With runners at the corners and two outs in the seventh, Teoscar Hernandez and Tony Kemp executed a double steal to give Corpus Christi a 3-2 edge. In the ninth, Leo Heras doubled down the right-field line and moved to third on a pitch in the dirt. With two away, Cody Ege walked Kemp, brining Jio Mier to the plate. During the at-bat, Kemp set sail for second, prompting Frisco catcher Jorge Alfaro to fire to third in attempt to catch Heras leaning. Alfaro s throw got away from Joey Gallo, enabling Heras to scamper home for the Hooks fourth run. Aaron West retired nine of the 11 men he faced, striking out five. Jandel Gustave netted the save, striking out two in the ninth. Vince Velasquez made his second Double-A start. Velasquez permitted two runs on three hits and four walks over four frames. With a run home and two in scoring position in the fourth, Velasquez struck out two batters to end the inning. Angel Baez bridged the gap to West with a perfect fifth.
