1 CELEBRATING 11 YEARS OF SINGLES GOLF IN AMERICA Orlando Chapter - American Singles Golf Association June 2004 ASGA Orlando Announces Weekly Golf!! Hi everyone. Our membership has expressed interest in playing more golf and that is what we will be doing starting the month of June. In addition to our 2 monthly outings we will be golfing one Saturday and one Sunday each month. Thanks to Brenda Fisher and Steve Coe for helping organize these outings. These outings will be informal and will be a play your own ball format. Look for s from ASGAOR- LANDO@AOL.COM. It was a busy month with an outing at North Shore and a weekend in Daytona. I had a lot of fun at both, thanks to Sue for organizing a great trip to Daytona! Speaking of trips, Ellen from Jacksonville was saying that the Amelia Island trip is filling up very quickly. If anyone is thinking about going I suggest you hurry before it is filled up like the Santee trip. Our group is continuing lessons with Jay Golden on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM at Winter Pines. The lessons are $25 for an hour. Everyone has been playing much better golf and hitting the ball much further. Don, Rosa, Mariko, and myself have been playing much better. I have been hitting the ball at least 20 to30 yards further and much straighter. We have a couple of members who have been taking private lessons from Jay also. Everyone seems very happy with his or her progress. Nine and Dine continues to be a lot of fun. We are teeing off at 5:30-5:45 now to make it easier for the working crowd to play. Even if you cannot golf stop by and join us for dinner. We always have a lot of fun and good conversation. There is a survey included in this newsletter or feel free to fill out the same survey at the website: Please fill out the survey and bring it to the next meeting or fax it to By filling out the survey you will help us help everyone make our club better for everyone. Thanks to Diane Weinzierl for all her hard work on this survey! Have a great 24 Al From the Golf Chair Do you believe we are half way through this great year? That means I have only six more newsletters to write. Hooray!! Saturday, May 1, was our tournament at North Shore. What a great course. We had twenty players for this outing. The players were given a choice to play their own ball or play a shamble. John MacMillan won first place and Joe Bellino won second place, playing their own ball. Al Amore won first place and Don Barnes and Sue Walther tied for second place playing the shamble. Bob Fratto and Sue Walther won closest to the pin. Two rounds of golf each. NEXT MEETING Tues., June 8th - 7 p.m. Happy Hour begins at 6 pm - Mark your Calendar The Orlando chapter American Single Golf Association meets on the second Tuesday of the month the Best Western/Mt. Vernon Inn, 110 So. Orlando Ave.,. Located directly across from Houston s. Happy Hour is at 6 p.m. and Meeting at 7 p.m. Dinner TBA. Invite your friends. Visit our chapter s website at:
