annual car shows in Dowling Park FL and Albany, GA -- many came home with very nice trophies. Upcoming events include the club s monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 3 rd, 6-8pm, at Austin s Cattle Company -- our last meeting before the Fall Show. Our second Saturday cruise-in will not be held due to hosting our 32 nd Annual Car and Truck Show at 5 Points in Valdosta. The 3 rd Thursday cruise-in will be on November 19 th, 3-6pm. Keep checking your email, the web-site and by attending our local cruise-ins to learn of any additional activities. Keep you copy of the Driver s seat handy for easy reference or visit our club web-site at http://sgccc.org or our Facebook page for on-going updates on up-coming events. Keep it between the ditches.. Rick

Much preparation has been done by the Planning Committee, and we need all members to participate in preparation and execution of this show. This can be one of the best ever. A new venue for the show this year is the parking lot at % Points Shopping Center. There should be plenty of parking. There are a couple of restaurants in the shopping center, and several more just south down Ashley Street. There is also a limited amount of shopping available. There is a lot of drive-by traffic at this location, so we should have a good crowd of spectators. We had good representation at the ACV Car Show in Dowling Park, and our club brought home several trophies. Several went to the Albany Car show sponsored by the Artesian City Car Club. The Mustang Show at VSU was on October 24. This should have been a good show for raising scholarship money at VSU. Be sure to get some good car pictures at the shows you attend and share them with membership through the Driver s Seat. Invite a or acquaintance to our Fall Classic Car & Truck Show, and invite someone to join join SGCCC! And every chance you get, take a kid to a car show! Happy Cruising! - David Boyd, editor
