I, agree to the following: Practices: All scheduled practices are MANDATORY! All practices will be held at Sutter High School football field. Nor-cal Fed will allow us to practice for 10 hours a week until school starts and once school starts we can practice 6 hours a week. There will be a meeting on Monday July 15 th 6pm at HS. Practices will start on Tuesday July 16 th and will go through Friday. We will practice from 6:00 8:30 unless other notification is given. Once school starts (In Sutter) practice times will be 6:00 8:00 and the days will change to Tuesday through Thursday. If any of the squads make it to State Competition, practices will be the same time and days but will be held in the gym (or other school facility). If a cheerleader is to miss practice she MUST CALL ONE OF THE COACHES PRIOR to 5:30. No call PRIOR to 5:30 will result in an unexcused absence. See coach for their phone number or call the Cheer Coordinator. Roll will be taken at 6:00pm sharp. If I am late to practice, the following will occur: 1. Up to 6:10 p.m., the tardy cheerleader will do 1 extra lap. 2. From 6:11 to 6:25 p.m., the cheerleader will do the above and 20 jumps or an agreed upon consequence. The will also have to do the ten minutes of stretching they have missed on their own. 3. After 6:25 p.m., the cheerleader will do both of the above and miss1/4 of that week s game. Sitting out of a cheer or part of a game requires coach approval! No chewing gum, eating, or grooming during practices or games. I will be responsible for my own water. The Cheer Coach or instructor will determine appropriate water breaks. 1 Page 2013 Season
I understand that I am responsible for maintaining school/homework and must avoid disciplinary action that would result in my suspension from school to remain on this squad. I will have a good attitude at all practices, games, camp, competition, or any other event where I represent the Sutter Junior Huskies from the beginning of the day until the end of the day. I will be respectful in my words and actions, especially to my teammates (no bullying) and Huskies coaching staff. I understand that being late or absent from practices or games makes it difficult for my teammates and instructors to create a place for me in cheers and dances. I will be on time. I will stay with coaches and instructors until I am released to my parent(s) or other arrangements have been made. NO JEWELERY with the exception of medical alert jewelry. This includes all earrings and body piercing no studs. I will be responsible for my own jewelry at practices, games, and camps. No nail polish at any practices or events. Nails must be kept short. (If when making a fist, you leave fingernail marks in your palm, the nail is too long). Artificial nails are not allowed. Arrival to a game with nail polish that has not been removed by check in time will result in ¼ of game and must be removed by that time. Make-up must be natural. If a coaching staff can tell you are wearing makeup, you must wash it off. NO GLITTER. Tattoos, real or fake, must be removed or covered up. Hair must be consistent with other cheerleaders; it is part of the uniform. Hair must be off the back of the neck and away from the face. Bangs must be clipped. I will wear approved practice clothes ONLY! NO DEMIN OR JEAN STYLE SHORTS, HALTER TOPS, MIDRIFF OR SPAGHETTI STRAP SHIRTS ARE TO BE WORN AT PRACTICE. Arrival in any of these items will result in sitting out of practice and documented as a tardy. Not being prepared to practice is a hardship on the entire squad. I will wear a complete and clean uniform to all games and events. This includes hair ribbons, bows, and proper socks. If I do not do this I may have to sit out for that game. Bags with warm-ups and bodyliner must be brought to every game. All cheerleaders are required to change out of their entire uniform and shoes at the completion of their game. Wearing their uniform and shoes after their game is not permitted. If benched during a game or for a game, I understand I must attend the game in uniform and sit with the coaching staff until I have satisfied my required time out. I will keep personal problems off the practice and game field. (Conflict within a squad will be addressed for resolution.) My parents and coaches will address serious issues. I will reserve my visiting and chattering for before or after games and practice, so I can focus on my coaches and instructors. I understand that practice time is for cheerleading only. I will not have friends, siblings, etc at practice so I can focus my complete attention on my coaches and instructors. When at practice and games, I will give 100% effort. Once you leave the cheering area, you must sit out for the remainder of the day. STUNTING: NO STUNTING may be performed by any cheerleader(s) at any game, camp, competition, OR any other function without a stunt certified coach present. Cheerleader(s) may NOT stunt under the supervision of their parents. Cheer Coordinator and the Head Coach. A written note and a call to one of the coaches from your parent are required for any absence. If ill for more than 3 days, a doctor s note will need to be provided. Three (3) late/tardies equal one (1) unexcused absence. Each unexcused absence will result in being benched for one quarter. Three (3) unexcused absences will result in being removed from the squad for the rest of the season. Two (2) unexcused absences in the month prior to competition will result with being removed from the squad for competition. For a school function, prior notification is courteous and necessary. If a cheerleader is misbehaving, she will receive a verbal warning. If a cheerleader continues to be disruptive, the head coach will contact the parent(s) and may request that the parent attends practice, as well as the cheer coordinator will be notified. If the cheerleader is still misbehaving, the Cheer Coordinator will be notified, the cheerleader will be removed from the squad for the day and sent home. The misbehavior will be brought to the attention of the SJH board, discussed and the cheerleader may be removed from the squad if the board sees fit. All disciplinary action will be noted in the player s file. WARNING: I understand that if I do not abide by the above guidelines, I will receive, first a verbal warning and it will be noted in my file. Next, a written warning with a conference between my Head Coach, the Cheer Coordinator, and my parents will take place and it will be noted in my file. If my misbehavior continues, I understand that I may be removed from my squad for the rest of the season. UNIFORMS: My uniform is to be cleaned appropriately before each game. I understand that it is important for my uniform to look and smell clean. It should look like new at the end of the season, except for normal wear and tear. Shoes should be washed thoroughly, but dried cautiously so no shrinking occurs. 5 Page 2013 Season
