UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO CONCRETE CANOE TEAM SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE 1T8-1T9
Dear Prospective Sponsors We are the University of Toronto Concrete Canoe Team and every year we build a new canoe made completely of concrete. This is a rite of passage that was established over 40 years ago in Civil Engineering education, aimed at fostering engineering, leadership, and teamwork skills in a fun and competitive setting. While concrete has existed for over 5000 years, our team is applying leading edge engineering methods to construct the best possible concrete canoe. This year, we will be using new and innovative light-weight materials and advanced microscopy analysis. Additionally, we will adopt machine learning canoe design approaches and stringent environmentally sustainable practices in order to maintain our position as one of the top Canadian teams. We were the top English-Canadian school at the 2018 Canadian National Concrete Canoe Competition, placing 2 nd in both the technical report and presentation categories. This could not have been possible without the ingenuity of our fellow student team members and the support of our sponsors. Whether it is a cash donation or much needed materials or tools, your support promotes the development of future engineers to accomplish the seemingly impossible now and in the future. We greatly appreciate your consideration and hope to see you as a sponsor for our team this year. With tremendous gratitude, Matthew Garcia (CIV1T8) and Rick Liu (CIV1T9) Co-Project Managers
