City of Whittier LOCAL APPOINTMENTS LIST Government Code Section 54972 Listed below are all boards, commissions, and committees, which are appointed by, and serve at the pleasure of the Whittier City Council. To be eligible to serve on any of these boards, commissions, or committees, a resident must be a qualified elector of the City of Whittier. BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES Members give advice on all matters concerning City libraries, consider and recommend the annual budget for library purposes to the City Council, establish policies regarding the acquisition of books and periodicals, and assist in planning Library facilities to meet the needs of the City and school population. Local Appointments List Page 6 PUENTE HILLS HABITAT PRESERVATION AUTHORITY CITIZENS TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE 3 Members, Two-Year Terms The Citizens Technical Advisory Committee is comprised of representatives from the communities of Whittier, La Habra Heights, and the unincorporated areas of Hacienda Heights and Rowland Heights in Los Angeles County. Advisory Committee Members are approved by their respective agencies and appointed by the Habitat Authority for the purpose of acting as a liaison between the Habitat Authority and the residents of the communities within their subject jurisdiction, as well as advising the Board of Directors, at its expressed direction, on various parkland matters. Committee Members also work on a variety of issues including community concerns, and trails and access; and work to preserve and protect in perpetuity the remaining habitat areas and secure tenuous wildlife crossing points.
