FISH BITES The Marlins continue the first of two season-long 10-game homestands tonight with the opener of this four-game set against the Arizona Diamondbacks at 7:10 p.m. LHP Jeff Locke, who is making his season debut tonight after starting the season on the disabled list with left shoulder tendinitis, has gone 1-2 with a 6.57 ERA in five prior appearances (four starts) against the Diamondbacks. Arizona is countering with RHP Zack Greinke (6-3, 3.24), who in eight previous appearances (seven starts) against the Fish has posted a 4-0 record and 2.96 ERA. Tonight's ceremonial first pitches are being thrown by Alfredo Ramirez III, Rodolfo Llanes and Scott Isreal, and the national anthem is being performed by Lori McQuestion. Tonight is Law Enforcement Night at Marlins Park. Fans are invited to support the men and women in blue. A portion of the proceeds from each ticket purchased at marlins.com/specialevents will support the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. In addition, fans who purchase a special event ticket will receive a commemorative Marlins Challenge Coin. Miami's current homestand began with the Fish taking two of three from the Los Angeles Angels and sweeping the Philadelphia Phillies in a three-game set. The Marlins returned home from their most recent road trip last Thursday, going 2-4 against the Los Angeles Dodgers (1-3) and Oakland Athletics (1-1). YESTERDAY VS. PHILLIES Miami extended its winning streak to four games with a 10-2 win and series sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Marlins struck early and often, leaving the first inning with a 3-0 lead thanks to a RBI single by Christian Yelich and two-run home run by Marcell Ozuna. The Marlins struck again in the third and fourth innings with solo tallies, and followed with three more runs in the fifth to go up 8-0. Justin Bour led the charge in the fifth by leading off with his 14th home run of the season. He followed in the sixth with his second of the game, a two-run shot to right field, marking his third career multi-homer affair. Ozuna paced the offense with three hits, while Dee Gordon, JT Riddle, Bour and A.J. Ellis all had two-hit games. Dan Straily (4-3) provided another quality outing, giving up two runs (one earned) on nine hits and a walk, with 10 strikeouts, over 6.2 innings. ELIAS SAYS Justin Bour, who connected for two home runs in the Marlins win on Wednesday, has hit 11 round trippers in his last 19 games. The only player in Franchise history to hit more home runs than Bour in a span of fewer than 20 games is Giancarlo Stanton, who went deep 12 times in 19 games in the spring of 2015. AGAINST THE D-BACKS Miami took four of six from the D-backs in the 2016 series, including a three-game sweep here at Marlins Park from May 3-5. The Marlins are 34-35 against the Diamondbacks in South Florida, 8-10 at Marlins Park, and trail the all-time series, 59-76. TODAY'S TRANSACTION The Marlins today reinstated LHP Jeff Locke from the 10-day disabled list and placed LHP Justin Nicolino on the 10- day DL (retro to May 31) with a left index finger contusion. SCORING CHANGE There has been a scoring change in Miami's May 30 game against Philadelphia. In the top of the sixth inning, Howie Kendrick reached base on what was originally scored an error on Dustin McGowan. That has since been changed to a base hit for Kendrick. LOCKE READY TO ROCK Jeff Locke is making his Marlins debut tonight after beginning the season on the 10-day disabled list with left shoulder tendinitis. His last Major League start was for the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 3, 2016 at Atlanta, a game in which he took the loss after allowing five runs on nine hits with two walks and a strikeout over 4.1 innings. In 110 career MLB starts, Locke has gone 34-37 with a 4.48 ERA (618.2 ip/308 er). In four rehab starts between Single-A Jupiter and Double-A Jacksonville, he went 1-0 with a 1.77 ERA (20.1/4). Locke will become the 10th different starting pitcher for the Marlins in 2017, making Miami one of three teams in the Majors to use 10-or-more starters this season (Seattle - 12; Cincinnati - 10). - Stats LLC PICKING UP STEAM Since May 19, Miami's offense has paced Major League Baseball with a.309 average and.367 on-base percentage. In that same span, Marlins hitters are tied with Houston for the third-fewest strikeouts (83), more than only the Kansas City Royals (78) and Toronto Blue Jays (70). Dee Gordon leads Miami's offense in that time, as well as the Majors, with a.452 average (19x42), while Marcell Ozuna ranks sixth at.383 (18x47). JT Riddle leads the Club in RBI (12) and is tied for sixth in the Majors, while Justin Bour is tied at ninth with 11. GETTIN' THOSE DIGITS Since April 30, Miami's offense has recorded double-digits in runs five times, tied with four other teams (Boston, Colorado, Houston and the Yankees) for most in the Majors. That comes after not recording a single 10-run game over the first 22 contests of the season. - Stats LLC MAYFLIES Justin Bour connected for 11 home runs in the month of May, the most he has hit in a single month in his career. The 11 home runs were the third-most ever in the month of May in Marlins history, behind Giancarlo Stanton (12 in 2012) and Dan Uggla (12 in 2008). His 11 May home runs paced Major League Baseball and upped his season total to 15, which is tied for second in the National League with Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman, trailing Scott Schebler (16). RIDDLE ROLLING Since May 15, rookie JT Riddle has hit.339 (19x56) with six doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI, and has set a season-best with a current six-game hitting streak. In 20 games since being recalled from Triple-A New Orleans on May 9, he has batted.302 (19x63) with six doubles, two home runs and 13 RBI. In his first stint with Miami this season, from April 11-18, he recorded just two hits in 14 a-bats (.143) with one home run and three RBI.
