CSOTFA, District 1 Dear Members, We are on the final leg preparing for the 49th Annual California State Old Time Open Fiddle & Picking Championships to be held at the Municipal Auditorium, 1200 Myers Street, Oroville, CA and hope you will be working along side of us to make it a great one. See page 5 for the different segments of the contest and be sure to give them a call or email to volunteer. I m sure you can find something you can do on the list. If anyone knows where we can find a small Cherry Picker for use on Thursday & Saturday please let Zeke Walker know (530) 589-0453. We need it to put up our decorations. We are rapping up our fundraising and I want to thank the District 1 members for their generosity. Without your donations we d be hard pressed to make this event happen. THANK YOU! A very special THANK YOU goes to our fundraising chairperson Teresa Ward for taking on such a big task and working it, in addition, to holding down a full time job. Very commendable and appreciated. Another really big THANK YOU goes to Rayburn McDonald and his main assistant Lawrence Brothers for taking on the Parking and Garbage detail. Neither of which are glamourous positions but are very important to the success of the event. We need EVERYONE TO PITCH IN AND HELP us make this a GREAT EVENT that the Fiddlers and the City of Oroville will be talking about for the next year. Please share the flyer, registration form and schedule with your friends & neighbors. We need an audience as well as participants. Help us show that the members of District 1 are up to the task! Brett Johnson, Contest Co-Chair (530) 533-9336 brett@housersmusic.com The flyer, registration and schedule are available at www.orovilleoldtimefiddlers.com. Page 6
