This has always been my favorite time of the year. The hot weather is fading rapidly and the foliage will soon be spectacular. All too soon the leaves will fall and cover parts of our golf courses, providing hiding places for even the best struck balls. But that is a small price to pay for enjoying Mother Nature in all her finery. It s been a great year with many scheduled outings, 9 & Dines, national and regional events, impromptu golf, and the high point The 2 nd Annual Hickory Chapter Championship. The good news there s plenty of fun still ahead! So come out and enjoy yourself in the beautiful Carolinas. The courses are not crowded, the landscapes are inspiring, and the air is crisp and clean.
