From the Club House March is here, and spring is just around the corner! January and February kept us pretty busy in Food and Beverage with several parties, meetings and events.

We will be serving all your favorite Irish Foods including corned beef, shepherds pie and fish and chips as well as drink specials and desserts all day long.

Saturday, March 31 st is the Annual Fishing Day at the pond. Bring the family out at daylight and see who can reel in the biggest fish! We will be serving breakfast and lunch in the grill room.

Valentine s Day was an enormous success and we appreciate you spending your special day with us! Mark your calendars for our annual St. Patrick s Day Party. Friday, March 23 rd we will be having a wine tasting with Beverage Distributors. Reserve a table now and enjoy a fun night of wine, great food and music. We will keep them clean and have them loaded for you when you arrive to play. The fee is only $90 for the year. WVGA VIP Cards are now available in the golf shop to those who keep a current handicap at the club. If you need a handicap for the upcoming season, please let the golf shop know and we will get you set-up in the system. Please contact Mike with any questions! Exciting News for Bridgeport Country Club and our Assistant Golf Professional Mike Gervais. In January, Mike was recognized by U.S. Kids Golf as one of the Top 50 Kids Teachers for This award recognizes the world s most outstanding youth golf instructors. Mike received his award at the Annual PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida. The Top 50 Kids Teachers of 2017 includes golf professionals from 26 states, and five international countries including Austria, England, Honduras, Italy, and Northern Ireland. Each year, award recipients include teachers who work at public, private, resort and municipal courses. These coaches are honored as more than instructors, explained Dan Van Horn, the President and Founder of U.S. Kids Golf. They create outstanding opportunities for young golfers to learn in a fun and rewarding environment that instills a love for the game and engages the entire family. 5 WOMEN S GOLF ASSOCIATION OF BCC 2015 Women's Golf Association of BCC The Women s Golf Association is looking forward to our Opening Day of golf on Tuesday, April 24 th. We will meet at 9:00AM for breakfast and then enjoy a 9-hole scramble at 10:00AM to get the season started. There will be a sign-up sheet in the locker room around the beginning of April. Please sign up by April 17 th so we can let the kitchen staff know the number and so that teams can be set-up. Hopefully the weather will cooperate! Golf will be at 10:00AM through the end of April. Beginning in May, we will tee off at 9:00AM and continue with that starting time through September. We will again have the Ringer Board to compile your improvement in the game throughout the season. The Women s Golf Clinics with Michael will begin on Thursday s during the month of May. More to come on that and future clinics available in the very near future. Our next important date is the Member-Guest on Tuesday, June 26 th. We will meet sometime in April to begin planning for it, but it s never too early to begin to get your foursome together! Chris Grenier is our new Board Member and we welcome his expertise on the Pool Committee this year. Ginny Vincent s term was over and we thank her for serving well. She really cared and it showed. Vinnie D Annunzio is over our Clubhouse Committee. Chuck Marsh helps with our Golf Course Superintendent Shawn Jeffries and recently produced some Deep Tines for our Vertidrain, which vent the greens. Next Monday, 3/5, we will use it. Marcy Blount chairs our Pool Committee that met 2/1. Alicia George has accepted management of our Pool again this year. Thanks Alicia! We are choosing new Pool Furniture now! Parking lot will be paved as soon as the weather and contractor agree. Christine has signed 7 new Members this year to date. We are on the way back up!
