Welcome to Rhiwbina Squash Club Our club is located in the village of Rhiwbina, in the North of Cardiff, just a few miles from the city centre and a five minute drive to the M4 motorway. We are a friendly, thriving club and offer the opportunity for players of all standards to get involved and play this fast-paced, dynamic sport. We cater for all abilities, from complete beginners, through intermediates, up to elite players. The squash club forms part of a wider Recreation club which hosts rugby, indoor and outdoor bowls, tennis, table tennis and social sections. A short walk will take you into the Rhiwbina village with some shops and retail outlets. The train station is also nearby which can take you into the centre of Cardiff in 10 minutes or so. Court 2 within the club has been designated a warm up court which can be used to stretch prior to and after matches. Court 3 and 4 are 17 inch tin glass back courts and will be used for all the matches.
Following on from last year s incredible event the 2018 Rhiwbina Welsh Squash Open is due for lift off in May 2018. The whole of Wales got behind the tournament last year and made it an event to remember. 30 top class professional players descended on Cardiff from all around the world and the sun smiled on us to add to the red hot squash the players delivered on the baked courts in Rhiwbina. George Parker the young Englishman prevailed to continue his impressive run of form during that time to claim the title beating another up and coming Englishman Patrick Rooney. Home player Peter Creed was hot on their tails but just failed to reach a dream home final. To the players your skill, fitness and desire to reach further up the professional squash ladder will be fully recognised by what we know will be a very passionate, supportive and appreciative crowd. I wish you all the very best in your endeavours this week. We have waited a long time to see players of your exceptional talents. Please play hard but fairly and respectfully and given the chance I hope you enjoy your time here in Wales both on and off the court. Good luck to you all.
